All Blacks look fit, focused & confident with real competition for virtually every position. Say what you want about Fozzie but there is little doubt he is managing the players very well.

That annoying habit of Tupou Vaa'i of hovering around the try zone and not touching down until someone tries to tackle him has to go. It's such a bad look

That kind of nonsense needs to stay in sevens. It doesn't belong in the 15 a side game.
@ItzCoopzFtw
@ItzCoopzFtw 2 года назад
It's no different than all teams who wind the clock down by doing a pick-and-go and setting up ruck after ruck. It's up to the defence to come up with something or force the opposition into using the ball, just like Marcos Kremer did by forcing Vaa'i to put the ball down.

Question: What was the penalty at 2:09 for? (I'm new to rugby and thankful for any explanation)
@Tordah
@Tordah 2 года назад
"Black 6 changing the line", Blackadder was running into the way of the Argentine kick chaser, who was trying to get the ball. Thus, 6 was obstructing the Argie from getting to the ball
@flyingdutchman3165

@@Tordah he didnt really run tho, did he? Is the rule that you need to be out of the way of the kick chaser?
@Tordah
@Tordah 2 года назад
@@flyingdutchman3165 The rule is you can't deliberately change your line in order to obstruct an opponent. Blackadder walked in front of the Argie, obviously with the intent to obstruct. It's a widely used tactic, and he was a bit too obvious.

I can see Lomax has had a lot of work put into his scrummaging. His back there looked about as flat as we used to see from Olo Brown.
@mikedangerdoes
@mikedangerdoes 2 года назад
Bro Ioane frustrates me so much. His ability to break the line and threaten is so good and exactly what the ABs need. But his tendency to hold the ball just that little bit too long and then turn it over is becoming a bit too familiar. I would love to see this guy become our first choice centre, but I see this holding him back and it's an easy one for critics to latch onto.
@andrewlawson573
@andrewlawson573 2 года назад
Agreed, but he is definitely improving. Has made some very good plays in defence recently. I genuinely think he felt he wasn't held, and listening to the Aussy comentary they all said he was right not to throw the pass. He just needs a bit more time and he will polish up his game even more. He the most devastating attacker in the squad already. That line break was genuinely great.
@mikedangerdoes
@mikedangerdoes 2 года назад
@@andrewlawson573 Yea I'll agree that a lot of the time his options, in retrospect, aren't always that great. And he probably wouldn't be turning it over if he wasn't getting isolated cause he's so fast and gets away from his supporters as well. But still, it's becoming a trend. You're right though, he is improving. It's just something that once he figures it out, like Akira has, he will be number 1. Akira seems to pass it when you would back him to run it in, but he's putting guys away regularly.
@andrewlawson573

@Squigy Diamond fully agree. Will be interesting to see if he beats the try scoring record. He's already on 25 or 30 I believe. People just need a little patience with him.
@mikedangerdoes
@mikedangerdoes 2 года назад
@Squigy Diamond I'm probably being impatient to be honest. But if it wasn't clear, I'm actually a huge fan of the guy. I think he has the skillset to be one of the greats, a real game-breaker. But yeah, I need to remember that it's only his second professional year at centre (going from being a finisher on the wing to a distributer in midfield), and probably less than a half dozen of his tests have been at centre so yes, there's no need to get to worried. I just can't wait to see him finally get it all together and start wrecking dudes. ABs would be unstoppable with him shredding the line and putting guys away.

Yep its fair to say its not a strength of his game atm but he is a work in progress at 13 which is a position players tend to mature into. He does have that one un-coachable asset tho and that is genuine world class pace, if he can start to link with the back 3 a little better AB attack could be next level lethal!

@mikedangerdoes
@mikedangerdoes 2 года назад
@@nzrockdj Sure it's a bit of hyperbole, but there's at least one great break he makes almost every game that doesn't turn into points because he holds on just a little too long. It doesn't matter so much when we are playing people who aren't going to punish us. But these are the sort of plays that might make the difference in a crucial game. I can't speak for the OP, but I certainly think his ability to break the line is amazing and I would love to see him develop. I just think it's an aspect of his game that he needs to work on to really get to the next level and be considered our first choice centre, and not just a guy who covers when ALB or whoever is out.
