Lost my older brother about a month ago, this song hits right in the feels. My first real experience with grief/losing a loved one. This track makes me incredibly sad that he’s gone but also makes me appreciate the good times. Thanks guys, one of my favorite tracks y’all have made ❤
It really is a moving track. Just don't expect to ever really "move on" from your loss. I've lost everyone around me and while I did get over it a bit you will always be a little different. All a part of life, they take a little indelible something from you when they go
@@06hatter yea, suffering and loss is inescapable. Just gotta live our best life for them and try to enjoy whatever time we have left. Existence is precious man, even if it sucks a lot sometimes! All the best to you
An advid listener to rock since it began in the late 40s early 50s(84 years old)...just introduced to this band...blown away with it's rich wide deep sound!!! Thanks Brian!!
Often imitated, never duplicated. It's hard to find an artist or band that's kept their core identity for this long while still pushing their own boundaries.
Does anyone else but me literally never get tired of this song? That four-on-the-floorbeat just drives this song onward and upward. Beautiful. I saw them do this at the 9:30 Club last year in DC, on a really dark stage, and it literally sounded cleaner, tighter, heavier, and just plain better than the album version. That's just freakin' awesome for a band to be that good live.
I love how your guys sound has evolved with all the newer effects but still keep the foundations of your compositions! You guys always release a powerful roller coaster of emotions and euphoria in your music that just takes me away ever since How Strange, Innocence.
Been listening since day one! Fellow Texan and my wife and I are beyond excited for the show in September! My wife walked down the isle to yalls music and both my daughters were born with yall playing in the delivery room!! Beyond grateful to you guys!! ❤️
Releasing this song on one of my challenging days, when I was contemplating the need to make a decision to fix my messed up life, feels like an amazing synchronicity and a meaningful sign. Explosions in the Sky, whom holds immense significance for me, seems to have done it as if they knew. 🖤
When I saw the name of the tour, I was so worried it was signifying something greater than a new album! I missed them the last two times they came to my hometown in 08 and 17, so now I have to drive about 3 hours to catch them this time. I promised myself I would do whatever it took to see them live if they were ever close by again and I finally get to make it happen
This makes me lost in memories of a very backwards time in a very backwards place where I spent a boyhood with my brother. Time has moved on as time does and stuff happens. Nowadays I have a grown son who reminds me of my brother so much sometimes I accidentally call him by my brother's name. He loves to say "forward is the only way we know." He's more right than he realizes. "Moving on" is how we heal.
We all were pretty scared when we saw the name of the tour and then the album... Thank god you guys are still alive and kicking. And, as per this new song, kicking hard. Gotta love you 😍💥✨ Looking forward to seeing you again in Madrid (in the last show of the tour, coincidentally). EITS FOREVER ♥
YES! First time I saw your beautiful faces was at Bottom of the Hill in SF. Must've been 20 years ago now. Such unbelievably big sound for that tiny stage. Transcendent. I was in love with that moment! Lucky enough to see you 5 more times since then. Can't wait to see you again and feel that magic.
o wow, EITS are back. One of my first Post Rock Bands. Before I fall in Love, with. Sound and Video so fine, and so good. Thanks for such a good Piece of ART.
Incredible. Everytime i listen to your music, i feel alive - just for a second. Hope all of you guys - and all of the fans - are doing great. Hope to see all of you guys sometime, somewhere :)
mind-blowing...i found myself listening to this song doing other things and i was absolute in a trip for a while... i had to stop what i was doing to check it out...then i found it was a new EITS song. So nothing strange, a normal reaction for their music. brilliant
I really love this band! great songs, always on the same line with my imagination (as a guitarist) I usually play along with your songs and improvise. The best part in this song for me starts from 3:50. I can imagine already a distorted solo like in the "The Moon Is Down" song starting around 7:28 with the ebow. Great work guys! Take care, take care, take care
You`re amazing! I`d like to see the beautiful colorful lights from the souls of people in EITS shows! Listen to your songs elevates our spirits without words, but full of fellings!
i heard a reviewer the other day say these guys are getting old and sound the same, and i thought: it’s partially true - but sometimes it’s more about refining the beautiful work that you are already doing, and less about trying to do something new and innovative just to get some attention. When i heard this album my first thought was: aaaaahhhhh, what a relief that in this crazy world there are still some things you can rely on, like EITS blowing you away with their epic sounds
All of their albums really are their best work. But I can tell they gathered up all the previous styles and energy into this album only through 2 songs.
