Join us on today’s journey as we explore the flavors of Mishqui Cocina Peruana on Monona Drive in Madison, WI! 🍽️ We decided to dive into Peruvian cuisine for a late lunch, and it was quite an adventure since we were both new to these flavors.
What we ordered~
Appetizer: 🥟
Peruvian Empanadas: Golden flaky pastry filled with a delicious mix of ground beef, onions, tomatoes, olives, panca pepper, yellow pepper, cilantro, and golden raisins. ($3.75 each)
Main Courses:
John's Choice - Locro de Zapallo: - A hearty, gluten-free pumpkin, squash, and potato stew, rich with herbs and seasoning. ($14)
Teai’s Choice - Trio Marino/Combination Seafood Platter: A fantastic gluten-free and lactose-free sampler featuring rice with seafood paella, fish ceviche, and cod fish fry. ($30)
The restaurant offers a cozy dining space with a small grocery area, a bar, and a bakery. We noticed a lot of to-go orders and quite a few people coming in just for the bakery treats. Although we were too full for dessert, the options looked tempting!
Mishqui recently opened a second location in Middleton. Now, both the East and West sides of Madison can enjoy these unique flavors. If you've never tried Peruvian or Colombian food, Mishqui Cocina Peruana is a fantastic place to start.

- The service was a bit slow, but it's clear the food is prepared fresh to order, and the flavors are worth the wait!
