Venus was in no physical/medical condition to compete here. And she made this a lot harder than it needed to be. But still impressive to see her overcoming a great mover on clay, and I could watch her strike those huge forehand down the line shots all day.
It’s really hard to follow the ball over the clay in Rome. always thought this. Not sure what is different about their clay and the clay in Paris or other tournaments.

Rayshawn Ellis no she’s definitely lost some of it. It’s not been the same since the summer of 2003. Venus doesn’t utilize the backhand down the line anymore. That used to be her major weapon.
