Forest Park Hospital, formerly Deaconess Central Hospital, was founded in 1889. The hospital was constructed at its present location by the time of the World's Fair in 1904 when the world's first neonatal incubator was proudly displayed here.*
The hospital remained a non-profit institution until 1997 when it was sold to Tenent Health Care of Texas. The hospital was sold again several times during the next few years, finally ending up in the hands of Success Health Care, a joint partnership group from Florida.
Success Health Care promised to revitalize the failing hospital. But they were already mired in scandal that could inconvenience them of $500 Million. On top of this, allegations of fraud and the suicide of an investment Banker in Bermuda did not bode well.**
In April 2010, the hospital laid off 75 percent of its workforce. In May of the following year, the ER was shut down. By the end of 2011, the once-thriving 450 hospital was reduced to operating a 60 bed psychiatric ward as well as a laboratory and pharmacy.
It was abandoned some time in early 2012. It was demolished in 2014.
Exploration video features include:
-the morgue
-SuperAwesomeDownhillOfficeChair Kart Racing!!!

This was the old Deaconess Hospital. In the beginning the 1st building that he went to but didn't go in was the old Deaconess College of Nursing. I graduated from there in the early 90s.

wow this morning I was trying to find the numbers to forest park hospital to get information on the free respite service. my children attended years ago,to see if they had any thing like that in Georgia, since now my daughter has her own children now,it saddens me to find out that the hospital is now torn down,I used to brag about them watching my kids and having so much fun,praise God for the acquaintance, they made a big huge difference in my family's life,I salute them,I love the childcare crew,they taught me alot.

That place is gone now! The parking garage was still there, after the hospital was tore down! And the St.Louis Zoo, was going to use it for parking! That was near the dog town area, where they have st.Patrick's day parades! I got a chance to get inside there before it was torn down, but it wasn't as fresh, as these guys filmed it! Everything was gutted, and the scrapers were tearing precious metals out, for party cash! Some homeless people were staying inside, but they didn't bother us, the scrapers kept asking us, if we seen any cops! It was crazy! That hospital, was a dirty hospital when it was open!

Seeing that this video was posted/filmed in 10/2012, it hasn't even been a full year since closing. Also, the plans for a parking garage weren't finalized at that time. So clearng out the building was still in progress
@mariocruz6281

They usually leave the Electricity on for a few months because They have Security Systems still hooked up a lot are silent. Plus if this place was torn down for a Parking Garage. They Probably had some kind of like rumage sale. Like when Casinos or Hotels are remodeling or closing. They sell the Bedroom sets for like $100. and TV's depending on size for $25. to $100. and tables, chairs, Chandeliers and if it's a Casino they sell the slot machines. They may sell a lot of this to Salvage Companies. I still think They should give to third war Countries like Haitti. Or places that had Catastrophes, or set up some Equipment in Trailors and transfer them where Dr's across Boarders go to help People in Foreign Countries.

I actually got to see the inside of this place, just weeks before they demolished it, in September of 2014. I had a friend who had connections with the company who owned the building, and we were contracted to help clean out some of the stuff. That Generator, about 8:03, I watched the Construction workers haul that thing outside. When I went though, it was being cleaned out and prepped for Demolition. Since of that, the Foreman told me and My group that we had to wear Hardhats when in the Hospital. It was already mostly cleaned out, some of the walls had writing in marking paint, mostly stuff for the construction workers to look for. I even Gave my mother An Industrial CoffeeMaker that was in one of the staff rooms. She didn't care for it, though. That office chair that you are racing down the hall with in 3:14? I think thats the one I am currently sitting in as I type this! dunno for sure, Because I got several, including a High Backed Leather one from floor 6,. Most of them we sold.

The reason there's music is because I wanted to keep the video relatively short but the sped up parts obviously would have sounded sped up without replacing the audio.. So should I put out a longer version without the sped up parts and the music? I'm afraid the downhill officechairkartracing would be staying regardless because that was awesome. Also I wrote the music in this one so obviously it's the best music ever.

+sublunar I was raped in this hospital as a little girl...by a surgeon who then performed mutilative surgery on my female parts. His last name was Greenbaum. He was never charged that I know of. He left me with a case of oral and vaginal chlamydia, as well as missing labia minora and vulval vestibule. He scraped out my insides with some kind of scoop, which caused weeks and weeks of pain, and also applied a cauterization to my nerve. I was 7 or 8. This place was evil to me. My parents were paid 300.00 I believe for the privilege.

+Tanya Diane wow. :( wtf did I just read?
@tanyadiane7214
@tanyadiane7214 8 лет назад
+kAndiCe ShorEs yep...very true. These horrible atrocities were committed against me in St. Louis, MO. By the time I was this age, I had been chronically abused, brutalized and broken since almost birth. I had already had several surgeries to repair my female part, which was split in 2 at age 4 months. I still remember the warm blood running down my legs. This surgery was ostensibly to recreate the long-missing membrane that most little girls still have intact. However, the surgeon took his fiendish pleasure first. I forgot to mention his final blow before being wheeled into surgery, he punched me in the nose, as I lay on the gurney, breaking it. He said, "if nobody else cares about you, then neither do I". He was Jewish. A nurse did ask, why is there blood coming from her nose, and why is there fluid in her female area. But nobody did anything. So heart-breaking. I was the victim of a ring of dozens of abusers and accomplices, each one agreeing to it, either directly or indirectly. But I survived. I just recount this so that others can notify proper people to help children who are still being abused. It still goes on. If you notice anything weird please don't hesitate to try and help in the best way you can.

I wonder why there’s a garbage disposer in the morgue at 2:10? I have seen other morgue photos where there is a sink built into the autopsy table, with a garbage disposer attached. It’s literally Jeffery Dahmer’s dream kitchen. Hospitals still are houses of horrors, even though they have improved their technology and medicine dramatically in the past 150-200 years, and are much less feared.

Me and a buddy of mine were actually paid by someone (he got me the job, no clue who hired us) to go into this place and get all the old rotary phones out, I believe to scrap maybe? There wasn't nearly this amount of shit still in there tho, mainly small things on the floors and what not, but there were a bunch of bloody tubes and equipment in what I believe was the ER which was kinda trippy. At the time I didn't think anything of it, but now it's kinda scary to think about

@MrDiabolicmuffin
@MrDiabolicmuffin 8 лет назад
+sublunar all the maternity cribs were scattered in the hall ways, some overturned... The lights were hanging from the ceiling and the ceil tiles were all destroyed on the ground... Plus the main lighting was off and the emergency lights were on the way out so they flickered... It was obvious some vandals got up there... Also creepy was one of the elevators near the front entrance was stuck on fire protocol and just constantly called itself to the first floor... Of course since it was on the first floor already it just opened and closed its self...
