Join me as I photograph seascapes and capture long exposures at Talacre and Point of Ayr Lighthouse. Despite missing the sunrise due to unexpected road closures, I made the most of the conditions and captured some beautiful images. In this video, I'll share my journey, the techniques I used, and the final images. Be sure to listen for the strong onshore breeze in the audio.
Highlighted technique: Long exposure photography
Location: Talacre and Point of Ayr Lighthouse, Wales
Main takeaway: Capturing beautiful seascape images despite unexpected obstacles
Leave a comment below and let me know what you think of the video"
Additional Info:

@@ashleyrossphotography Take your time and have a look at the dune system, as there are some lovely shots to be had from within the dune grasses and this time of year, if its a bit wind swept it should bee stunning.

Geoff, thanks for this video. We all spend some time wishing we lived closer to great locations & this film reminded me how lucky I am. I live 30 mins from Talacre and was there shooting the light only this week.

Hey Geoff, some cracking images in there. I know the testing conditions that you were clearly in fairly well. I vlogged from there a month or so back and binned all of my beach vlog, retreating into the dunes to speak - the wind certainly does howl down that coast. Really like the composition of the image at 4:58 - the angle works really well, especially as the lighthouse leans slightly. Good stuff

Thanks Bamber. Apologies for taking so long to get back to you. I didn't receive any notification of comments being left! I'm was looking forward to doing some more video, with the obvious restrictions we have here in the UK its not possible to get out and about. I was going to do a small series on Astrophotography but every UK YT'r is doing something on that subject at the moment. Not sure what I can add that hasn't been done already.

Hey Geoff, thought exactly the same myself tbh - had planned on a garden night sky vlog at the weekend just gone - then saw how many were being uploaded......decided to take a week off!

@@LetsClickPhotography Well I try to produce a video every 4 to 6 weeks, this is due to work / life commitments. I'm hoping that I can find something interesting in the back yard. I did a woodland macro video on mushrooms that was well received, I wonder if a video of up turning bricks to photo the wee beasties might work and prove interesting.

Hi Geoff, The opening is so strong with the wide pan over the couple walking on the shore. Looks like you're having fun! The soundtrack is very professional.

Thank you. Was a difficult shoot for many reasons, pleased you liked the opening sequence, I would have loved to have done more with that but technical difficulties and strong and cold wind was causing me allsorts of grief with warnings and alerts.
@lisajeanlevin
@lisajeanlevin 4 года назад
@@GeoffMoorePhotography I know wind can be a factor, even if I'm just walking outside talking on my cellphone to a friend they'll say they can't hear me. I could hear you very clearly despite the wind, and being able to hear the wind as well as your voice gives me more of a sense of the conditions you were filming/shooting in!

Very nicely done Geoff, always nice to see a place i love to photograph myself, a question? do you think painting it has spoiled it, do you prefer the rugged roughness on your previous visits photographs, next time you plan a visit, drop me a message and i will take you to some of my favourite locations around the North West Coast.
@GeoffMoorePhotography
@GeoffMoorePhotography 4 года назад
Thank You Raymod. I think I prefered the weather'd look to the lighthouse on previous visit, however, if a lick of paint keeps the building with us for a little while longer I'm happy with that. And thank you for the other of a guided tour. We are quite often up that way on our photography adventures so I will let you know when!
