A good result for England. I only hope, for their sake's, that their huge outside backs harden up their defence strategies out wide, as well as at 9, or they'll find scant success against top tier opposition come RWC 2019. Big centres and wings usually look superb in attack, yet at times, very exposed when forced to turn and cover back, so it seems. Lovely to see Brad Shields playing well, and enjoying his opportunity as a starting 6 , I thought. All said, this was a very exciting and thoroughly entertaining match.

Eddie needs to keep this back line intact for the Scotland game...from 15 to 9.Not so sure about the forward pack. Always was a mystery to me forward play...especially the skullduggery in the scrums.

If Italy loses next match it will mean 4th CONSECUTIVE YEAR ! without a single victory or even a draw for Italy . 5 loses in 2018 , 2017 and 2016 . It will also mean that they won 1 game from the last 30 in this competition . This by no means is progressing . Italy was having MUCH BETTER results in their beginnings . Time to at least have a relation / promotion playoff with Georgia or whoever wins the European rugby championship .

Italy have looked there strongest in this tournament so I wouldn't be gutted. Yes you were beaten well but this England side are definite world cup winning contenders.

@@stretty7997 Yea England are strong but this is not Italy's strongest tournament by a mile. We should not kid ourselves, in the early 2000s we were way more closely matched to the rest, not championship material but still always a possible danger for anyone. Nowadays the only preoccupation for teams who encounter us is to score the bonus point try as soon as possible.

@@StarryNightGazing The standard is much higher now, defences much harder to break down. Italy have made progress under Conor O'Shea. They were far weaker a few years ago, getting drubbings from almost everyone. Also the Italian teams are doing well in the domestic Pro14 league this season. Plenty of reasons to be positive.

Can someone explain to me what happens if England win the last game with a bonus point and Wales win without one? Wouldn’t that mean they have 19 points each? Then it’s Wales with a grand slam but England with more points difference?!

I think we are the best team in the competition, but tactically Wales battered us, we were obsessed with kicking to Liam Williams, who is probably the form full back in World Rugby We even kept kicking away possession with five minutes left, it made no sense

@@jordancox305 I think Ireland are. Against Wales, England got sloppy then showed a worrying inability to turn it round. Wales' last try flattered them, but just emphasised the point. Ireland should beat Wales next week, even away from home. In a combined Ireland/Wales team, I'd have maybe 5 Wales players.

England win or lose the six nations are the best side in the six nations, 4 bonus points in 5 games, and a loss in cardiff they will learn so much from as they clearly switched off in a hostile environment, I personally hope for England vs wales quarter final in Japan.

Im still all for Georgia replacing Italy . They actually play 15 men from Georgia (no guest stars from other countries) and they never give up. Its embarrassing the way the Italians give up when things break down.

Much prefer it to BBC with the old codger Moore who sounds like an elderly uncle in his opinions these days, Jerry 'Taff' Guscott, and Eddie 'part-time poet' Butler. Or Channel 4 where Lee Mckenzie has such little clue about rugby she can't ask any questions without referring to her iPad. But I do understand that Bortolami was a great addition to whatever program he was on, and Woodward knows nothing these days.
