We have been all over the world, but nothing will ever beat opening the doors of the Air France A330 when we land in SXM. Honestly probably the best and friendliest place we have ever been to. 11 times and counting. And just for your infomation....Mary's Boon is an awesome place to stay. Out of your door and right on to the beach.
Not to be critical, this island has much more to offer than just the "touristy" stuff shown here. Get off the beaten path... there's nothing like having a French restaurant, early in the evening with the owner coming out to personally explain the menu and then you dine, peacefully with some of the best food you have ever had, made to order. Then you find a private beach and enjoy solitude like never before... there's a lot of culture here to be enjoyed... it's not all the bright colored tourist traps. Again, slow down... get off the beaten path. That's where this island shines! Bon Voyage...
Hey wait a sec, that was lovely but did not even scratch the surface! What about the French side? Grand Case? Cuisine at Merigot? The old Fort? Mega yachts at The Lagoon? Simpson Bay? Famous low incoming jets at the airport? The ginormous beach on the other side…day trip to Anguilla or St.Barts? and so much more? My favorite Caribbean island. The culinary arts at the Marina in Merigot are the best
I've been there twice with my family when I was a bit younger and can't wait to make a solo trip or possibly be able to take my family back. I have such a fun memory of doing laps around water pylons super fast on a jetski in the lagoon on the French side. I visit vicariously now through RU-vid until next time.. Great video, thanks!
Thanks Bill. I hope you get the chance to go back and explore and share even more of the island in another video. I have been going to SXM since I bought my first timeshare there back in 1990. It is my favorite Caribbean island (both sides) and my home away from home. Cheers and best to you.
