Hi Kim, I enjoyed that film thank you, it looks like a great hike on a nice dry day. I don’t like it very much when the trail gets too busy, the same as you, l enjoy setting out very early in the morning, to avoid the crowds. Can't beat a nice day out in the Cairngorms, I did Bynack More a few years ago but couldn't see more than ten meters from the top. The Munro with what looks like two cairns on top is Beinn Mheadhoin, the summit of Ben Macdui is on the right above that small patch of snow. Linn of Dee - Derry Cairngorm - Ben Macdui - Carn a'Maim - Linn of Dee is one of my favourite routes if you're looking for a longer walk, the views of the Lairig Ghru between Ben Macdui and Carn a'Maim are amazing on a nice day.
Yes, I’m looking forward to many more days out in the Cairngorms. Sounds like a great route. I’ve been up Ben Macdui from the Aviemore side but never from Linn if Dee, so would be interesting to explore that route!
