I must say, great video. I do apologize for the story being incoherent at times. My girlfriend broke up with me in late April, it's killed my motivation to upload or archive anything for some while. I'll get back to it. As for the ap test members, somethings always struck me as off. Something I haven't been able to recreate. The player that joined and blew up my house was AP_TEST_MEMBER-3. For some reason, their skin was different from the regular default Steve skins of the others. I still haven't figured out why. Checking namemc shows that this account has never officially existed, nor could it even exist because it contains invalid characters. So, how did I see them? And how were they able to change their skin if the account never even "existed"?
I figured you used a texture pack of some sort? I remember changing char.png to my skin in older versions, where skins stopped being supported. This was before I learned about BetaCraft lol.
Well, I must say, this ARG feels like a student film project, in a way. It may not be some grand arthouse production with a bajilion codes, metaphors and secrets, but it does have its' charm. And it even feels complete with "Where we stood", where the characters reconcile with eachother and even watch the sunset. I feel sorry for the break-up you had to go through. I understand that it could've taken all your motivation. We've all been there before. Keep improving your craft, listen to the criticism under this video, and should you want to make another one, your next ARG will be even better! Though here's a few tips from me to make it stand out from other ARGs: - Use other codes than morse, caesar or vinegar, in order to make the audiance really scratch their heads at first - Maybe use the spectogram - Come up with a different monster design than a black, null-like figure. The Steve was a nice touch, and made sense lore-wise! - Keep the desktop details consistent. A modern Chrome icon in supposedly 2010 can really break one's immersion. You can find the icons ans guides online on how to swap them. That's all from me! Take care, and good luck!
I'll be real here, been a bit fed up after this entire "Slots Available" ARG where they worship bees with Steve's face. But nonetheless, Minecraft ARGs are always welcome
@@lallide I honestly really enjoy "Minecraft Alpha 1.0.16 Versions", because of Its' depth and few details. For example, on one of the desktop recordings is shown as a minor detail of a video tutorial on how to defeat a boss in a video game (Shadow Of The Colossus I believe?). However, said boss doesn't exist in our timeline's version of SoTC. This, among other details, makes the setting feel like It's truly and alternate timeline where Minecraft and other video games had a different path of development.
lmao yeah I'm friends with MAPMA's creator (I've actually shared a few ideas recently so stay tuned) and he told me that he met Mark101 on discord and the dude's pretty chill
you can beat the AP test members by showing them a tweet of notch saying that you can pirate the game as long as you will buy it one day. Notch's word is law
Gotta agree with Notch on that one. I wish all paid games had like a 1-day free trial or something like that. I hate how many games I’ve paid for and ended up regretting because I wasn’t in to them :(
for real, on a good few occasions, i've bought a game i've pirated because i liked it so much. one example is pac-man championship edition DX, that game is fun as hell despite just being pacman
something i wanna point out in the singular video the ap team made is that it says "Wallpaper made by Mark101." which is a reference to another arg, the 1.0.16 versions
Look I'm going to get people some tips, don't use binary, don't use morse code, make up your own monsters. And for the love of god, it's not analog, don't use "Glitch" effects on your game unless it's something in Minecraft lol.
@@minecraftalphagameplay This isn't me insulting the creator, it's me giving advice to any future creators and giving constructive criticism to the original creator.
For the creatures, ghost, and monsters, they should import custom made models instead of using dark shadowy figures in the background. If they cant mod or import the model they can probably use CGI and edit it in the footage. i think this may work for any other related video game args.
@@minecraftvideoarchives nah it's ok I can understand that you may not have the software needed to do that. I would say it's hard to mod things along with modeling, really I haven't really seen anybody import custom monsters or entities into their Minecraft arg. It's not really needed because your story doesn't have anything paranormal but idk if you're going to do that soon.
btw, good that you said that, minecraft had custom models before, remember the indev days? there was even a test video of notch running away from deformed quake 3 models attacking him
the funny thing is, minecraft ALREADY had an anti-piracy measure, on the top left it shows "unauthorized copy :(", simple as that, making this whole 'oooo spoopy copy' even less believable
args dont have to be 100% believable like no shit a "cursed version of minecraft" doesnt exist because curses don't exist in real life, it's just a fictional passion project
@@user-is7xs1mr9y They're nostalgic but nostalgic=/=good. The old textures weren't good and they didn't stick to any kind of pixel scaling (there were tons of pixel scaling issues in mobs); it's obvious the team has gotten better at texturing over time (though ofc some new textures are misses, most however look great)
One thing I noticed, you assumed that the version of Minecraft in the video "First Contact" was version 1.0, and also commented on the Steam icon being of the modern version. In the video however, there is also an Enderman, Endermen weren't added to Minecraft until beta 1.8, so it's my impression that this must be some alternate timeline of sorts, where the release dates of certain games, software, etc are jumbled and not in correlation with our own.
Beta 1.9? the Tests/Pre-Releases of 1.0? mabye that's what version it is =D Also for the steam Icon they prob just didn't know how to change it for the ARG /=
he's saying that he's assuming the version is release 1.0, which came out a few months after beta 1.8. endermen would've been in the game beta versions of the game also said "beta" in the title screen, e.g. "Minecraft Beta 1.8"
The thing that ticks me off is that Swedes does not ONLY speak Swedish, they can also speak English (Timestamp for context: 25:46) Edit: I think its an hyperbole or maybe actually, Swedes ONLY speak English.
Not everyone can make ARGs their first go around but I can agree with most this first try was perfect in some ways or another. Im someone who loves to theorize everything, and enjoy horror even if it makes my insomnia worse at times but I've always wanted to make my owm ARG just not sure which gama to try yet. Minecraft is sadly my safes option right now. (Edits note) Sorry for the bad English at times phone weirdly loves to autocorrect the wrong words.
Amazing video only thing I would recommend is not putting the full clip without breaking it down would be amazing to break it down while the video plays in clip bits
I imagine nowadays the worst you could download, beyond the typical keylogger, password sniffers and identity theft methods, would be some bitcoin miner that drains CPU usage and bandwidth.
If they're capable of crashing the device of the user and constantly seem to have some kind of high access level on his content, why don't they uninstall the pirated copy manually...??
Potato vision is because it's supposed to be old footage, but what I don't understand is why no audio? Gameplays from that time had audio, I was there.
I am begging you, please enunciate your words. I am subbing because the content seems good and your editing is high quality, but I legitimately cannot watch more than a couple of minutes because you slur so many words together and talk so quickly.
I agree. This is no hate whatsoever but it would help tremendously to improve his channel. Last night I was watching another one of his videos but he was speaking so damn fast I had to put the video on .75 speed, but then I had a hard time making up what he was saying half of the time.
