😊 Sweden truly surprised us with its beauty, charm, and warmth. We loved every moment and can’t wait to return! Thanks for watching and for the kind words!
Really enjoyable episode! In the UK I used to work at a National Trust medieval moated Manor House & each year we would have the medieval re-enactors come & put on a displays similar to this albeit on a smaller scale. They were so authentic & enthusiastic. Some of the re-enactors did many weekends in different places throughout the summer so if you visit UK again research one of the big reenactment weekends & come & see how we do it in the UK! (ps. It’s really very similar 😉)
Thanks for another well made video! 🙋♀️ I really appreciate the high quality of your travelguides. I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay in Stockholm and Visby. Welcome back! 🤗
Thank you so much! 😊 We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed the video and appreciate the quality of our travel guides. Stockholm and Visby were truly amazing, and we’re so glad we got to experience them. We’d love to come back and explore even more! 🤗
Gotland is a paradise island. It is often referred to as Limestone Hawaii. So much to see. So much history. I visit regurlarly. Fossil hunting is what we will be doing during our next visit. I think this video really captured Visby well. Good job!
Loved the stockholm and visby videos. :) I like your vlogg style aswell. I'll be checking out some more of your videos for sure. And you were lucky to manage to visit visby during the medieval festival and that it was good weather on that day. :)
What a lovely place! Beautiful, clean and I imagine away from the festival, very peaceful. Sweden really has been stunning! I guess good news that it's entirely doable for you to go back and do a deep dive - easier for sure than the South Pacific (though I'd want to back there!) - here's to the next stop!
Sweden really did surprise us! There are so many places we’d love to go back and explore in more depth. Time is the tricky part, but we’re determined to see as much as we can while we’re still out there adventuring! 😊 Here’s to the next stop and many more!
Visby is like a giant old town of Stockholm..very beautiful, very historic...I can really understand why tourists not the least american ones, loves to go there..its a really interesting, cool, beautiful magic place...whole of Gotland is.. There is nothing in America that resembles Gotland and Visby,so I can really understand the fascination...its a great, great place..
Yes, the Medieval Week lasts around the clock. There is a medieval tavern then during Medieval Week. With singing etc. The medieval week is not a show, you must experience it. Welcome here😊
We’d absolutely love to experience the whole thing! Who knows, maybe next year we’ll join in, rent a tent, and live in the Middle Ages for a week. It sounds like such a unique and immersive experience! 😊
i remember hiring a house just beside the medivial market with some friends. and i heard there singing atleast until 4am. and i was thinking they are soon getting up again for an early day. every night up singing, and back too serving visitors. true love for the medivial week
My wife and I have loved following your journey round the world and many places you have visited has inspired us to do the same especially European ports. I am particularly interested in the binoculars that you said were a game changer as the pair I use for traveling and cruising are old now and as I have an unsteady hands was wondering if you would share some details. I look forward to your remaining vlogs and look forward to seeing where your adventures take you. Also love the reviews of all the beers !!
Glad you’ve been enjoying the journey with us, and happy to hear we’ve inspired some future travels, especially around the European ports! 😊 As for the binoculars, Zarko bought them 13 years ago while living in Hawaii during his sport fishing days, and they’ve been a game changer ever since. They still make them, and I imagine they’re even better now. If you Google “Canon 15x50 IS All-Weather Image Stabilized Binoculars,” you should find them. They’re not cheap, but like most things, you get what you pay for. Hope that helps, and cheers to more travels and beer reviews! 🍻
In Southern Calyfornia we have every year a Renaissance Fair....Similar what is in Sweden but not as good. as the real deal where you are at........You two are so lucky to experience this fair....
@@mgtow1562 The difference is that whole families with small children live here in tents. And cooks etc. just like in the Middle Ages. Maybe a little more modern recipes. So you live in the Middle Ages. You're not just watching a show. Many have been to the Medieval Week for like 20 years. And have people they only see once a year on medieval week.
We were definitely impressed and intrigued by the whole experience! We’re not Swedes, but we’d love to spend a week living in the Middle Ages like that. It’s easy to see why it’s so popular, with people coming back year after year. It’s such a unique way to immerse yourself in history, and we can imagine how special it must be to reconnect with friends you only see during Medieval Week!
Thank you so much for the support! 😊 We’ve been thinking about sharing more personal stories, but we’re not sure if mixing them with travel destinations is the right combo. We might try adding them at the end of the videos so those who are interested can watch, and others can click off if they prefer. Thanks for the feedback, and we’ll keep experimenting with what works!
One of the things that always boggles my mind os that there is in Visby a building, most likely built in the 1260s (or at least that's when the wood in the floors etc was hewn) where you can actually reant an apartment! Also, many years ago, I also happened to be in Visby during medieval week by coincidence. I don't remember the circumstances, but on one occasion, a knight in full armor galloped past me, really close. It kind of made me realize how incredibly intimidating armored knights on horses must have been back in the day.
On this island do I have my summer cottage. Been here almost every summer summer since 1980. I even did my conscript here in 1986. Approx 6 years left to retirement. My plan is to move here then.
What a perfect spot to enjoy your summers and eventually retire-it’s such a beautiful and peaceful place. Sounds like you’ve got a great plan for the future! 😊
