Love the drop goal! - I joked with Hoggy on Twitter not long before that game saying he’s a shitebag if he didn’t attempt it and boom he nails it, so naturally I’m taking full credit for it.
I don't watch much Northern Hemisphere rugby, but it seems every time I watch Finn Russell play I am impressed with his playmaking. I don't know if they make a big deal of him in the North, but in the South I have never heard his name mentioned, and I wonder why, I consider him the best playmaker in the world, he's not the biggest, strongest or quickest, but he just always seems able to make something happen, which is the definition of a playmaker.
Daryl Wathen he’s quality isn’t he? As an England fan, I’m always worried about what he could do to us in the 6 Nations. For me his biggest problem is not having a scrum half with the speed of delivery to give him the space he needs against better opposition. Laidlaw is a good player when it comes to controlling a game, but the ball is often too slow and doesn’t give Russel the time to really threaten the line with either a line break or those amazing passes he can throw. A much underrated player in world terms.
@@raypurchase1239 my point is if a team wins primarily off of drop goals, that ain't rugby. You see its used in desperate measures, for instance the springboks against all blacks in "95. If a tier 2 nation can establish an outstanding drop kicker who can kick goals from over halfway, then they can very well play that game and kick for dear life.
Congratulations‼️ I’m overwhelmed by the powerful and speedy game of Scotland🔴‼️ Samoa team will perform greatly for the match against Japan on Oct.5. Anyhow, thank you so much for your impressive play and behaviour at RWC2019🌸
Takashi Okada hey dude, just wanted to say I’m really impressed with the Japanese fans’ sportsmanship and the quality of the Japanese team. I just wanted to ask, how big is rugby in Japan? Was there strong support behind the sport before you guys got the World Cup? It’s not a country I would’ve associated with rugby before this World Cup
Callum Jones : Thanks a lot for your warm-hearted and encouraging comment on us. Currently, We enjoy it very much with many overseas rugby fans across the globe! I was just a college rugby fan. Here in Japan, rugby is not so popular among people, since Japan got the historic win against South Africa at the RWC2015 England, many have been gradually known the sports of rugby, but before the RWC2019 started, a survey result showed about 44% of Japanese didn’t recognize it. The population of rugby was estimated about 120,000. in 2011. Professional baseball and soccer leagues are so popular, and high school baseball, basket ball, valley baseball, relay race..., now rugby football association has a target population of 200,000 and are doing various strategies to it. I’m sorry that I don’t know the concert measures to boost the popularity well. Especially, as for national team, it’d be a great idea to welcome the skilled HC from overseas where rugby is very popular such as New Zealand, Australia, Britain etc..... Have fun! I’m an official volunteer for RWC2019 this time, it’s my great experience to meet wonderful rugby fans by chance. Thank you for replying me, enjoy the rugby matches fully!
@@smileycancer5491 Thanks for the reply dude, it's great to see the sport growing. Hopefully it picks up more fans in the country during the world cup, Japan seems to be great at anything it has a deep interest in, so I hope it develops on in rugby! I love seeing the hosts do well, so I hope Japan makes it far in the tournament.
"More elusive" ... than the Loch Ness Monster. Laidlaw is a world class stand-off; hard to catch and a great ambassador for the game; I'm sure he will be pleased with the comparison.
Who are these commentators!? They are great. I'm guessing the South African coverage? Pay attention ITV, we want more: "It's the drop ggggooooooOOOAAAALLL!!! ... Get that man a beer."
There should be a thrown towel rule like boxing in rugby, i felt like our team just wanted out early second half☹ if the Scotts did'nt lose the ball a lot they would have more points
About time. Only took two days. Can we just make these the regular highlights instead of that 2-4 minute rubbish. I still believe Scotland are going to sneak through to the quarters.
They are no full game replays of rugby world cup games on youtube before the tournament is over(they would be taken down). However, you might be able to find some on vimeo and most likely there will be uploads of many games once the tournament finishes.
Just shows you how badly Townsend gets his squad, when Bradbury and Ritchie the two best ball carriers, 1 Bradbury got in by default and 2 Ritchie isn't even a starter for him, he usually just picks the same old failures, why is Zander Fagerson not starting? Why is Matt Fagerson not in the squad it's bloody ridiculous and Cummings as well.
that number 15 jersey has dancing shoes for sure, talented player it's a pity he is playing for this type of a team which has no heart and determination.
72 minutes into the game..Scotland have a 22 drop out...have a look and see if I am correct... the scotsman punts the ball not drop kicks... Ive looked at it alot and I cant see it as a drop kick
They gave it didn't they. Close one though; you can't be offside on or behind your try line. His right foot is definitely on the line, so it really is open to interpretation
Even allowing for the hot and humid conditions, the number of handling errors by both sides was horrendous. Below the standard of Test rugby at this international level. Other teams have adapted to the conditions far better.
Sean Maitland (who has won multiple premierships and European cups with saracens) said the conditions were the hardest and most humid and slippery he'd ever played in
@@mattimeo117 I think Ken is a troll. When England played Tonga indoors, and NZ played Canada, both teams made a huge number of handling errors. And those are two of the best Test rugby teams in the World. His claim that 'other teams have adapted to the conditions far better', is either hopelessly naive to the effect of playing indoors. Or just deliberately provocative. The fact his idiotic comment has 12 votes shows how many trolls cycle through these videos...

This is why i will never support the RWC 100% this Samoan team is NOT an accurate representation of this powerhouse rugby Nation. But because of bs politics, some of the best players in the world are relegated to spectators and this cheapens the value of the RWC. If Top tier Nations dont want or select players, they should allow them to go play for their respective countries. Now the only reason i can conclude is that theyre scared, What other reason could it be? Because if they allowed this, Samoa and Tonga Immediately become serious threats. If they allowed this Samoa and Tonga would probably be ranked in the top 5. Anybdy remember the Pacific team they formed and how they were destroying everybody? Lol that was the 1st and last time theyd ever do that again,. But my point is that Pacific team showcased the potential of tier 1 pacific players and the potential strength of pacific teams which scares the powers that be. Change my mind ✌😎
As a canadian this squad and management needs to be completely dismantled. If you cant do better than that stay home. You are an embarrasment to canada. Sorry. Business not personal.
I find quite a few hiddeaus referees in this RWCP !! this franuck does not make the difference!! equality is not one of their top priorities. Both penalty tries totally unfair, they are ruinning the sport!
I lost 65 minutes of my life watching this horrible game, otherwise I might not have commented here. Scotland looked absolutely clueless on attack. "oh, we're 10 metres away from the try line, with a 2-man overlap! Guess i'll just hit 12 on a flat line again, he's mean at catching the ball.." Hope Japan smash them, so I don't have to watch anything like that again.
That's just utter bullshit you're talking Scotland might not be a great team but atleast they try and play attractive rugby unlike a team like Ireland who are incredibly boring to watch.
Both sides were an embarrassment to World Rugby and should be ashamed of themselves for that performance. However, more embarrassing was the performance of the ref and TMO. Two penalty tries? No way. I entirely second's Mayo's last statement.
LittleJohn Every one was warned 3 weeks before tournament started about tackling without wrapping arms, the commentators understand if you listen to reply(last try) 1st penalty try because no11 entered from an off-side illegal position, he was one who stopped what undoubtedly would have been a try The rules are clear !!!!
