Thanks for an actual member speaking out. I'm not a member. But I have members in my family, and they are very much so involved in their church and they put God and family first, and they are active members. But it does not seem as if they are worshipping some other god at all.

And it was built to continue to create community for us and also to pour into black communities. These videos are such a disgrace and the people who create them should be ashamed of themselves for it. There is no dispute that these sorority and fraternal organizations do good works. It is the spiritual dishonesty of these organizations via their demands, requirements, and rituals that is the problem. They portray themselves as wholesome and aligned with Christian principles, when in fact it is a false front.

I do not believe she has been rejected. My sister did the same to me back in 1997 when I became a member. I have even received a Bible as a gift with scriptures highlighted after I joined OES in 2000.

That’s an issue with the processing community you are in and not being with the body who actually moving in transparency in accordance to the word.

Quoting the Bible in any way to fit the mode for your sorority is a sin. Read Deut. 4:2 if you need a reminder. Taking scriptures and replacing God with Zeta is wrong. Any worshiping of graven images… praying to your dead ancestors… bowing to anything not God = sin. This is all in the Bible but ppl choose to ignore it. Pray on it.

You don’t, because even though these people have reformed their lives, membership in one of these things would not be granted to them. I think it’s in the actual laws or something that a record cannot be held by a member. And that’s cool and all… until you look at the fact that Jesus set prisoners free, and more than accepted them. You make very valid points. From my understanding some if these people have never been in any of these organizations. For those people I feel they need a reason to validate their inadequacies. For people who denounce I feel their views are skewed by negative experiences.

It’s strange, delusional, and has a spirit of pride attached to it. And your statement is not only skewed at that point. A person’s opinion on something like this doesn’t have to be influenced by something negative. Some folks be so sick in they minds that they think that a person can’t just be convicted to follow Jesus.
