Damn yooo . Am from St Croix and the taxi driver that was driving you in this video is my grandfother . His name is manny ❤❤❤❤❤❤ . He is really nice . I really appreciate you for this . Blessed love #STX. ONE LOVE❤
Glad to see ya'll ha fun on our little island in the sun! The bugs that were biting you are called "sandflies" or "no-see-ums". Later on in the afternoon the can be a real nuisance on certain beaches. Glad you guys where able to make it to buck islands and the tide pools. Those are two must do's when visiting st Croix. The corals are not as beautiful as they were years ago. What ever cleaning agent they used when they had that big oil spill in the Gulf some years back really messed them up. That was nice of the taxi driver to buy you the snacks. On your next trip down come to St. Thomas and I'll tea you guys around and show you the sites!
I'm glad you had a more positive experience than you expected. It is a wonderful island so you should come back and see the rest of it! By the way, the difference between high and low tide is miniscule. Basically, it's indiscernible so no fear of getting stuck at the tidal pools! Happy travels!
Thanks for the insight! High tide in the pools didn't seem as daunting as what I read online and it was a beautiful view either way :) Would definitely try to visit again sometime soon.
The red street light are for the sea turtles..if white street lights are used the turtle babies ( hatchling) would go towards the the street instead of walking towards the ocean.. the red lights look beautiful
The beach is very entertaining..go when it's cool like 6 or 7 am ,,or 4 pm. Sundown is at 6.. walking the pier is impressive... seeing the little fishes in the rocks is very exciting..and the fresh air is very healing ..smell good
Boat over to a little island in downtown christiansted..the island is protest tant cay ( hotel on the cay) and there's an ice cream shop on the boardwalk....the boardwalk is pretty..film the short boat ride
You must go to St. John. I used to live on St. Croix back in the 70's. Long before you were born. It is a shame that you did not sail to Buck Island. Under sail is so peaceful, no engine noise. I hope that you did some snorkeling around Buck Island. The coral heads are not as plentiful or beautiful as they once were. However, you see lots of fish. Next time you have to visit Whim Great House which is an old sugar plantation. Oh, and next time remember to pack bug spray.
