Wow, I always thought the microcosm was kinda overrated. Now I know why everybody likes it that much. It's an absolute BEAST on kicks! You blew my mind. Keep it up!
Great combination of gear. I use the interrupt on the microcosm a lot. Don’t know a lot about modular but it doesn’t look like the type of thing that has a midi out to connect to the microcosm?
Your techno from scratch videos inspire me to make music with my Digitakt, you're doing great things with the Microcosm. Thank you for sharing with us, Ihor!
DFAM into Microcosm into Roland TR8S. You can sync DFAM with trigger out from TR8S. You can sequence the trigger out, too, so you can get poly metrics with the DFAM sequencer! The Master FX on TR8S can also effect DFAM.
Is DFAM into microcosm the new rings into clouds? Lol thank you for your videos! I was literally thinking of pairing DFAM with beads or even qu bit data bender. DFAM is absolutely a beast.
the DFAM and MOOG Studio 3-tier bundle was one of my first analog purchases (perhaps ill-advised by some, but I wanted those filters and analog sounds and it was a nice bundle), and I've been struggling to get the kick sounds I'd like (hard, techno-oriented) and think what I'll end up doing is getting a kick module and just using the dfam for weirdness which is what I've had most of my fun using it for. This is a fun video and def. shows what kind of things it can do when you stop thinking of it as a specific utility. I also like using the FM to make speech-like sounds.
Great showcase of the DFAM as an amazing piece of kit for the studio. I'm now also more convinced that the Microcosm has something of its own to offer above my Data Bender + reverb modular combo.
Ah this is great, expanded my ideas of how I can use this pedal. I picked one up a month ago while in a covid fever dream 😂 Been playing around with ambient guitar, nice to consider some other options 🎉
More great content, I find your videos very inspirational even if I don't own the exact gear it gives me ideas for stuff I already own. Although I have been eying up both of these for a while. (The never-ending shopping list lol) Keep up the good work 👏.
Very inspiring again, true master! Do you think you could achieve same result with a bigsky? Before i empty my bank account again to get a microcosm :)
Hi Ihor my friend very interesting although I could not afford either of these as all my cash goes on Modules for Eurorack but might be a further Vidio hitching up Pallette case with this, maybe Digitakt as well , sample Dfam into then slice up process , Sequence?????? As I’ve said before like to see you put case together for Live sets, two of my favourite Vids u have doneCLEP one and the INSIST one combining the two in one case???? 👍🆒🌟🌟🎶🎶🎶🔱🇬🇧🕸⚡️👁😎👽
My Palette is getting ready for the next video! For the live gig I am thinking to get the 7U Performance case. And lots modules… which is a bit challenging. You know the price haha
@@IhorMedia yes GAS is extortionant and it dosnt help with so many new modules released before we’ve learnt ones we got it’s perpetual, like new NE Polydactyl so beat goes on for must haves 😃 Have good weekend, await next instalment 🆒👍🎶🎶🎶👁
Nice!!! Loved example three. Been eyeing the Microcosm. It seems to have a mind of its own and doesn't stay exactly on the beat. Great suggestion about recording and then selecting the part to loop that is sync.
@@IhorMedia It is a bitcrusher + analog filter + glitch/stutter sort of box. To me it seems like if you added a reverb unit with some weird modes on it after the Ottobit, it would basically be a Microcosm, or at least very similar.
My problem with the Microcosm is that it will just go off and do its own thing. Instead of complimenting you playing it, it will hijack the performance.
I can definitely see that happening! And that's true for most of the presets, I guess. However when you clock it, it does a good job! Presets like Pattern, Seq or even a bit of Interrupt should be great for performing. But that is in theory :) I should do more live performances to learn what works and what doesn't.
