Exploring the Abandoned New York State Insane Asylum!
This New York State Insane Asylum was a pretty interesting place to explore! Zenning with Zay & I had no intell on this place so we decided to see how we would make out being obvious & wandering the grounds. It didn't take long for a worker to approach us. Fortunately he a cool with us as long as we stayed away from the buildings as most of the were condemned! There were no ways in at all & it was clear they were keeping a VERY close eye on the place!

This is great videography! I think sometimes people forget that when these places were built people could be sent there for any number of insignificant reasons and not what we today would determine as serious mental illness. Of course there were many people who were seriously mentally ill as well. This is a massive place and I wonder if there is a graveyard attached somewhere on the grounds. Thanks for this. Again great videography! 💕 As an add on I remember when you and Freaktography ‘camped out’ in an asylum. That was a great vid as well.

I remember when Ghost Adventures did a show here, it’s just as creepy on the inside. No doubt that the buildings are full of restless souls. Thank you RR for bringing us back.

Yeah super creepy. There is no chance of getting I'm without permission sadly. We tried but couldn't as we went on a whim.

This was the New York State Inebriate Hospital in Binghamton, completed in 1864. Binghamton University will reclaim this property to make it useable

What a huge compound, I can’t imagine the thousands of people and staff it took to run things. If the wondering spirits could talk, I’m sure it would be enough to write a book. And if the patients were insane or just dropped off because of a disability or by family who couldn’t afford to keep them. Would have liked to have seen the inside, but wouldn’t want any trespassing violations against you!😢

Yes buy there wasn't much else to film. Security was tight so we couldn't go inside. I have plenty more to come!

Most of these buildings were closed in the 80s-90s and have been neglected. Many are full of asbestos and mold. They could be repurpos3d but at a t high cost I am sure.

Binghamton University says that it will reclaim this property for reuse.

Wow this place is huge. I noticed there is no fence around the place. No one was ever allowed to venture outside. Could imagine living in one of the houses surrounding the place. If walls could talk😢. Great video❤

I suspect there were areas that did have outdoor access but many were confined to the caged in patios.

Oh I thought the cages were fire escape routes added on later in years 😂😂😳
