it’s a special card that an “influencer” agency provides and it only works when you book at specific location on the app and swipe when you’re done posting to get “points”. It’s not a bank card.
It’s about the advertising! Do you realize how many people are reached by a single post ?? Millions ! Granted not all comment but they’re viewed. It’s a brilliant move on their behalf.
We kinda knew already. It's called marketing. That's why it's also hard for us to believe when influencers advertise products and services- they're paid.
Influencers are doing things that women's magazines used to do in the 2000s and prior - marketing and promotions. Remember the fashion section and the beauty section of a women's magazine? Items featured on there were not just randomly recommended by the fashion / beauty editors because they're great products (sometimes they were legitimately great products to be fair), they made it to print because they got sent to the magazine office and ended up on the fashion / beauty editor's desk. Same concept when they dress celebrities for the red carpet or Kate Middleton, it's promotion. Because when Kate Middleton wears something, the next day some newspaper has itemised everything from her look, down to the handbag and earrings. Instagram is the new catalogue / magazine and influencers are the new promo models.
Yeah, no. So many influencer or wannabees are getting busted left and right for being choosing beggars. Influencers who don't pay for food or stay anywhere are hated af.
I was wondering when someone would say this. While it’s true influencers get free things, not all influencers do. It’s not as simple as “become an influencer to get free stuff”. Some businesses know likes don’t pay the bills and don’t want to give random people free things just because they’re “influencers”.
If that's a working card I'll assume theres an extra 3 number long code at the back as many do. It's a safety code, I think. All you see here is expiration date and number, but those are useless without the safety code.
@@soujanyachatterjee09 there's hella programs where bots can run the numbers over and over in a matter of seconds until they get the correct set of digits. Her card info is in fact, not safe.

@@UMMrealLoud it’s not a bank card. Some weird influencer card that you apply for to book at specific venues and swipe to close a “transaction” to gain “points”
I do really question the math on how much they comp to an influencer vs how much the influencer provides in sales. Half of their followers are in totally different geographic areas
Probably because the restaurant didn’t offer the food for free initially and expected them to pay. Usually influencers that are given things for free were approached by the company first about it. They didn’t just go in, use the product, and demand it be free because they’re an influencer.
Tbh only the expensive, trendy restaurants in big cities with a lot of young, rich people care about influencers. If you go to the family owned Mexican restaurant in a small Ohio town, they're not gonna care if you're an influencer! You'll still have to pay
best for us is to stop watching them read a book put some time in hobbies and career and feel much better then seeing somebody else's life and maybe being depressed about being miserable
Yup. Influencers are sales people. Think of them as used car salesmen- either take it for what it is or stop unfollowing the influencer, just don’t get all mad about it
They’re called influencers because they have influence. They show products and places in videos and ppl wanna buy those products and go to those places.
best is to stop watching them read a book put some time in hobby you will feel much better then seeing somebody else's life and maybe being depressed about being miserable.
‘if you can’t beat them join them’ is so real if I lived in america and was a conventionally attractive white woman id absolutely take every opportunity to become an influencer
I like you. You are so pretty. I saw another short where you were teaching people about Pho. I love that you expose yourself to different foods, people, cultural habits, etc and then you explain to people. I’m a new fan ❤
Yes. But if someone messages a company and demands free shit for exposure especially small businesses, that's fucked up. These influencers need to let them come to them. Exposure doesn't pay the bills. if someone goes to a restaurant and demands the food be comped for a "post online" I think the manager should get one free punch lol
I feel that being an influencer should be like a hobby. Most influencers are very young at age and don’t understand that they need a Plan B. Athe end of the day if everybody stopped watching ,if influencing wasn’t an actual practical thing anymore , how are these influencers going to pay for their mansions the many cars or their lavish lifestyle? don’t get me wrong I mean I would love to be like this. And have everything handed to me just by looking pretty but in reality, I need an actual Plan B, because society is always changing , fashion always changing.
Ya its better then actual commercials cuz we want to watch the stuff... kinda interesting how " commercials" morphed into something even better that we like to see
As a Turkish/German person I think you’d love Turkish cuisine. Menemen, shawarma, döner and börek are probably the most popular Turkish dishes worldwide and they’re all 10/10. (And obviously baklava but most people have had that before!)
Stop shaming white skinny pretty girls! Maybe instead of victimización you can choose to be happy!? Plus there are plenty of black, Latina and Asian influences too🤷🏻♀️ not everything is about race .
@@FaithHannah2468 I'm actually super happy. I'm just stating some facts. A lot of things in life really are about race unfortunately, racism is still alive even in 2023. Of course there are all types of creators in the world. I was talking about the OG creators video. I just knew someone would hate my comment, but I needed to write it.
fantastic and at some point young people will no longer be able to do any value-adding work at all because their value compass has completely given up.
While there are influences that go for free because the company invited them, there are some influences that tell you they are not sponsored and they paid for it. You are correct that you should not believe everything you see. Much success to all.
Ngl though one of my fears is that this entire generation is just gonna be influencers. Not many people are interested in being engineers or medical professionals. So many people wanna be influencers.
I used to work at an expensive sushi place in austin and I served 15 rolls and 4 apps to a table of two influencers once and they took photos for an hour, ate 3 bites and everything else got boxed up 💀
My sensory issues says no. If my comfort food isn't on the menu I'm not going. I could be a billionaire and would still choose my local gyros shop rather than going somewhere like this. Maybe the food is good but I can't be the only one who thinks it looks bad
Not my thing, and it's actually a turn-off to a product if I see it hawked by an influencer. Most people know they're getting either paid or complimentary items, so their glowing reviews are basically untrustworthy. And there's been too many exposes and personal experiences shared of influencers acting bratty or trying to get free items from businesses as if they're doing them a favor. If your product and business model is good, it will find its own way to profit. Enjoy while you can though. The first jobs AI will make irrelevant are those that rely purely on optics and buzzwords.
Reminds me of the 'You're not Yelping' episode of South Park. I get partnering with a brand and they let you TRY the stuff. But influencers shouldn't DEMAND free sh^t. If you have enough followers for it to matter you can afford to buy it.
I've had some Instagram business accounts reaching out to me to be a model for jewellery and make up and I'll be sent free gifts for free every once in a while, so yeah I already know about most of these things, matter of fact though is that I don't model and I've never even modelled in my life let along wanting to, so I end up refusing 😂.
wow you must be pretty anyways maybe modelling is not for you but selling a lifestyle to vicarious people is a bright idea you can get lot of stuff for free it's just that for some reason lifestyle influencers start seeing their followers as numbers and exploit their fascination by selling services or products which are not good.........and something really appalling is that they call their followers "family".
@@madhavmathur4008 thank you ^^, and yeah I totally agree, you do whatever you do just to get the likes and follows, it's ridiculous that you forget what the real purpose of modelling was, you are the face or the body that's unique enough to force people to look at you and pay attention to what you're wearing and you'll get paid anyway as long as you're honest.
