Today is the day that everything goes horribly wrong, the day that I almost loose my best friend. The plan is to explore the West MacDonnell Ranges, seeing the gorges and chasm, go on walks, take swims and do a summit walk before heading across with our permit to Kings Canyon, ready for more walks and an over night hike. Sometimes things don’t go to plan and this is one of those days. Touring Australia, exploring and seeing all that this incredible country has to offer by 4x4 in our Nissan Patrol, camping in our swag, looking for adventures and seeking moments of solitude.

Thank you so much for sharing this very personal experience. It should be required viewing for all tourers to highlight the dangers of hyperthermia in those outback swimming holes. I had my own experience as a young fella and my dad pulled me out after I had submerged and because of his quick thinking I have children and grand children to love and cherish.

Thanks for the comment and for sharing your story, glad you had a quick thinking dad, glad I have always been so loud and Shannon’s angels could hear me from the shore.

Thanks for sharing this episode. An education for all who dare to experience this beautiful remote country. Everybody's response was perfect,. The outback can sneak up and bite you on the bum no matter how experienced you are. While there are people like you, and the ones that came to your aid, wandering around out there we should see less tragedies and more survival stories. All the best for your continued journey.

Hi, I’ve been away and just catching up on your videos, wow. Thank goodness for a happy ending. This situation is such an important message to get out there, and not one I’ve heard of before in the hundreds of travelling videos I’ve watched. Thanks so much for sharing. And good karma definitely was at work here, you stopping to help the troopy couple. And lots of good karma coming their way to. ❤️🥰
