aw yeah i love having extremely bad opinions and sharing them with strangers on the internet :( but like, to keep my savage demon street cred, i will pretend to be ambivalent towards ur personal health. thank u very much
As a WAR main (the goofball type) I assure you that anybody who is toxic/trying to show off as WAR is actually compensating for the fact that we only get 2 braincells each, one of which is devoted entirely to "haha fell cleave go brrr"
Admittedly, I'm more used to dealing with toxic PLDs than WARs. Granted, the couple or so toxic Ungabungas I've met have definitely been nasty pieces of work, but I'm more inclined to expect the Pallies giving me a hard time.
"And thus began your story of trying to impress all the adults in your life and live up to the impossibly high standards you set for yourself" Look, I came here to have my job exposed, not my childhood and stunted adult behavior
As a DNC main I am upset at how accurate that was. Also Paladins aren't moral crusaders in this game, they're just the personal guards of the Sultana, so it's the perfect job for simps. ......wait, I just realized that Lucy being a Dancer main implies the she *is or has been an ERPer.*
As a mch main, my secret is that my three brain cells just go "drill go brr" to each other. The faster the brain cells transmit that message, the higher the damage go.
@@treesuschrist1782 Smooth Brains: Nooo, you can't just reassemble, and drill all the time! That's not an optimal dps rotation! We Intellectuals: Haha drill go brrrrr
As a mch main, here's my secret: I'm actually not that good at juggling job mechanics, positionals, and complex rotations on anything except a training dummy, and the RNG aspects of Red Mage, Dancer, and Bard would add a wrinkle on my otherwise flawlessly smooth brain. I pretend I'm doing something by having burst windows that require me to press buttons every half a second and every once in a while I'll use Tactician and pat myself on the back for being a genius for mitigating that raidwide that everyone was going to survive anyways.
Speaking of lily enthusiasts, my approach for Asphodelos 1 Savage is to dump three lilies during the three AoEs Erichthonios throws out as the run-up to his hard enrage, and then smash the blood lily and Assize to help finish him off.
I've played through every single expansion as a monk. You can keep you swords, machines, and spells. I'm not stopping til everyone's felt the loving embrace of my fist on their face.
"Caffeine will not make you happy." Look, if I consume enough caffeine I'll simulate happiness with manic, jet-fueled anxiety. Never felt more called out as a GNB though.
Crafters and Gatherers are easily the most sick players in the whole game. They control the market board and I have never felt so burned by a group of humans. Fear them, for they demand respect from everybody.
I regularly... REGULARLY buy the entire inventory of an MB item if I feel the price it too low. And I'll hold onto the inventory slowly selling it. Most of the time I don't make a profit ... But it's ok because I'm making a ton of Gil selling the Thanvarian Onions I grow.
@@avaviel I've watched people come into a market that was perfectly okay and crash it by 80% because they can. When they control the power of gil - they control all of us as well. I mostly sell dyes myself so its less chaotic...Metal markets are true pain.
@@Kloqdq I'm that omnicrafter that makes everything everyone else are too lazy to make... aka levecrafts! New expansions is always an easy 10mil per day.
I propose an alternative: At least 5 of us gunbreaker mains overlap with the 5 of us that are still heavily invested in the Devil May Cry franchise. Which, I get it, is still basically the same as "when bullet go in blade it make brain turn happy" but I want to at least pretend a deeper thought went into my decision to make that my main tank.
You merely adopted the monk class. I was born in it, moulded by it. I did not equip my monk stone until I finished ARR. Fun fact: I went through ARR without realizing that I could equip my stone to become a monk. I skipped through cutscenes and ran through dungeons using my Pug skills.. I was new to the game. Not. One. Soul. Told. Me.
SO, when ARR was current content, it was back when you had to have TWO classes to get a job. You needed your pugilist to 30, and a lancer to 15. OF course, somewhere in my mind I figured 'well, I should MAX OUT my pugilist before I worry about taking up another class.' While leveling, I did get a few eyerolls and 'ugh, pugilist?' comments, but no one had actually explained what I was doing wrong until Castrum. So Praetorium was my only base ARR content done as a Monk.
@@pinkpugilist that sounds amazing, why did they abandon multiple classes melding into jobs? That sounds amazing like it makes it feel more worth the effort leveling everything if they affect eachother to me.
@@RaidenKaiser Some things work better in theory than practice. It wasn't a well explained system, leading to people like me not catching on and playing a large majority of content without a class. And for people who were aware and working through story, it creates a sudden halt as you go to level up another class. And it's not as though the other class really ADDED anything, monk was still mostly a pugilist+
You think you’re in charge here ‘tank’? I’ll play limbo with your HP bar, I’ll pull every group before you and stun them with holy until they are dead, I’ll rescue you to me when you’re not fast enough and if you throw a hissy fit, I’ll just tank myself. And your blood is nothing more than nourishment for the blood lily. Yes I am at least 2 years too late, but YT just recommended this to me.
When she said this my friend and I who both work at the same company just fuckin died as we’re both samurai mains… she’s uncovered the secret sauce to a samurai’s genetic code.
Me, a PLD Main: - A simp for my wife (in game and out) - Everything at max level including crafting, gathering, and blue mage - Formerly a RU-vid content creator for Fire Emblem including detailed guides Ok listen, I didn't expect an absolute Mustadio sniper shot at me.
DRK stereotype: "Nothing matters so I'm gonna hit everything with a sword" My depressed/anxious/ADHD ass as a DRK: "EVERYTHING MATTERS TOO MUCH AND I AM IN PAIN, MEET MY BEST/ONLY FRIEND, GIANT HEAP OF RAW IRON (rest in peace Miura...)"
I don't know if I should be depressed, excited, or worried that I was literally running a dungeon on the Gunbreaker and drinking a red bull while I watched this.
Red Mage is easy, and we are very aware and know we picked easy mode. We're just here to get that dopamine activation from verraising the healer and want to have a good time. Also we are fly as verfuck, I've never met a Red Mage main that hasn't had the desire to look stylish at all times.
RDM is easy, which makes it all the more painful when you see someone hardcasting Veraero or Verthunder as part of their regular rotation. Which happens a disturbing amount of the time.
I discovered you had to be at level to equip equipment even after converting that equipment to a glam. By buying an entire outfit off the market board with a level difference of almost 30 (currently lvl 53 but bought lvl 80 stuff). So yes, red mage main wants to look good. Too much so.
Just came from the Exposing your FFXIV Characters video, and as someone that mains a fem Au Ra DNC, I was entirely unprepared to have the daddy issues card drawn on me twice in less than an hour.
hi, ps4 astro main here, i'm the guy that misses the old expansion when all of the cards did something different. when tp exsisted. recharge tp? crit up? mp recover? def/resist up? attack faster? 10+% more damage? back then i had to play every class to learn what each one needed the most. crit up goes to bard, def/res go to tanks, mp goes to me/blk, speed goes to sam, tp goes to who ever the hell actually ran out of tp, and dam went to who ever needed it as i saved for when someone reached the peak of their dps rotation, i had to pay attention to all of that. forever unappreciated but i felt like a god. yet for some reason when i grinded the other healers they felt behind, thats when i get all the coms and tanks going 'jfc your carring the team' and i'm just gob smacked about it all. either way now i just play tanks/healers to fill who ever needs my aid the most. also pleasure to meet you if you actually some how read this paragraph under the list of spam, your sense of humor is top noch and you earned a sub from me. sorry for the english i'm just to tired to care atm, sorry
Stormblood AST was the GOAT. It's what made me an AST main and I loved raiding and progging on AST and anyone who knew just how much more utility AST had than WHM adored them. Then the dark days of Shadowbringers came and made me loath the class a bit and absolutely hate the balancing team. Swapped to GNB and DRG now but from time to time my heart goes out to my original main and I'll play some AST and reminisce on what once was when AST was the frantic utility god.
Sages are Scholars who escaped Eos's/Selene's abusive embrace. We escaped those whispered lies that we could never manage without her and that we would relapse immediately once the Energy Drain withdrawal kicks in. But that forsaken fairy was wrong. Now we are free.
I've always said that Airy and Anne made me suspicious about fairies (I mean, even moreso than before), and the SCH one is just mad sus. Hell, I'm surprised Feo Ul didn't call them out if you did ShB as a SCH.
Is it wrong I miss ARR days of casting eos and selene signature spell every ogcd before casting heals or dps yourself? I loved having my farie heal 100% of trials while I dpsed, maybe I was a SGE mage 8 years to early.
As a DRG main, my choice was less due to edgyness and more due to being one of those PS1 era kids who don't shut the fuck up about old FF games, and half of my favorite characters like Freya from IX, Kain from IV and Cid from VII being dragoons or dragoon-lites. It's also one of the coolest jobs in FF Tactics so there's that. I literally picked the class before I had any idea whatsoever how it worked or looked in FF14
When a girl walks in she's gonna drop it like a DRK trying to survive a simple pull with the first time SGE. I've seen many reapers tanking the floor lately, which makes me think the loldrg isn't part of the job, it's apart of the armor
I made a post adds phase prog pf for the 83 extreme trial to help a friend learn the other day and we had a reaper who was fresh that I didn’t have the heart to kick, they struggled a lot at first but persevered and improved, unlike the paladin who asked to have them kicked who was fucking up even more.
For sure. It's the confidence it gives them to be careless. The thing is Reapers are crazy tanky for a DPS class, between their heavy armour, Arcane Crest, Arm's Length and excellent reach and rapid AoE attacks to really monopolize on Bloodbath healing. They've got even more reason to be confident they'll survive than even Dragoons (whom TBH have no real defensive utility of their own, relying purely on role skills, and limited reach AoE attacks). Honestly they'd basically be better Dragoons if it wasn't for Dragoon's party DPS buffs, I don't know the exact numbers but my experience makes them seem like they do more DPS too. Except the thing is despite that resilience, they're still just a DPS class, and they still don't have the tank damage reduction traits or skills. So if they eat a tankbuster, they'll likely still die. Mobs will also still overwhelm them once Bloodbath expires. So yes, they'll end up floor tanking a fair bit if they aren't careful.
Yeah the armor is cursed, you see by wearing what is essentially medium armor that allows one to be an off tank it causes one to be more... adventurous with aoes.
I had a run of a lvl90 dungeon, the sage and reaper where so bad but I took my time to explain and even told the healer to just focus healing because as a red mage I'd handle the rezes, I must of rezed the reaper 15 times and the sage about 7 times, we got though it in the end though, most times I've ever wiped in a dungeon. The reaper died on every mechanic at least once
"Dragoons were the Original Edge lords" Well fuck, I can't disagree in the slightest, our armor is a bit spikey.. Oh to hell with it, it isn't spikey ENOUGH-
As a Summoner Main, it is terrifying how correct you are. Only counter point i have is, we don't flex on purpose. When we do, it's without thinking and the words tumble out. After our bought of verbal diarrhea, we then pretend we didn't just open up wide and shove our whole leg down our throat. Don't judge us! *sits down in a field and touches the green blades of "grass"* :3
As a black mage main, I think you underestimate just how much we like massive unga bunga ranged nukes. I swear, if we could have one single long cast that would do all our dps at once, I'd play it even more than I already do.
Bard Mains Before endwalker: hey guys we know we aren't the highest dps but we are just glad to be here and help everyone else with whatever we can contribute. So, since we know what jobs Lucy plays and played, we can try and decipher what she is trying to tell us about herself in this video. If you listen closely, you can almost hear her cry for help.
As a GNB main I feel extremely called out except for red bull, I just use soda because if I switched to energy drinks my body would have more localized explosions and overheating in it than my impractical choice of weapon. P.S. FF8 stans and smooth brain gunblade enjoyers are the same people. I can prove this because I am one.
the best part of this entire video, is that I, as a machinist main, was running The First Circle raid earlier today, while listening to Chopin's Prelude Op. 28 No 15, as well as a few others, whilst playing (mostly) with 1 hand, since most of my rotation is focused on the left side of my keyboard
Lucy, have loved every video you have put out to date. This is the one channel I have to stop playing, or doing anything else to just to listen to, your comments, barbs, double entendres, and quick witted comments come so fast that I have to concentrate just to catch them all (of course I could just be dense and dull witted). Thank you. Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday's, be safe out there Miss Lucy.
I knew this gonna be good as soon as I heared the well known Merry Chrysler and Happy Crimenth. I came here because you were in chair's video, I stayed for the humor. I simply love it. Every time you upload a new video, you make this popoto very happy.
As WHM main I still am sad about all those DPS babies I had to sacrifice to the blood lily. So....horribly....sad. Oh and also sorry for not being able to keep up with all those tanks, who thought it was a good idea to run away from me while pulling wall to wall without keeping aggro from the rest of the party. I'm sure you had your reasons.
You are absolutely right about White Mage! At certain point of gameplay I realised that I don't care how much damage my Glare or Dia does. I just spam it whenever I am not casting healing spells and the boss eventually dies (maybe from boredom, dunno). I would not be surprised at all if me spamming Glare for the whole fight turned out to be only 1% of boss health. As long as I am keeping party members above 1 hp - I am a happy player. Would love an ability to take away hp from my party members (would make a fine addition to my Rescue)
DRK feels like it's low key getting scholar syndrome, where it has a bit of weirdness in gameplay and everyone thinks it getting nothing and crying for it to get buffed, but it's low key topping the meta.
@@EnryanTheHero @Ed1749 I got into FFXIV four days ago and have now reached lvl 50. I really wanted to become a DRK when I first got the game, but I saw loads of vids and comments about them being shitty and such, but these comments have rekindled my hope. Imma commit
@@thegeko5476 heck yeah brother! Also, since this video there's also been updates to DRK that fixed up a lot of the complaints people had about the class, all while retaining it's top dog status for dps amongst tanks. Also, welcome to the game!
How to play MCH: 1. Activate Reassemble. 2. Use Drill. 3. Use quite literally everything until you can repeat step 1-2. 4. Repeat. There's nothing else to it. Just smash buttons and you somehow deal more damage to a raid boss your first time through than the top tier BiS melee DPS who just dropped an LB3.
I love MCH, it's my go-to for blind progression and frantic/fast paced content. Rotation can be done in a coma and requires 0 brain process. Which leaves brain concentration for the things that matter: mechanics, movement, and processing tells.
later on in the expansion when everyone (and their mothers) have already learned the fights/tells, they will out dps your MCH - in which point there is no reason to play the braindead 1 2 3 class. Hopefully you will also have learned the fights tells so you can switch to BLM and show them who's boss
Hahahaha Awesome Video, scathing, yet beautifully poetic, also not sure why i'm just discovering you now, i folllow what some might think is a lot of Vtubers and today was the first time you've shown up in my feed. After this video you have a new fan.
This reminded me of Daggerfall. In Daggerfall there was possibility to choose job by answering to the different questions. Think about what if you could not choose your FFXIV job, but first you needed to do psychological test just to choose your class :-)
As someone who played blackmage to level 50 and switched to redmage, yes I did do it because it was easy and flashy and fun. Also I play white mage as well simply to see what's going on with healing and my red mage teacher said to.
Got let off easy in the race call-outs, Male Miko never felt so good. Let's see how bad I get dunked on this time........annnnnnd once again my choice of Red Mage makes my life easy. Backflipping my way onto the floor of victory.
Likewise. Also, why stop at crafters and gatherers? Yes I know about your positionals melee DPS. I've levelled them ALL. I don't care. I don't trust the Healer but I don't want to be forced to cast Clemency. Not going to eat that AoE. Use True North.
@@KotCR I've maxed out two other tanks and DPSes as well, at least as far as 80 before Endwalker released. Currently working on conjurer and astrologian as I don't have a high level healer yet, aside from scholar which I am terrible at ( ._.)

It is low effort and it'll level up the jobs fast over a couple weeks, while you can focus instead on doing whatever else you want to do in-game.
"When bullet go in blade it make brain go happy" is, in fact, not the reason I started maining GNB but it sure did help. In my case it would be a slow turn and an "uhh" as I continue to be a cave man and hit things with a big axe because hitting thing with big axe make brain happy...It's probably why I'm also a hammer main in Monster Hunter, I need the Unga and I must Bunga.
>Lucy rants about healers >Ha! Who would main a healer. Idiot. > Mains a healer. At least I can flex my guns and get priority res. Good luck tanking the floor, Reaper mains!
Honestly as a bard I'm just happy that I learned to love my voice and music enough to get my own buffs! And I *am* completely unhinged thank you for noticing~
Funny enough, as a GNB main, one of my first experiences with a 90 post MSQ dungeon involved me dragging my face against a door in the first section enough until I actually ended up clipping through it to the other side. Game is funny.

As a DRK main that was irked by the lack of self healing in EW but otherwise still thoroughly enjoys the Job because of the frantic amount of weaving it often requires, I'm beginning to suspect I may be a unicorn or something. I also play GNB, though, and I cannot deny that my brain likes pushing buttons, seeing explosions, and pulling wall to wall.
“Doing the nay nay on top of a police car while setting fire to the local Dunkin Donuts” … As a Dunkin employee all I can say is thank you for the spit take and laughs. I needed that. XD
Im genuinely impressed with how accurately your descriptions of my mains were. ESPECIALLY with dancer having the most brain dead rotation and still fucking it up somehow.
As a mch main, the best thing about the class is that you use a gun to solve all your problems. If there is local bandits attacking or even a god level primal the novelty of using a gun against it never gets old.
