A video showing a charcoal portrait from start to finish in real time. Charcoal drawing on Strathmore bristol board using an edgeprogear charcoal sachet and generals pencil charcoal intro by / channel
Fascinating to watch you do this in real time. Would love to see you paint in oils in real time, too. Thanks for your videos, they inspire me. Your talent is huge. Greetings from Holland.
I like the reflection of light on her cheek & the eye lid. And the cast shadow below the lower lip is dark enough right from the beginning as the contrast ! George Wu, ARCHITECT, A.I.A., NCARB 2018-4-3
Where is it mentioned that acetone is used? This is just charcoal, I usually make the sketch with it before painting with oil. I don't think that charcoal goes well with water. I would spray the work with the fixative after I am finished. Nothing else, I think, can be used once the work is done. Thank you Thomas for your video. No need to explain what you are doing, it is very clear by watching you the great work that could be done with charcoal. Thanks again.
What is your review of The Edge pro gear sachet is it worth buying.?? seems a bit expensive. Besides.not least your work is very expressive ans emotional..!! Love it..!!
they are an old type of drawing material which I think were called ponce bags? but Edgeprogear started making them again as you couldn't buy them anywhere although you can make your own
you can get similar effects with water, but the acetone is a alcohol solution so it evaporates very quickly so it doesn't have much time to absorb into the paper
These instruction-less silent demos are made by people who can't be bothered to explain or teach. Maybe they just want to show off and be praised. I do not see their value.
Renzo i think it is the same concept of posting art online just to get your work out there. this person is just showing the process of their work, which some people like me find fascinating just to watch.
I mean sir plz don't bother us with your ignorant comme t like that. Enjoy this artwork and the process. Oh also if you are learning how yo draw young fellow, watching video us not enough. Practice practice for few months with charcoal and come back to this very video and watch again, only then you will understand. However, the artist's feelings you cannot learn be a use it is for him, belongs to him alone. Some say he is using some other person's technical method. This is completely irrelevant because it is his feelings and outlook an artist puts on the medium with every stroke he makes. Again practice for a while and get back to this video
