Spend a full day with me sailing to beautiful Jamestown, Rhode Island on our Catalina 22, exploring local pubs, book stores, and wild nature. Please enjoy and subscribe to my channel. ⛵ 🎸 Music by Silas Campbell / meggyocean
I would imagine if I put on those apple vision goggles, turned up the heat, and cracked a cold beer to watch this, that it might be like going sailing from my couch in Vermont on a February day! Thanks for sharing and breaking up the winter while I count the days till the boat goes in the water!
Awesome video! Had a Catalina 22 back in the day in NJ. Currently making some repairs to my Hunter 34 here in North Florida to set sail to the Bahamas, maybe see you there one day! Look forward to your next episode!🌴
Thank you for watching! That sounds like a beautiful sail, it is our dream to sail there too. We are launching our 32’ International 500 sailboat this spring. Stepping into something larger to go further, and I will be making more videos!
So relaxing ! Too relaxing to watch as I just woke up , had to keep rewinding since I keep dozing off ! Memories of my C22 as I drifted off . Keep up the great music and filming.
I was a Rhode Islander and a sailor, if you are on a heading of 180 that must be the Newport (Pell) bridge. The Jamestown bridge is on the west side of Jamestown. Beautiful helmsman btw. I do miss the bay.
That was lovely. Currently prepping my newly acquired Catalina 25 for a splash day soon!! I’ve never been on a sailboat other than my little Sunfish!! Diving in headfirst!!! 💪🏽 Looking forward to the next vid!!
I watch a lot of sailing videos at half attention, your video, I thoroughly enjoyed! I guess it was the simplicity of being out on the water, adventure of sailing someplace not to far but far enough. Nicely done guys! I have a C34 in Salem Mass. Of course some of our best sails are local jaunts. This helped me get fired up for the season, thank you, Paul (s/v BuddyB)
I am so happy you enjoy this style of video! My goal is to share dreamy day sailing and show people how fun and simple sailing can be. I appreciate you watching 🫶🏻
Wow that makes me so happy to hear!! I also took a little convincing at first, but fast forward 6 years it was the best decision we ever made! Fair winds to you both ☺️🩵
@@DayDreams-sailing The key to getting your wife or girlfriend to go sailing (especially overnight) is having an actual enclosed toilet on board. Us men have no problem with going over the side but you can't expect a lady to do that. That is why I sort of "downgraded" from a Catalina 22 to a MacGregor 26 because the MacGregor has an enclosed restroom instead of just a thin curtain like the Catalina. My wife is much happier to go sailing now!
Just discovered your channel. I rent a house on the water just across from Hog Island Shoal Light in Portsmouth every year for a couple of weeks. Looks like you sail under Mt Hope Bridge and past Hog Island. Nice videos. Love seeing the area. I usually rent a J22 from Sail Newport when I'm there. Are there any small sail boats for rent in Portsmouth/Bristol?
We love hog island! My previous videos include exploring that island after we anchored there it is beautiful. I don’t know of any rentals in those areas, but our C22 is going up for sale this spring!
Thank you!🫶🏻 this was our first boat too, it’s a very capable starter boat. You will have so much fun. The panel is a 15watt semi flex solar panel, from Nature Power. And we bought their 8amp solar charge controller.
Beautiful guys! Almost felt like I was on the boat too. I have the exact same boat (had it for a year now) but as of yet I haven't it sea worthy due to some missing rigging and gutted interior, keel winch messed up. I have. question: Is your dinghy big enough for both of you if no gear? If so, which one is it and where do I get one? There is a guy in Long Beach CA that does RU-vids from a Catalina 30 and he has a similar dinghy with an electric motor and is able to go a really long way with the motor. When he is by himself, he takes a Solar Panel and can go almost all day with it that way. So I was thinking... Thanks again for taking us Viewers along!
I hope you get your boat launched soon! Our dinghy is a basic inflatable dinghy from West Marine. As you can see in this video we got a lot of gear with us. We can fit up to 6 people including ourselves. That’s always fun.. I’ve dropped the link here, and these tend to sell out very fast when the season begins! www.westmarine.com/west-marine-ru-250-roll-up-inflatable-dinghy-17981143.html Thank you for watching 👍
Very nice video. Too bad you aren't more active with them. I know its time consuming. You both look like you are having fun . The season goes by quick doesn't it?.
@@jamesletendre4097 yes very quick! I have more videos in my queue so hopefully I will publish them more regularly :) thank you for watching. We are launching our new 32’ sailboat in May!
My keel winch doesnt have a brake band and it occurred to me how fast it could brake my hand if the handle slipped my grip while winching. Mines a 'new to me' 1970 McGregor trailer sailor 25'. Almost ready!
Aloha C22 ! I am interested in the marine railway being developed with the RI Train enthusiasts. Pull vessels out on a railway as a hurricane evacuation plan. Blue Skies!
Great video with an awesome soundtrack that has a relaxed, Pink Floydish sound to it. Does Silas work in the music industry? He sure has a talent for the electric guitar.
We left the interior original. We sleep in the V berth, and have the option to lower the table and put a cushion on it for an additional berth. We keep the hatch and companionway open and cover them with screens for airflow. It’s quite cozy in there, and the pop-top makes a big difference!
