Oh cool, I’m answering comments over my morning coffee! Cheers! Good luck on your van build, it’s a lot of work but I bet you’ll love the final result!
Going back to view some of your older videos and since this is 10 minutes from my home thought I would comment. I know history is not your thing but the Battle of Blakley is an even more somber event in that it took place in May of 1865 and the war had actually ended in the prior month of April but the news had not gotten to Mobile yet so they fought a battle that was totally unnecessary! The Delta is an incredible wonder. The Mobile-Tensaw Delta is the second largest delta system in the Americas only smaller that the Amazon. If fact the Delta is referred to as "Americas Amazon". I have kayaked all through it and camped out on all the floating platforms that the state maintains. The bio-diversity in the Delta is something to behold. Gators are prevalent but rarely dangerous. Gators that bother people do not live long enough to grow very large. Come back and kayak here some day!
Ah man, me and a work buddy took our kids there last wknd for an overnighter! If you're ever in Alabama again i hope ypu get to do some more exploring! There are some hidden gems across our state.
@@BeerinBeautifulPlaces it's a cool place but it's sort of ridiculously priced for what it is. I live about an hour north of Spanish Fort and we have another State Park close but it's kind of meh at best. That being said the Sipsey Wilderness, and Cheaha are just awesome! The Pinhoti trail runs through Cheaha and there's a bunch of other good stuff in the park itself. Anyway, if you're ever back down this way again just holler! The Oysters at the Bluegill restaraunt on the causeway are always fire and Fairhope has a really good microbrewery.
Oh Maddie, history is awesome, sometimes not pleasant but always interesting. History shaped this great country. Also, it's always 5 pm somewhere. I always go by Dublin time before cracking the first one! Ha. Happy trails
You're right, that's a great perspective to have. I'll keep that in mind next time I go to a historic site. I'm headed West so it's probably going to be some Native American history!
That tree was super cool. Be great to have that in your front yard for halloween. Have something scary jump out of it LOL. I bet that hike in the midst of summer would be miserable with the heat, humidity & bugs

I love your videos and your spunk. I have to admit I was holding my breath the whole time you were walking through those trails in shorts and sneakers. I was so worried about rattlesnakes🤢🤢🤢
Since it’s still a little chilly, I think most reptiles are conserving body heat somewhere instead of out and about. That being said, there’s no such things as being too careful. Thank you for reminding me!
Hello! I believe the tree is called a "Live Oak". It is found in southern states. They are so beautiful. No Gator wrestling today!! LOL The view by the gazebo was stunning! Safe travels! 🐊🥃
Oh yeah, I knew it was a live oak! The live oak in South Carolina and another one in this park had an individual name, so I thought this tree might have one too!
Not sure why but I was expecting there to be like a hidden underground bunker in the tree lol. Alabama seams pretty cool tho! When I start traveling outside Canada I'll definitely need to check it out!
Maddie! You didn’t get enough alligators in FL, you needed to search for them in AL too, lol. Congrats on hitting the over 1/2 way point. I look forward to seeing you in MS!
Loving the trip through the US. I hope you stop forgetting to mention your Patreon page a the end of your videos. I have noticed it has grown :) Hope you make enough quickly to get that computer. We have great Cypress Knees at CaveHill Cemetary. They are beautiful.
Oh lordy, she said "Right now,,,, I'm living in my..." It's the beginning of the end. The end's the best part I suppose.. I mean if it wasn't why you were watching, it kinda is now. We just hope Ma'ads comes back around to talk about yellow, or hieroglyphics, or whatever the heck distracted her from yellow and hieroglyphics. Ok, I think I've adequately microscoped an innocuous enough moment from an ignorant and assumptive perspective, at once making an ass of me and misspelling motive. But you gotta know to look for it. Carry on ma'am.
An allergy to fire ants is like an invitation to a horrible time in the South. Just a little extra misery on top of the humidity and sweat in your eyes.
Yep, I discovered that allergy one of my first weeks when I lived in Texas! I lived there for a little less than a year, but luckily, that was the only bite I got there
And here's where I dorkily say, "No seriously, I had no idea you were gonna say that".. "and yes, I've seriously submitted this much to the comments at 1:50.. did she say couscous? I'm lost, cause that's what you say when you say what I just said..
OMG a recent video you felt ok to use someone else’s fire pit and some wood coming from other’s campground as well. Now you feel is ok to use showers that others like I pay for while staying there. OMG seriously? This is not nomads style but Hobo and truly disturbing. Stop talking advantage of us who pay and follow rules. Is called disrespect and stealing. SMH.
I’m so sorry that’s been your impression of what I’ve been doing. Actually, when I used a nearby fire pit, a car had parked close to it, but there were a bunch of fire pits spread around a big field at everyone chose their own spot in. So none of of fire pits or picnic tables “belonged” to anyone. It was a free campsite. I wasn’t stealing from anyone. And the wood I used I gathered and then a fellow camper gave me some as a gift, so not sure where the confusion was there. As for the shower situation, I did pay an entrance fee to get in that state park. There was no signs about showers being for campers only and the building was on a main road, not like I sneaked into the campsite. If I would’ve seen anyone that worked there, I would’ve asked. ****Please realize that I would never steal from anyone or purposely break rules. **** I guess I’ll have to be more clear in explaining exactly what I’m doing, to keep myself from ever creating that impression from people watching my videos again. Thanks for making me aware of that!
@@BeerinBeautifulPlaces Hi Maddie, Meh Carmen's post was a bit harsh. The vibe I get from your videos is that you are supremely conscientious of your impact on your surroundings. Also your interactions and respect that you've shown for others reveals a lot about your integrity. Keep sharing the great videos. We're looking forward to another dose of your adventures!
