Extending Bolt and Stud Threads | Hand Threading Die

Today I show you how to extend the threads on these studs I have for my intake horn that is going on my 1st gen cummins. This 24v intake horn will replace my stock 1st gen horn but the bolts/studs I received with the intake horn were too long. I was thinking I would have to buy new bolts but I figured I would just try and thread down the studs and cut them to length. It worked out well and saved me some money. Cheers!

Thx for the vid. I bought an expensive Thule easy load XT bike hitch, but the short clamp that came with it would not fit on my Specialized Levo bike frame, because the bolt in the clamp was to short to allow the clamp to fully open and fit around my wide frame. There is a longer clamp that has a longer bolt similar to your long bolts, and I'm going to thread it down as far as I need to, and then will cut it to a good length. I'm thinking this will solve my problem and save my$1000 bike hitch from being useless.
