Having just sat through a poor highlights video of the BTCC championship where we got 90 second highlights of each race, just want to say again how great these 30 minute highlights are for someone who doesn't get to watch live often. Awesome. And what a race.
Brilliant race. Action all over the place. Watched it live on sky and its one of the best races I have seen this season and that includes the F1 races. Herta.. what a drift!! 🤘🤘
He went for a gamble on the slicks and it paid off but it could have easily cost him if he spun out onto the grass instead of doing a great drift to stay on the track. Happy for him, shows he is one of the most talented drivers in the field. I was also impressed by Will Power ending up 3rd that guy smoked the pole yesterday.
Brilliant drive by Colton Herta... great race lots of action wish I was there.... IndyCar knows racing. IndyCar would do well to add a few international races the series is hot keep it rolling. I wouldn't try to be hyper international like F1 but maybe Japan, Great Britain and or Brazil or Australia would be great. What series has road courses, street races and ovals...
As devoted Charlie Kimball fan, I had trouble accepting Indycar without him in the sport. I wish he could still be racing in this sport that has never been better. But today I may have found a new driver to root for, Callum Ilot. He bringing a small underfunded team up the ranks. I was impressed with his driving today. Aggressive just like Kimball, and green just like him, lol. I love Charlie, but I need to stop mourning his unofficial retirement, when he didn't qualify for the 500, I was probably more crushed than him. He took it so well. I happy he's commentating on Indy Lights now. But I'm moving on with Mr. Ilot!
as an indy european fan i already knew who ilott was and watching that he's starting to be consider good, also with fan, in america makes me more proud of him and i've got to be honest he reminded me a bit of charlie as well. (still sad that he's not racing anymore). Callum did pretty well sunday let's hope he get even better during the season!
Our Paddock seats at the yard of bricks were PERFECT for this race. One of the best I've seen in 30 years. And, as a Pato fan, I was on the edge of my seat listening to his radio as all the teams shuffled around deciding whether to stay on drys or not. Ultimately they made the wrong choice, but man was it a fight to the last!
I am not sure how no one is saying this is one of the best races ever, does this mean Indycar races can be even better than this on road courses? Incredible race
compared to Indycar in F1 the drivers hardly make a difference. Colton & Pato could be the best drivers ever and still just compete for top 10 results or worse in the wrong car / team. Any driver who loves competition has to prefer Indycar racing - but... F1 got the prestige and more so: the money ^^
@@Bozzemoggel Facts. Actually they're candidates for a place in McLaren, so it is not bad if Colton or Pato are given the opportunity in that team, if it is in a lower team they better stay in IndyCar
@@vincesalamander5980 Yeah he's a bit hot tempered, but that's how it is when you're young and you want to prove yourself. In terms of raw speed he's the best of the field for me.
Pooched it and assumed the race was on sunday. WASN'T happy. But at least , thankfully for NTT 30 minute replay. Great race shame missed live. So mmany variables weather wise. Missed a good race live
Absolutely convinced that Herta and Pato will be in F1 in the coming years. Phenomenal drivers.. Especially Herta who is an absolute mad man on the track.
These videos are more watchable than the actual broadcast. The commercial breaks during the broadcast are way out of hand. Rhetorical question; How many commercial breaks does an F1 broadcast have?
Back when they were on free TV on RTL in Germany, you had at least 5-6 commercial breaks (about 5 minutes each) per race which meant you often missed some of the exciting stuff...
Here they have the commercials but they put two small screens(one with the broadcast, one with the commercial) and it's like 10-15s then back to the broadcast on fullscreen.
About time this series implements a different clutch or whatever the cars need to be able to keep going. You just can't have a Safety Car every single time a car spins out.
I read somewhere the other day that there was a concern F1 was going to overtake Indycar for popularity in the US. With a race like this, I doubt that will happen anytime soon. Probably more overtakes and action in this race than 2 seasons in F1 combined.
Yeah I agree I doubt they will take fans from Indy or beat Indy in popularity in USA. I feel like its becoming apparent that F1 fans are getting into Indy because of old F1 drivers in the mix like Sato, Grosjean, Ericsson, Rossi and but then potential F1 drivers in the mix the likes of Illot, Herta, and O'Ward... In my opinion I think more like Indy is playing is smart by maybe marketing itself as a F1 alternative 'actual' close racing, and just advertising themselves whenever F1 shows up in town (USA) e.g. the Miami GP.
@@n2thea You make a great point and only 1 race for the United States in F1 vs 17 or so for INDY CAR. I would like to see Indy Car do Vancouver BC or maybe a track in Mexico it doesn't have to be international but more of the Americas could be cool.
There’s no reason why both can’t coexist. While both are open wheel series, each one offers a completely different product from the other. And I love watching both
It looks pretty stupid for me that a series with pretty sturdy cars, and an appetite for hard fought on track battles (which make it amazing to watch in a way) throws a hissy fit when an "outsider" does the same.
I might not have been his fault this time but Romain obviously carried that reputation over from F1. He used to crash A LOT back then and often with his team mate :D
Amazing race, 30 minutes highlight, also amazing. But c'mon indycar, why not shown race and championship results? I can presume race results from the left panel just after Herta finishes the race, but I had to go to the website to see that Will Power is the championship leader. I could just show championship results for 5 seconds at the end just lik F1 en FE do. Respect your own product.
they did mention it quickly as Herta was finishing the race on the last lap. But you are right they should just post it after the post race celebration to fill in all the new viewers who is leading the series.
You have to figure out a better system for cautions (on road and street courses)! The racing was great, but with that amount of safety car phases, it was arduous to watch.
Especially if you were in the stands getting soaked probably a lot of caution laps half the race. I saw they had a timer set near the end for ending the race didn't know they did that. Maybe because of daylight because INDY doesn't have lights.
They stick with local cautions if they can, but if the safety workers need to go on track they throw a full course yellow. When they switch to hybrid engines that should cut it down somewhat, because the current cars lack a starter motor. On-track stalls currently almost always require a full yellow.
For all the supporting Rahal, look who ruined another drivers race again by smacking Kirkwoods race car from behind, also check our Rahal at Barber in 2011 when he slammed into the rear of Hildebrand ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IeoEFxFSD4A.html
He's a like like Lance Stroll in F1 where he has a go at another driver making a mistake then goes right ahead and does the EarthLink (an example was Monza where Vettel returned to the track at Asczri in his Ferrari and clipped Lance, who then called him an ifiot, only to return to the track in a similar manner and force another car off).
Of what possible value is the Firestone fantasy bird always in the background stealing attention at the wrong place at the wrong time? Negative over. It belongs in dizzy land not Indicar.
Formula 1: We have to call a race for rain and low visibility. Indycar: Rain? We can f***ing drive on it with large rooster tails coming out behind the rear tires!
I see your point. Of course Spa 2021 was impossible to race. But there are a LOT of F1 races where when is raining a bit more than a drizzle they red flag the race or delay it. Indycar drivers are more manly. Of course F1 drivers are no cowards but they are toooo safety biased.
@@julianr.7186 nevermind the fact that at COTA f1 is more than 18 seconds a lap faster than indycar ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2Ft3Ug_YthM.html
Drivers were not happy with visibility. That screen doesn’t shed the mist. I bet there will be changes made soon, drivers said they couldn’t see last 15 laps
Those Horners and Wolfs of "F1" should get on a plane and jumpstart their memory of how RACING should be done and look like. I mean, they cut down F1 from racing to quarelling. Makes me wanna puke when they pop up again and again on google.
