a happy New year
As the first part of the New Year, I went to the beautiful Kagoshima town of Sakurajima.
As usual, it was also picked up by Tokyo deep information, but w

■ Sanwa Town
According to the residential map of 1956, the area around Miwa-cho was called "Shinkawa-cho". The town is divided into 1st to 14th wards, and the areas called 'Ninpu-ryo' and 'Women's town' are also listed.
According to "Kagoshima City Journal II", "Jinpu Dormitory" was a house for war orphans. In addition, "Lady's house" seems to have been a town for war widows.
In Sanwa-cho, there seems to have been a public bath called ``Shinkawa-yu'' in the 5th ward and ``Minatomachi-yu'' in the 10th ward. There are about 2 hospitals, and a shop called "South America Pachinko" is drawn in the 12 wards. There are small shops and lumber shops scattered around,
Others appear to have been private residences. Shinkawa-yu in Sanwa-cho seems to be still active. After the end of the war, people from Amami and Okinawa did not return to their hometowns in Miwa Town.
I have heard that it is the place where people live. The air is like a tropical country, and the narrow houses of Showa are lined up and it is very tasteful. I feel that I am aging. The hangar at Kamoike Airport was used as a maintenance facility for Nankoku buses until a few years ago, but due to aging it was demolished and turned into a parking lot. There used to be a Harutaya Apollo store next to it to the south, but it seems to have closed recently. I imagine that the origin of the Apollo store lies in the Taiyo Kokutai held in Kagoshima in 1972 (Apollo, the god of the sun).
Furthermore, I remember that there was an office of an airline company (JAS) called Toa Domestic Airways near the T-junction to the south of it. After that, it turned into a fire station and a nursery school. I wrote about the ramblings above, but since my hometown is Kamoike, I read recent articles with particular interest. Are you looking for old maps at the library? I would appreciate it if you could tell me about it when you have time.
