Let’s just take a minute to appreciate the cinematography and editing on these…maybe stretch them out to 20 minutes. They are like unchained teaser episodes! Some of the b-roll seems misplaced though. The f1 style radio updates are awesome as is the music and narrative.
Yes please! At least now, the highlights stretches close to 10 minutes, unlike the previous years. Still appreciated. Let's just enjoy the greatest show on earth. Cheers.😊
It probably helps if the project etc. is already preset so the editors just add interviews, key moments from the race and commentator's voice at the end of day and hit render. But yes it's still a big job and the whole team needs to work very quickly
Have never really followed Le Tour before, but found Unchained superb and here I am. Awesome highlights as many others have said. The races all finish in the middle of the night for us on the opposite side of the world to Europe so this is an awesome alternative.
This is exactly how - Tour de France channel should work. Great cinematic content in such a short time. Keep it going. Note : I vaguely remembered Lantern Rouge's roasted TDF channel for poor content and low views. That could be the reason for the beautiful change in TDF channel, now they proving what TDF could do with great content they have.
Lantern has his own great style. Last year, i preferred watching his highlights than TDF's. But this year, TDF has stepped up. They are different but i equally like them now.
@@lucas.5288 i'll have to rewatch (and i am fairly new to cycling tbh) but it seemed there was some sort of miscommunication or misaligned strategy going on.
JUMBO VISMA could bet their life for this stage win only for incredible lafay to destroy the hope and hardwork haha. AND that was hell of an attack lafay, they thought he was gonna gas up besides he wasnt considered a threat tooletting him go solo. GREAT UNDERDOG.
I'm too busy to watch the entire race, so thank you Sooooo much for the highlights ❤️ Great job by the camera crew, motorcycle riders and editing team!
That was the most badass solo attack that I recall ever seeing. Lafay broke so early, and from out of nowhere, that by the time the rest of the sprinters realized what had happened it was too late. Truly epic.
I could be wrong but UAE seem to use all their riders for 2/3’s of the stage and then Tadej and Yates use Jumbo Visma’s team for the final stretch. Looks like Tadej is going try and pick up as many bonus points as possible to build a lead before the big mountain stages arrive. As good a Jonas is he’s a limited rider. Can’t sprint and gets out muscled at the top of the shorter climbs. It’s gonna be a good Tour
Vingegaard should've helped Van Aert close the gap in the last 1000 meters, its the least he could do after Van Aert worked his socks off to help Vingegaard win the tour last year
If Pogi is sprinting for the finish, TJV sends Wout with him to try and take away possible bonus seconds for Pogacar. No ego involved, it's basic tactics.
@@ktakashismith Vingegaard should have pulled with Pog after the top of Jaizkibel if Jumbo weren't trying to get Wout the stage win. With the large group, Jonas loses 4, 6 or even 10 seconds, if he goes with Pog, he loses at most 4 seconds and takes time on everyone else. It is about Wout's ego although, of course, nothing bad happened yet for Jumbo besides missing out on the stages.
Wait, are you telling me that Carapaz finished Stage 1 with a FRACTURED KNEE CAP?!?!?!? Daaaang; cyclists ARE the toughest athletes! Reminds me of when Spartacus crashed Ava finished with a BROKEN BACK! 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Looks like it's been brewing since last year, they get mad when he doesn't help Jonas win but when it's Wout time to win they don't help him. They pretend that Wout makes every pull, on climbs, flats, descent, every where and also win.
That attack from Lafay looks like Alessandro Ballan's attack on the world championship race on 2008. Ballan's attack was from farther out and his speed was faster but the helicopter shot has the same vibe.
What happened to Mvdp ? Thought he was all prepared for this tdf but got dropped at the last ascent. Hope this won’t be the same repeat as the last year’s tour.
To take a lead so they can get away from the rest but it was not really in Vingegaards interest to do so. He can't beat Pogacar in a sprint so better to get other riders up who can beat him so Pogacar doesn't get anymore seconds on him.
I'm a noob to cycling so this might sound silly but, can someone explain to me what happened at 5:15 ? What do the commentators mean by "asked to give him a hand"
well i did not expect that. i used to hate those script ruiners like lafay. except they're not, they're script writers. what a sport and what a race tdf is every single year
