💥💥💥Hi everyone, thank you for checking out my videos! Just wanted to say that my band Laniakea has released an EP titled, "You Bring Colours". It was a monstrous undertaking that took the course of a few years to complete and I would be eternally grateful for anyone who wishes to have a listen to what we have created! Our music can be found here: linktr.ee/laniakeatheband For fans of: Plini, Chon, Explosions in the Sky, Covet, Toe, Hammock, Post-Rock, Math-Rock and Prog in general.
I still listen to your version most days and it is not ever getting old. Hope I can find you at the end of the world because I think many people will need this song
Hey Stokis, I actually never used a real amp in this recording. I used Amplitube 3 which is an amp simulation plugin you can get for your computer. The specific amp model in this video was the 65' Twin Reverb matched with a few different cabs. I'm no audio engineer professional by any means, but I think it's important to have a few slightly different sounding guitar tones to make the overall mix sound fuller. During the final mixing stage, use a high pass filter to cut off any unwanted low frequencies in the guitar tracks because that's where the bass guitar and bass drum sit in the mix. Also, don't forget about panning, which is super important in creating a full stereo image. Unfortunately, there's no single answer to your question because your amp settings will depend on a lot of other factors like your guitar, pickup selection, how you physically play the instrument, etc. I hope this helps.
Thanks, Matthew. For this video, I didn't use any amps or pedals. I ran my guitar directly into a Scarlett 2i2 interface and used a Fender Deluxe Reverb amp simulation from Amplitube 3.
+Stokis Oh, but it can. Might not be perfect, but it's damn close. "Mastertoni" on youtube does a near perfect solo guitar version. Here are the tabs if you're interested in learning it. github.com/alexpana/guitar-tabs/blob/master/Your%20Hand%20in%20Mine%20by%20Explosions%20in%20the%20Sky.txt
+Stokis Good grief. Wish I could pick up tabs that quick. Been playing on and off for the past 5 years, no where near learning all of this. Can hardly play bar-chords. Yeah, maybe you should. Wouldn't be a bad idea.
+Arturo Abad Unfortunately, I don't have my own tabs for this, but there's a pretty good Guitar Pro file on Ultimate Guitar that I used as a reference point. I'd say it's about 95% accurate in terms of notes, but it doesn't cover really subtle details like slides and stuff. I used my ears for that.
