Good stuff! In your opinion, how do you think that Adaptive Layer Height compares to Fuzzy Skin? Would it ever be appropriate to use them together, or is it more of a "choose one or the other" situation?
Good question. I have doubts of this being successful. You might get some decent results depending on the model. But Fuzzy skin is only applied to vertical surfaces. Adding Adaptive layers, on a domed surface for example would probably give some results up until just short of the top of the dome leaving a noticeable area of non-fuzzy skin. Since I haven't tried it personally, I am just speculating on what would happen. I may have to try it some day for fun. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching!
Just loaded it onto my win11 machine. Sliced a model i had in cura. Sliced to same settings and the file size is s about 30 percent larger. Any thoughts?
Interesting question. I've never tried, but I wouldn't think that it would work. Having said that, since I've never tried it I couldn't be 100% sure that it wouldn't work. I'm going to have to try this at some point! Thanks for watching!
5.1 does have the Ender 3 V3 Se in it! I use it with mine. Make sure you have the latest version & updates! The numbers for your flow setting should be on the tabs. If you are going to stick with the earlier version, make sure it is Creality Print, not Creality Slicer. They are two different slicers that on the surface look very much a like, but aren't. My opinion (I know, you didn't ask), I would go to Creality Clouds software download section and get the latest version of 5.
This video was made for Creality Print 4, the current version is Creality Print 5. It got an entire make over! I'm in the process of updating my videos for version 5. Thanks for watching!
Hi I loved this video up until the skins 😅 I am using creality 5.1 and I can’t find that option anywhere 😢.i assumed it has been renamed ?? Can you help please
Thank you for the video! The only little disadvantage of this method is that we can't use tree supports. It's understandable, they have their own independent layer height. The feature it's extremely useful, thank you for great explanation!
I use to do it this way with all materials. I've been using Bambu Studio, Orca Slicer and Creality Print lately and all have a new visual method for dialing in the flow rate. I haven't looked to see if Cura has added one or not. But when use my original Ender 3, 5 and 5 Plus, I dialed in TPU this way.
If you don't see the icon in the toolbar, it's hidden behind the filament control menu. A small circular tab sits next to the menu which controls the menu's onscreen/offscreen option. Click that tab, the menu slides offscreen and the tab moves to the edge of the screen. To review, your minmum and maximum layer height settings provide the range in which the adaptive layer settings work. Good tool. Thanks for the heads up.
You might now be using the latest version. Open Creality Print, Click on the Creality Icon and select Help, next click "About US" to check what version you are running. Or, you are running Creality Slicer, not Creality Print. They are two different programs. If you check, let me know what you find out!
Why didn't you use the Rib functionality in Fusion instead of drawing and extruding them yourself? One line and the rib functionality would build the entire rib, which you could then pattern or morror.
Habit! Sounds stupid, right? I've been using Autodesk Inventor for about the past 15 years, and still do in my day job. Fusion is similar, but still very different. Most of what I design during the day involves sketching and extruding. Out of habit, I almost always go that route when using Fusion 360. It's one of the things I like about CAD software, there are a lot of ways to get the same result!
Using adaptive layers in Cura is very similar, but you get control over the layer height range and the max difference between steps It does help on spherical shapes.
Similar but still different. I did a full video on Adaptive Layers in Cura about a year ago. I think Creality is following the path of Adaptive Layers in Orca.
In Bambu Studio, Click on the Strength tab. It's under Top/Bottom Shells. Look for Top Surface Pattern and/or Bottom Surface Pattern. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching!!!
@@pushingplastic7445 ya that would be a great way to arrange them and maybe you could target one section at a time also have you been facing issues on slicing with custom setting and losing all details of the object coz I have been facing the issue for a while
@@SatishRai1310 I haven't losing details with custom settings. I have noticed a drop off in quality recently but I'm hoping it's a worn nozzle. I'm still running the original on my K1 Max. I'll be installing a Flow Tech nozzle next week. As for the Ender 3 V3 Se, I haven't noticed any drop off at all in quality. What printer are you running?
@@pushingplastic7445 I am running on ender 3v3ke I didn't had any issues with printing, but during slicing on custom setting all my details on prototype used to not appear hence was forced to use default setting
Every time I tried adaptive layers on V4 it didn't make a difference or made it look worse. I quit using it. Off that topic, could someone help me with TPU? I have a K1 max, when I print a benchy with 95a tpu, it's all good until the chimney, then it's turns to a melted mess... Ideas??
This video is for a previous version of Creality Print. The process has changed in 5.1. After doing the first pass, there is a little math involved, you update the settings and then do pass 2. I have a video for the updated method ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-caMCAk57SJY.html
My Benchy is not printing. It does not give me the printing time. And, it keeps cutting off, and not starting the print phase. What am I doing wrong! I know that I am right there, but there is a small thing that I am doing wrong!
hello. i want to print the first quarter of the print with 25% fill rate and the rest of the print with 15% fill rate. how can i do it? my machine is k1 max. does this program have that feature?
The Ender 3 V3 SE would require Linear Advance, it's very similar theory to Pressure Advance. So far it's not enabled on the stock firmware for the Ender 3 V3 SE.
If you click on the Device tab at the top of the screen, in the upper right hand corner there are options to scan for printers or you can manually add the printer by entering the IP address.
Most slicers today have the ability to automatically insert and configure a temperature tower for you. What slicer are you using? But as per your request, here's a link to the temperature tower www.thingiverse.com/thing:2729076/comments
Very good videos you have, one question for you.. can you use variable layer height (you got me hooked on this feature in other great video of yours) in this version? Thank you very much..
Yes you can, it's a little different but same concept. It's the icon on the top of the screen that looks like a bunch of horizontal lines on top of each other. They call it adaptive layers in this version.
@@AntonioLima9000 I have, not in Creality Print but I've done it before. The supports and adaptive layers both functioned as they should have. I would expect the same in Creality Print.
@@pushingplastic7445 I've tried, unsuccessfully. Seems to me that at the moment you activate the support option the variable layer becomes disabled. But thanks a lot for your exchange with me.
Breaker 1-9er, Over-modulated gain report, turn it down, compress it to get the volume correct. If there's too much breath noise etc, after the compression on that mic, use a gate first to cut that low signal out, big mic can sound much better. Thanks for the info. Enjoying Orcaslicer.
There are a few versions on that page. I was using the latest at the time. In fact. they've just put out an update a few days ago on that same page! Thanks for watching!
I've been 3D printing for many years using a DIY kit printer (it has been a journey!) and finally I've moved on to a more commercial approach with an Ender 3 v3 KE. The differences are remarkable but I'm still getting used to this machine. Thanks for all the helpful tips good sir :)
