Impressed by the manner Venus handled everything. She has that chill confidence that makes one really want to listen intently to what she's saying. Nice execution.
My father grew up in Tondo during World War II and ultimately graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with his MD. Planning to finally go to the Philippines and retrace his youth soon. I love your Vlog.
There are interesting places in Manila that one can self tour or sightsee. But having been on a tour with Venus, I can attest to her knowledge and ability to navigate around Manila and it's very enjoyable. Whether it's the day tour or night tour in Manila, she's informative and knows a lot, just wear comfortable shoes and bring small bills if you want to shop for bargains at the markets.
Oh I wish I were traveling with you right now!! Love all the crazy streets and open markets to shop at and those kids are just the cutest! I can totally see how easy it would be to get lost without a tour guide. You are making me hungry for some crispy pata, halo halo and chicken adobo! Thanks for bringing us along on your tours of Manila!
Well now, that was definitely a slice of life video. Venus gives a real flavour of the daily life lived by a large part of the population. You were an attraction and even a cop wanted to pose so he could be in the foreigners video. Venus gives a stellar tour. Navigating the traffic is always a delicate mix of being bold enough to cross the road, but not too bold or you'll get run over. Knowing the difference is something that you have to learn, as pedestrians having the right of way is a foreign concept that doesn't exist. This was a great video.
Yeap, Makati is the business center with the Philippine Stock Exchange building. Pasay City has the Mall of Asia. Parañaque has the International airport and Taguig has the BGC, Manila City has Divisoria the main shopping mall of people at the lower bracket of Filipino enterprenours. Where products like food, cloths, shoes, school supplies, house hold items and other anything under the sun are cheap and easy on the pockets of ordinary Pinoys.😊😜🙂
@@uriahthehittite2309 yeah opinyon mo yan pero ang kasabihin natin "walang forever". "The only constant in the world is change". For better or worse everything changes. Wala tayong magagawa dyan. Tungkol dito sa lugar ng Divisoria, lokal na gobyerno dapat makiaalam o gumawa ng mga hakbang dyan. Wishful thinking nalang tayo kung ipagpipilit natin ang gusto nating gawin nating sarili.
Great video Alina! Venus was really an important guide to introduce us to these nice districts of this wonderful city. Its amazing little markets full of local products are amazing and we can watch and admire real Manila better. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Alina, you appear to be really enjoying yourself in the Philippines, albeit, it appears very humid/sticky! Just some interesting observations & facts regarding the Philippines & Filipino peoples, certainly that myself & many others have commented on & discussed. The Filipino people are so friendly, so beautiful & sweet, both inside & out. There are approximately 50 to 51 varying ethnic groups within the Philippines, which i find so extraordinary! There's much beauty abound too, specifically within the Spanish Filipino community, but also other mixed ethnic or Indigenous Filipino ethnic groups. When i travelled there many years ago, i was struck by how beautiful some of the women were, so much so, that i even witnessed numerous Caucasian/European tourists staring @ the young ladies and even asking them on dates etc;. There are a few European male vloggers too, who've been there & have commented on how gorgeous some of the women were that they saw within shopping malls and within different venues, etc;, as they travelled across the country. There are countless Caucasian/European Westerners now married to Filipino women. Interestingly, the Faroese men have also married many Filipino women & there's even a famous documentary about this. The mixed Faroese/Filipino gene pool, is now well & truly entrenched within the Faroe Islands. They say the Asian women are beautiful & this is why they choose to marry them. There are also many German men & other European's who have married Filipino women too. Their children are all so adorable! Filipino people are very warm/polite/friendly/sociable & they seem to fit in well wherever they go, hence why i think it's so easy for men to meet and fall in love with the women of the Philippines. This video is really nice & showcases the amazing humans of the Philippines. The wee children are so adorable, curious and friendly too! Thanks for sharing & Peace.
I'm impressed with your abilities to get out of your comfort zone. Good job documenting the harsh life in PI, how the otherside lives. Smart to get Venus as a tour guide. Great job Venus! Now, as a rite of passage you must try to eat a BALUT. 😉😘
Experiencing tricycle and jeepney before leaving the Philippines is awesome. This is the only vlog that shows much about the street that is crowded lol I haven't seen it in some vlogs.
Real gauge of how safe a woman can walk in the streets of Manila is by merely looking at your guide. That is the kind of wear that we'd advise as inappropriate because she can get cat-called or sexually harassed but no. You went in, went out safely. If they see a foreigner walking alone, as long as the foreigner is friendly, they'd be more safe than a local like your guide.
Yes that part is the Old Manila. Nice you visited the oldest china town in the world in Binondo Manila. Nice Manila Tour. Enjoy the big city of Manila.
My friend Stanley many years ago took me on a Tour of Divisoria Market. I remember it to be very busy and the locals being very friendly. You are spot on to tour with a guide who can help you navigate the area and explain to you what you're looking at. A great tour that brings back pleasant memories. Sending you much love 🙏❤🙏 Harriet, Jim and Yuki. Richmond, Va.
She’s a very good tour guide 💯 as a filipino, i am very happy to see a foreigner visits my country. That’s why some filipino say “hi” or approach you and have a small chat. Because we are very much happy and welcome you to our country. Filipinos are definitely very very friendly and chatty! Even our first language is not english, we can do conversational english. But yeah, its not a perfect english. But its fine, right? :)
My son and his girlfriend had a 3 day layover in Manilla (cheapest flight from UK to Australia). They went off-piste with no issues and best of all, she was Vegan. As this is a Moslem country so are a lot of restaurants, so they were well happy and felt safe. He was a former marine however.
Alina, you made it to my homeland. To get the best experience, you gotta hit the provinces in different islands. Manila is too congested and fast pace. Try going to Cebu and Bohol for a slower pace.
Awesome and interesting vlog. Another side of Manila. I’ve seen a couple of foreign vloggers that actually been to Divisoria, Tondo etc. in the past. Can’t wait for your next vlog.👍🏼❤️
Alina, this is EXCELLENT! You probably have doscovered a LOT of areas in Manila in the very short span of time that you've been there. And pls try as many cuisines as you can:).
Dobro utro. After I watched this video, it automatically went to another one of your videos and heard you spoke Russian 😊. I admire you going to those places that I never dare tried during my visits. But yeah, you gave me an idea to reach out to a local to give me a tour also. Spasiba! Enjoy your stay in the Philippines.
Hi from Winnipeg. You are so brave even with a local guide. You are standing out like a sore thumb there. But I am glad you were safe and was able to get around without any incidents. I grew up in Mandaluyong, a town border of Manila and I don't frequent or dare go to Tondo by myself. Great video.
Thanks for visiting Philippines Alina😍try to visit also in the northern part of the country. PANGASINAN my province, visit hundred Island 🏝 or Ilocos province. Thank you 😊 and take care!
I thoroughly enjoy traveling with you. I appreciate greatly your attention to detail and proper planning. You really make me want to travel to the destinations you have visited. Thank you, thank you for your knowledge and Grace. Keep the videos coming and safe travels. You are definitely being "your own kind of beautiful".
I was thinking about a short trip to the Filipines. But there was no “click”. Until this vlog. Ok, let’s book the ticket from Paris, in March. Manila here I come! ( and hopefully no covid loaded airplanes from China)
Manila consisted of 16 Major Cities like Makati, Taguig, Quezon City, Marikina, Mandaluyong, Pasay, Pasig, etc, and the City of Manila. Where the City of Manila is the capital. The City of Manila is in Manila. Manila is a region and Now they called it Metro Manila.
WOW! You have to be there to experience this!! Between the motorcycles and the people, I'm surprised that more injuries do not happen. Looks like you really have to pay attention and be ready for anything. Thanks to your guide it was easy to follow you, good job, Alina for choosing to share with her. So many things to talk about here, but you did it well. Br safe there, hope to see more from you about this area, there is surely enough going on there you will need a long time to cover it all. As usual you are in the drivers seat, so continue on...there are always surprises with you on any of your shows!!! From your friends, Michael & Alona!! Cheers!!!! ❤😎👍😊
Hey alina McLeod nice tour en real manila nice , gente, temperatura , mercado , frutas , recorrido seguro, nice Filipina friend , city hall manila , buena entrevista en el recorrido y vos te miras bonita ! en tu descripcion
Long before the Spanish came to this country and named Las Islas Filipinas, there were different kingdom in different Island of the archipelago. And the Kingdom of Tondo was one the formidable Kingdom. Chinese Trader was already in contact with the Kingdom hence Tondo and Binondo is situated to each other. And also when the Spanish establish Intramuros (the seat of the govt), they placed it near Tondo.
