Because Fender is so out of its own marketing depths that it refused to do something more out of its boring standards with John Mayer, leaving him to land one of the most successful endorsement deals with PRS, but they are happily willing to slap together the same old parts with a fancy star name on it, regardless the fact that said star is hardly recognized as a proficient guitar player.
@@bryanlemeilleurtexas Agree. Built a tele with a warmoth body and musikraft neck and it's the best guitar i own. It also cost less than half what I paid for my others.
The video is cool and all, but is strange when a signature artist doesn’t appear in a video for his signature guitar. You see the amount of passion and tought that Eric Johnson and Jason Isbell (among others) have when talking about their own signature instruments. You WANT to play them! Don’t get me wrong, this looks like a really good strat; but that’s about it.
Just curious why Fender always says it’s a limited edition but never says how many are being made? As a collector of guitars I’d like to know this information.
lately i have been asking myself the same question about Fender and Gibson. At vintage guitar fairs you always find these 10,000 euro/dollar rare Gibsons and Fenders. But then you see them at every fair and online, so i wonder , how rare are the old models and how limited are the limited editions?
A person at Fender who is so far up their own vintage ass that they think they still live in 1974. It's not gonna do well with anything harder and modern.
And someone like TREVOR RABIN is still waiting for being recognized by Fender after playing his customized Strat for 50 years now. I mean, he has always been influential as well.
I kinda rolled my eyes when I saw this at first, but honestly I think he did a better job than most developing a signature model. I definitely dig the specs
See, now this is a Signature model I can get behind. It's got the right amount of aesthetic and personal touches that really make it worth it. It has a unique finish, gold hardware, nice aging (without it being a ridiculous relic model), the oversized headstock without the bullet (I like the oversized headstocks on '70s models, I just hate those bullets and three-hole backplates that normally come with them), the sculpted heel from the Elite models, locking tuners and a noiseless/humbucker pickup in the bridge that still looks like a single coil (I love the classic look of an SSS Stratocaster; aesthetically, I don't like HSS models). Bruno did a great job picking this out. This is what you should be doing if you're lucky enough to get a personal guitar built by Fender. There have been so many Signature models that, other than having "specially-voiced" pickups and maybe a custom finish, aren't that different to an American Professional model. I'd just buy the American Professional instead.
lol @ all the people who don’t realize Bruno mars is an awesome player. Also does keys, drums, bass, sings, writes, composes, etc… Expand your horizons people
I wouldn't say he's an awesome player cuz that's stretching it a little bit but he's not bad for an artist adding another instrument/outlet to his already phenomenal arsenal of talents/skill set. He is still on the learning path but seems to picks things up quickly as far as anything musically related. Still he's an incredible artist no doubt. 🤟
Bruno Mars should be reviewing his own guitar and showing his amazing skills on the instrument because he is known for being a revolutionary and visionary guitar player.
Apparently some here never bothered to catch how after Elvis he took on Hendrix! I shredder that girls want to..well shed for.. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SNAIq6n9S2g.htmlsi=zo_q8Zneaxlrqbkg
Unexpected and cool. Mars is a hell of a talent. Consistently great and versatile! I’d have hoped Bruno himself would demo this though. I’m not saying the demo individual was bad (bravo sir) ❤ well done.
I laughed at first when I read this, but ya know what? Fender sales would quadruple the ones from the 2020 pandemic guitar rush if they could swing that. BUT..... she already has a endorsement deal with someone else.
@@SandauxBeats Hi! I did some research and I'm utterly surprised: Taylor Guitar Company has made a Taylor Swift signature "Baby Taylor" model based on the original Baby Taylor and she does own & play various custom made Taylor guitars, but the guitar company itself only gives discounts to it's artists who play them because the guitars are handmade & crafted so she has to pay for them. WOW!!! 😮 And as you stated she plays Gibsons (No endorsement deal) and lately a Fender Johnny Marr Jazzmaster (No endorsement either). It's true: You learn something new everyday. Best Wishes!!!
Remember when Prince first came on to the scene and we thought he was just another pop star, and then we witnessed his massive talent as a guitar player? Remember when John Mayer first came out? We all thought he was just another acoustic pop star, and then we were shocked to see him playing guitar like an idol. Well, let's see what Bruno Mars is going to Shock us with.
The big headstock, black text Fender, brown color, and black pickguard scream 70s. Bruno should have just leaned into but hey it’s pretty obvious he doesn’t actually care that much about this signature guitar.
And to be clear, I love Bruno Mars. My hate is directed to whoever thinks taking a neck off a guitar to make a slight adjustment is still a good idea in 2023.
Why would they even bother to say it’s an artist limited edition when he himself is not promoting it? Is his signature even on this guitar? Are those special pickups configure for his taste?
I like some of the Bruno songs, wtf does he know about guitars?? I kid I kid, I know he plays but how many other people know that, Fender?? And at $2999.99 we couldn’t get his signature on his SIGNATURE guitar??
I haven't watched the ad yet, just popped up in the feed, but doesn't look like what I'd want for that price again as usual. If I was playing in public pretty often I would probably want the Johnny Marr Jaguar a lot more than some of my other things.
I just took possession of a new lake placid blue Fender American Vintage II 1973 Strat...trying to decide whether I like it or not. I must say it's an absolutely gorgeous instrument. As a Les Paul player, the Strat is a bit tricky to get in tune...I may just need to get used to it. I love the dark headstock face and the contrast between the lighter maple neck. Pretty much the same as this BM Strat. Cheers! 🙂
Just ordered 2 Fender Bruno Mars for our Woodstock Recording Studio - one to play for our clients and one just as a investment ( who knows 😀). we are curious about it ✌️
Looks great especially with white pickguard! But I have a question; the guy in the video says it rides between the late 60's and early 70s. He also says black pickguard is a 70s thing. From my knowledge the black pickguards didn't appears until ´76. So it's a mishmash of years, right? What Bruno wants to look at; not what is historically correct? 🤔
Seems like Fender standard production is almost just signature models, and if you want just a “normal” vintage-style strat you must spend 4.500-5.000 euros for a Custom Shop, since the American Vintage II series has only 2-3 colors per model (and I can’t understand why there are such classic colours missing, like black on the 57 Strat). The world upside down: do you want a super-normal vintage strat? Go custom. Do you want a fancy artist signature model with strange colours and finishes? There it is from the standard production. Please give us the fifties and sixties back.
I have a 69 Fender Precision w/Jazz Neck at the time custom color, Ocean Turquoise, block inlay on rosewood neck/bought at the music store I worked for in 1969. 2024 and Fender Custom Shop says "Sorry we won't touch it because you don't have a receipt"; although I do have owners manual with name of "assembler - E Paxton", only Custom Shop in Colorado is HB Woodsong, Boulder. I thought Fender had control of their channel. I believe HB Woodsong is telling Fender that no receipt, no work. If they would do this to a Senior, think what they'll do to YOU. Buyer Beware.
Beautiful guitar - sounds great with Artur playing dressed up to look like Bruno. Maybe why Bruno asked him to play??? But for $3000... Very lame not having Bruno there to promote his own guitar. Makes you wonder how much say he really had in guitar vs Fender just attaching his name on it and upcharging. Hey Fender - if you create a signature guitar for me, I will be there for sure!!!
honestly love all the specs of this thing... and confirmed the truss rod adjust. Yeah in northern climates that is an absotule deal breaker. I mean who wants to take the neck off to adjust the truss rod?? I can care less about that vintage esthetic that makes zero sense
The Bite, The Growl, That Vintage Modern Aged Slick Classic Strat Tone and Feel… Absolutely meaningless buzz words by now. For yet another recycled parts instrument that sure looks and sounds good, but by today's standards is just another average guitar :/
How do release a signature guitar without demonstrating or at least featuring in the video?? *Kmt Great guitar, great demo, hate the marketing. Couldn't afford an interview?
That's nothing Fender... Just like Mayer designed his version of an S-style guitar, my friend Joe Bonamassa and me just did the same with certain single cut guitar. Sadly Joe couldn't appear in the demo... but it's going to be KILLER.
