I love watching your videos. You have so much knowledge about the mines, minerals, etc. There are a few good channels on RU-vid about mine exploring. I prefer the channels where they are able to explain the mining process, what minerals I am looking at, the approximate age of the mines, etc. You can do all of that. It is also fun to see caves and mines in other countries than the US, where I live

What an absolute gem of a channel makes you question how fearless the people to work down there were

I like when you find old candles or where the candles had been placed.I think about all the mine explorers that walk past that and don’t even notice it. thanks for the video

Very impressive especially when knowing the name of the mine manager. It's difficult to imagine hand drilling and blasting all that rock with black powder. The miners also had to concern themselves with the fact that black powder is hygroscopic picking up one and a half percent of it's weight in 24 hours in a wet mine reducing how rapidly it burned and therefore not removing the rock it was supposed to. It would still burn which meant no miner had to pick out a 'missed shot' with a long copper spoon. One advantage to black powder is that no detonator was required to set it off, a simple flame was sufficient where dynamite and eventually ANFO requires a very aggressive shock. A 'missed shot' with dynamite is extremely hazardous to pick out as detonators didn't tolerate being picked at much and should it decide it's had enough irritation the first object to absorb the subsequent explosion would be the miner's face. A job for the low man on the proverbial totem pole.
