Im trying to find information on how to Save Edit a truck for use in the online version of American Truck Simulator (ATS) also known as TruckersMP) I need to see how to add a .DDS texture skin to a truck and save that into one of the existing truck files.
Hi , i am a complete beginner to editing mods using blender and every time i try to convert and pack my mod to the game folder . I hit "PACK MOD" and it just displays as "Cant run conversion tools or there were errors by converting" . What could be the possible fix for this ?
This is very common with new users. Some things to check: Your file path should point back to your base where you imported your model from. Converter tools can’t convert tobj files that have “nocompress” in them. Last, conversion tools don’t like tobj files with no dds files attached to them. These errors are very common when modding previously modded trucks and trailers.
SCS has changed so much since I made this video that this method does not work anymore. The biggest thing has been with the automat files. They changed how the files were formatted which converterpix does not recognize. There is a work around with converterpix wrapper but its pretty complicated for new modelers. Not so much getting the models in blendre, but creating a viable export. This will be your greatest challenge. @@boselenny_yt8114
one question how can i fix converting error like i just put some pipes on a t8oo day cab and i made sure i line up every thing and make sure the materials are good but when i click pack mod it would does it thing but then it would say cant run converter or errors in it
I have a video on making a Mack truck template. The base and def file is in the same folder as the truck DLC. It is extracted the same way. Be patient. The base file is huge and takes a while to open.
No, building a truck from scratch including the modeling would take more time than I have. If you desire to build one from scratch, you need to learn how to model parts first. There are plenty of youtube tutorials that will teach you how to model parts. Then all you would need to do is create a truck object and place all your parts in the object.
@@markbrower3489 I just had a crazy thought... what if we can use Blender to import the individual 3D model parts from the Truck Mechanic Simulator game, therefore construct and build those trucks to drive in ATS?! Thanks for the idea I'm going to try it!
