Exploring Tawi-Tawi Philippines (IS IT SAFE?) In this Philippines travel video I am In Bongao Tawi Tawi which is a muslim island in Mindanao, Philippines. I explore the downtown area of Tawi Tawi which has a large market. I walk around the market and talk to many locals of this island.

We're creating new BARMM office in our place, I get scholarships because of BARMM and I can say a lot! We're developing slowly thou but your case is different since you're from South. We're developing also our oil that Moro protected for many decades so watch out, Mindanao will be huge in the future

Before president duterte the Philippines' national debt is 6 trillion pesos. After he leaves The position the Philippine's debt amounted to 13 trillion pesos. The corruption is worst. For example, in Philhealth alone 15 billion pesos were stolen by corrupt officials. I thought it was Glorias's term that has the worst corruption. After Marcos Sr, But it was Dutertes' administration. I didn't say illegal drugs shouldn't be a concern but corruption is more worst. It is the root of poverty which leads to the criminal act like drugs.

I’m an American born Filipino. I wish I had access to this commerce/lifestyle in Southern CA, especially the seaside markets. The closest I can get to this is Rosarito and Ensenada, our Latino counterparts. The nicest people on the planet are those who sell in open air markets, especially the street food!

I had the chance to visit Tawi-tawi in 2022. The place is a melting pot of different cultures and traditions. It's one of the safest province that I've been to in the Philippines. You should have stayed longer bro. Haha. Two days is not enough for you to discover what Tawi-tawi has to offer.

Sulu is just dangerous before because the Government doesn't give the Muslims their own rights when infact Muslims were there for 600 years before Magellan came and colonized most part of the Philippines. Aww man you missed out. That cone shaped thing wrapped in banana leaf is one of best snacks from that region. If I remember correctly, its a steamed dessert made with rice flour and coconut milk. It has a rather gentle type of sweetness and fragrance thanks to the banana leaf.

You are near the Mt Bongao in this Vlog. Reason why Mindanao was once marked as an unsafe place to visit in the Philippines because a “few” Foreigners were kidnapped by the Rebels. They were there as Missionaries converting Muslims to become Christians. A few Missionaries were kidnapped and never seen again. I heard this story back in the 90’s. I’m pretty sure they will improve Tawi-Tawi in the near future. That place is the Seaweed Capital of the Philippines.

Of course, Tawi Tawi is a muslim majority teritory. You cannot just go round and land there and attempt to convert people from muslim to christianity? That is an outright offensive to their way of life and faith. I will not be surprise if you will find yourself in a very dangerous place if that's the case. And then since you are an outsider you should be careful not to offend a local. Wag siga siga eh di ka naman taga doon. But if you go there, behave , be polite , just enjoy the local scenes, respect the way of life of the locals then I'm pretty sure you will be unharmed. That's my take on that.

Panggih Panggih. Pan Pan, Tawi Tawi means cute. Repeating the words means small, little or cute. Like Bongao ,is a small town. Tawi Tawi is a small Province with many small, tiny islands. So, Tawi tawi is just a small, with many tiny, cute islands. 🌺💖🌺

Yeah nope. Our last island there is Sibuto island and another smaller island facing Sabah, Philippines 😂 and to the west of Tawi-tawi island is Turtle island in Sulu sea our boundary guard island on Malaysia but Sabah, Philippines.

Its really funny how malaysia have 5 unclaimed states in Thailand, but our country never trying to claim it. But The Philippines claimed that Sabah as their territory, but actually its not 😂 The Sultan of brunei have never gave sabah to sulu

@@HannahHolalala you problem with Thailand isn't ours 😂😂😂 you claim them if you wish. But malaysia kept paying rental paymenta to sulu sultanate isn't it a fact of Philippines ownership of Sabah? Then Sulu sultan ceded Sulu sultanate to Republic of the Philippines that included too the Sabah territory

Christians need to inquire to the Tawi-Tawi Local Government if it's safe to visit. Anywhere in Mindanao, there are towns where Christians need to be escorted by the local Police.

@@oceanfly1283 Davao City is a Duterte turf. My cousins are from Iligan City. There is a difference between Maranao and Tausug Muslim. Maranao are peaceful business people of Misamis YET STILL, they did not say a word when Isis was around Misamis. You know the story.
