Another small town near Coronado that some ExPats retire to. Mainly because of it's lower cost of living. A save and affordable place to retire. Come see it with us.
I lived in San Carlos for 2 years. The Panamanian house I rented was right on the Parque. You missed the Hospital, the Bomberos, the Vegetable and Fruit compound right near the Bank. The hardware store, a couple of restaurants. People all say Buenos Dias in passing, the beach is lovely, I loved walking to buy food, it is very inexpensive. I loved living there, except during Fiestas when the Parque is filled with partiers. I only met 3-4 Expats there...which made learning Spanish much faster.
I grew up in Panama in the 1960's, and Rio Mar was my family's favorite beach. Yours is not the only video that focuses on "Vista Mar." Rio Mar, back in the day, was something of an oasis, an off the beaten path destination. My hope is that, since Panama retirement youtubers don't seem to film there, it retains some of its rusticness. I actually should be in Panama as I am typing this, but was deterred by the current civil unrest. So, I am taking my vacation vicariously! thanks!
I find those places like Coronado is good for a soft landing or for holiday / vacations but to live I prefer a mixture of expats and locals with the lean being towards more locals.
Great video, but would be much better if you could be heard. It sounds like you are both trying to use the same mic, which is impossible. The clip on mics aren't that expensive. We would love to hear what you are saying. Keep the great videos coming.
We just attached a phone to the front window for that video. It was awhile ago. We've since bought a few wireless clip on mics that solve that problem. Thanks for watching though.
