2022 Specialized Epic Evo FSR Mountain Bike
The Spec : www.certini.co.uk/bikes/mount...
The Epic EVO is well-acquainted with the fact that the next ridgeline makes a perfectly good finish line too, offering an incredible combination of pedaling efficiency and impressive trail-taming capability to get you there faster.
While the Epic EVO sees a seemingly modest 20mm increase in suspension travel up front over its Epic stablemate and just 10mm out back, Specialized have worked overtime to make sure it’s been implemented in a way that’ll have you saying ‘Whoa!’ as soon as you hit your first stretch of singletrack.
Meticulously engineered to retain as much of the Epic’s standard-setting efficiency as possible, the EVO’s new suspension kinematics work in concert with the Rx XC shock tune to ensure you're able to make the absolute most out of every inch of travel on tap, while still offering increased anti-squat characteristics for improved pedaling efficiency.
With plenty of practice at staying ahead of the curve, the Epic EVO now lays claim to the most capable version of Progressive XC Geometry ever to grace an Epic. It’s also more versatile than ever thanks to a new flip chip-equipped rear end that allows riders to adjust headtube angle and bottom bracket height to easily customise the Epic EVO’s handling characteristics.
Epic EVO’s flyweight FACT 11m carbon frame features heavy-hitting SRAM components and RockShox suspension for a package tailor-made for making miles disappear faster than ever.
Flip It To Rip It: Tune the ride of the Epic EVO’s FACT 11m carbon frame to match your preferred handling characteristics with flip-chip simplicity that allows riders to reduce the EVO’s headtube angle by half a degree while lowering bottom bracket height by 10mm.
The Reba RL doles out travel with a steady hand courtesy of RockShox's Motion Control damper, while SoloAir adjustability makes dialing in suspension performance a breeze.
SRAM’s NX Eagle drivetrain is the benchmark for affordable high performance, delivering crisp shifting and a massive 450% gear range.

The cairn after the climb from Howden Res is close to the highest point in South Yorkshire “high stones” near Margery Hill. All the best

I did some of those tracks last weekend when about 150 riders rode the first edition of the Tor Divide. 150 or 240km options. I slept out near Curbar edge. I had to HAB quite a bit too.

Ah the Tor Divide was an official event? Saw it flash up on strava - thought it was just someone's witty naming! I'll have to look out for that next time - that's a lot of gravel in the Peaks - much more than I've ridden so far. Hope it was fun!

Put flat pedals on it until you get used to the mountain bike experience. I ride flats all the time.

Maybe I'll switch back some day... just been on two further bikepacking adventures well beyond a day in the peak district which are just training me to get used to them. Waiting on some mtb shoes to arrive in the next few days that'll help compared to no-grip gravel shoes.

@BikepackingAdventures like you I'm a roadie just getting into MTB. If you have decent non clip in pedals and MTB specific flat shoes you will be amazed at the grip

They are pretty good - never really looks good on camera. Not a long battery life though so anything serious I'll stick with my exposure lights.

I'm now 60 & after the years of breaking bits of myself I've become a complete ponce ,I really can't see the point in those hike a bike sections ,What does make me laugh is when walking groups panic & don't know what side to go or some one calls their dog over & it runs straight under your wheel nearly .

Yeah, many times I witness the waves partying in mysterious ways - I always shout well in advance because so unpredictable.
