I do really love those crossingy things haha, and dry plain crumpets, and travelling along the stations around along around along Morecambe Bay!

Ulverston used to be the interchange station for the long-closed Lakeside branch - you could get straight off one train and onto another on that unusual island platform! Great vlog - shame you had to take Northern's trains though!

The area where those old coaches are at Carnforth is West Coast Railways Carnforth Steamtown, it is a huge site! but it does have Diesel and Steam Locomotives as well on that site. At 1:51 they did used to be platforms on the WCML (4 platforms in total) but they were removed. 6:59, TransPennine Express Class 185 DMUs did used to go to Barrow-in-Furness think they started from Manchester Airport, they ran as six coaches to Preston, uncouple them and 3 coaches went to Blackpool and 3 coaches to Barrow-in-Furness. But it ended up changing into Northern Rail, at one point think they did used TPE's 185 on loan to Northern so they was some 185s on Northern services,12:32 had to look twice at that... thought it said local tit at first PMSL!!!! but defiantly a brilliant video indeed. However... I have done that line to Barrow-in-Furness in the past and also got off at Silverdale... but when I visited Silverdale, I travelled behind this photo from my Flickr which is with this comment :D www.flickr.com/photos/47384914@N04/37437824365/in/photolist-Z3fCSr-YK7tgb-YHspVL-XbgreF-MRdRG3-FLMxJW-G63m9K-G3JfMw-zgaiJr-zg7PPn-yT2oA6

How to brighten up your day .... watch a vlog from GLovesTrains that's how. Arnside will forever be known as Arseside 🤣🤣 just one of the many things that make you laugh in this vlog. Love the shot of the train from 5:48 onward, love the joy you convey when crossing over the train lines, the scenery and how you filmed it is spectacular, the wonderful steam train and last but not least your T-Shirt slogan. As always looking forward to the next one.

Oh, and the Cark & Cartmel thing... Right, so... There’s a nearby village called Cartmel, and the station is in between two villages, one called Cark, and one called.. yeah.. you guessed it.... Flookburgh... Um... yeah. It’s a massive walk to Cartmel. So it makes no sense. But they do have THE BEST sticky toffee pudding in the country though....

Carnforth, where David Lean filmed some scenes for his most boring film. I used to be a part-time projectionist at the David Lean cinema in Croydon. We used to screen his films from time to time, and Brief Encounter was my least favourite. Ithink Great Expections was his best. You've been to Carnforth, in another video you were at Lostock Hall, and you've been to Burnley, so you probably went through Rose Grove, sites of three of the last BR steam depots. The coal and ash plants still survive at carnforth, one of them was seen in your video, but nothing survives at Lostock Hall or Rose Grove. You've been to Burnley? What would John Cooper Clarke think? He doesn't want to go to Burnley.

Oi oi Virgin red and black livery 😆😆 really want to visit carnforth just for the older mk2s and some hopefully good ol diesels 🙃🙃 if you want to get more confused then Bristol Temple Meads has 15 platforms but the last platform is 16 and (i think) 15 is missing but all the others are still there 😅😅

I’m terribly old, so remember Ulverston being a staffed station. In those days the staff would have a bridge on wheels to cross to the island platform. I think it was made like that so you could get off the train on one side to go into town or the other to get on the branch train to Lakeside (on Windermere). By the way, I do a radio programme on Transport stuff. Be good to meet up to do an interview sometime in the future.

Great vlog G! Amazing as always. I agree. Seeing all the stations, they could do with some more benches to them for sure. There were a lot of Sexy trains out there too. The views were stunning. The station at the end though looked creepy and rather odd at the same time. The platform thing confused me as well. I think that they just need to change the platform signage. Keep up the good work and we will see what the next one brings!

Hops on a 156 goes straight to the toilet love it! XD Another brilliant video too! About Ulverston's station layout was like that because it was an interchange station, so if you wanted to get off at the station you'd get off at P1 but if you wanted to use the junction you'd get off onto the island platform instead of crossing the line.

So funny when you set the dog barking! 😮🐕‍🦺 Anyway, those crossing-y things that you used to cross the track. great video i go to carnforth alot, its quite a famous station and the old steam town museum were you saw the old coaches used to be a big attraction oh though i was to young to remember it i managed to get a ride on the miniature railway before it went, i still walk behind the old museum alot to see the steam locos and rolling stock from west coast railways, arnside is also nice with the viaduct and i can definitely recommend the chip shop there, i also think but not 100% sure but the lakeside & haverthwaite steam railway used to go from lakeside to ulverston so that mite be what the disused platform was for. keep up the vids, thanks for sharing, Tom
