Yes, that’s the reality of WFG that he became “the top” of. Everyone who started were incredibly poor (because they had to dedicate all their time and money to making WFG work rather than working a job that can pay bills) and they use that story in their speeches to inspire new people to tolerate their own poverty because one day they could be like Ed. What they leave out is they do a lot of under the table deals and loopholes that the new person will not be able to do or benefit from. They will say they just worked harder and personally developed better than everyone else but it’s not the truth. Ed Mylett was VERY good at that - Atleast from what I’ve heard from people who were close to him and what I saw from speeches online. He trained his agents to do the same. When you said it’s the fraudster behavior that helped him make the money *100% correct!* They will never tell you, btw, how they make the money or what deal made them that money… they don’t actually know. They do so much underhanded stuff that they cannot keep track to give a realistic explanation. They throw the money number around so their down line keeps following them.

I used to work for someone who worked with Ed Mylett. They had a large falling out (they were in WFG together and this person quit). There are actually a lot of people who have “beef” with him. They will never expose each other because they have dirt themselves.

I agree! Just like anyone. No one is perfect. Take away the good they do, learn what to do. And take the bad they do and learn what not to do. When you view this for everyone you meet or learn about, it becomes easy. But that wouldn't make content, but it's good to practice for yourself.

13:38 I find it hard to believe Ed couldn't remember the story where he was so broke that he was about to ask his brother-in-law for job and instead convinced him to quit his $200k/yr job and join him in an MLM. And the other loop hole is the brother-in-law must of known how broke he was and to think he would of trusted him ?

I’d never heard of Ed until the launch party of Jamie Kern Lima’s (founder of IT Cosmetics) book. He was one of the guests along with Tiny Ribbons, Dean G, and Mel Robbins (I’d also not heard of Dean or Mel). Anyway, I really enjoyed their speeches (aside from Tiny’s- I tuned out on his bc I can’t stand him) and started following them a bit. They are all so dangerous bc they know how to draw people into their sticky webs. I’m so glad I found your channel along with Keya’s and Savy’s channels. When someone is constantly saying “true story”, “no joke”, “this is real”, “believe it or not”, “I swear to you”, “babe, is that 100% true?” when telling stories I tend to tune out because I’m not going to believe a word they say after that. Either the story is made up or they are embellishing it so much that they know it isn’t the whole truth. I have a feeling a majority of the stories he tells are completely rehearsed and manufactured to be based in a small grain of truth but he’s leaving out or adding in a lot in order to fit the narrative he’s trying to spin. Also, if someone has $4,000 cash to drop on a car they are not “broke” or “dirt poor”, I get really tired of hearing these self-helpers thinking they are being relatable when they aren’t at all. 🙄

Hearing the stories about those cars my first thought is what is the registration process in the USA. I'm in Australia and once a car is 5 years old it has to pass an annual inspection for you to register it (pink slip), neither of those cars would pass for obvious reasons.

This is a great point! I did a bit of research and it’s different for every state but California started requiring yearly vehicle inspections in 1984 and New York seems to be the earliest adopting state starting in 1982, with many other states following suit by the early 90’s. So depending on when this story took place would determine whether or not it’s bogus.

I don't like to be pessimistic or judgmental. First time I saw Ed mylett I thought what a genuine caring guy. I've been watching him for a while & something seems really really off. A lot of his conversations are repetitive. It's as if he has a script and says the same thing to every guest. There's a huge red flag. So here goes.......... I hope I'm wrong. TY
@leemori90
@leemori90 8 месяцев назад
But a lot of his conversations revolve around the same topics which are the main topics people go see him for. In his speeches, he can be repetitive but it’s like a band who plays the same concert in different cities. If what he is saying he feels engages or helps people the most, then he’s obviously going to repeat each time with different crowds. Then watch his “Change With Ed Mylett” series with individual guests. His talks are a little different there because he’s dealing with different issues and questions each show and his advice and ideas from show to show are completely unique to that specific guest where it’s obvious he puts in the time and effort thinking up some of his advice. I agree that his style of speaking can sound like he’s reading from a script, but that’s just how he is. He speaks in a clear, assertive, loud, almost too perfect manner, but he does this to give guests the impression that he’s a strong leader, comforting, confident, assuring, etc. to help guests trust & commit to his advice without having reservations
@leemori90
@leemori90 8 месяцев назад
It’s funny because reading that, I was the complete opposite. At first I’m like what a big, fake, phony, self-absorbed, behind closed doors asshole / abuser, fuck people’s feelings, money over everything guy. But as i dove deeper and began watching more than just his speeches, like podcasts & his show “Change”, I noticed that most times the conversations and topics were different so he couldn’t script his words & his answers clearly were on the spot. He has some very good lessons, advice, ways of viewing things and that gradually changed my opinion, along with his high emotional intelligence that becomes clear can’t be faked or acted out
@leemori90
@leemori90 8 месяцев назад
The guy is clearly very intelligent whether you like him or not, therefore I’m sure he’s heard and read skeptics criticizing his conversations and delivery and demeanour. If he truly was a compete different person off camera / fake / phony, I’m sure he would have changed his style up at some point to divert critics & negative opinions in order to maintain his status & money-earning outlets. But he’s always been the same guy which is a good indication that’s just how he talks and that he really is true to his words, but no matter what there will be people who take him the wrong way or can’t accept him

Other red flags: - He calls everybody "brother", like a televangelist. - He calls his wife "babe" - He tells the story of how he was going to ask his brother in law for a job but instead he ends up making join his business and says "I never told this story before because I forgot". Because you forgot or because you made it up the day before? You are a speaker whose subject matter is your own life, you told the scripted "inspirational" story of your life a thousand times but somehow you had actually erased from your mind the memory that you had decided to give up and ask your BIL for a job?
@leemori90
@leemori90 8 месяцев назад
6:45 I don’t necessarily agree that he was mimicking his dying dad to gain sympathy from the audience. To me it seems more like the purpose of mimicking was to 1) add detail and context to draw the audience in more 2) engage the audience on a personal level, them imagining talking to / hearing their dying parent in a similar situation and to comprehend that death of parents and own self is a very real & inevitable part of life. He uses that story & way of telling it to setup his next part, with the audience reflecting on how precious life is, to live it to the fullest and to do something purposeful / meaningful with it, etc Sorry my wording is not very good at all here in what I’m trying to say, but bottom line i don’t see him using his dads death to gain sympathy or said in a senseless way, but rather as a way of building up to his main point, but done in a respectful, empathetic, relatable way I think his loud, assertive, straightforward, honest way of speaking combined with his expressive / enthusiastic & sometimes exaggerated emphasis on things can be taken the wrong way, and seen more as arrogant, fake, egotistic. Sometimes he throws in too much detail or talks about himself with such importance, but I think he does this with the intention of having his guests fully understand / relate to his ideas & advice on a deeper level in order for them to grasp what he’s trying to say. I’ve watched a lot of his content including his “Change With Ed Mylett” series, and I’ve concluded that he really is a good dude and truly does want to help people, and if you watch him without any bias or judgment, you start realizing that he actually does have some fresh, inventive, sincere advice & strategies that someone fake or doesn’t care wouldn’t be able to think up. He seems like hes always coming from the heart with the best intentions. He’s a good role model for fatherless people or young men needing guidance
