If Germany had won, I would be sad, but not disappointed, because they were the other best team, in my opinion. I always said that whoever won our match, would win the tournament, whether it was Spain or Germany.
After watching Spain vs Germany it becomes so hard for me to watch Portugal vs France because the other one is entertaining and the other one is boring
If you think France v Portugal was boring you don’t like the sport. Both teams played football just were unlucky when it came to finishing at times. It wasn’t a lack of ambition for either team.
Portugal vs. France did pick up towards the end of regulation with a lot of goal to goal action and became much more entertaining, but it was pretty boring up to that point.

So if you doesn´t work for the UEFA I assume u have no different pictures than the rest of us. And with them u can´t confirm anything u saying. We don´t have the exact moment the ball was played, no lines, the defender behind Füllkrug was hidden and the camera was slightly to the right. And if it was true what u saying, why didn't the UEFA just showed us everything? There would be no discussion
This should have been the final. I doubt we would see a better game than this game, in the remainder of the tournament. This was a classic game which will be remembered in the history of euro. Spain vs France will be a boring game since France continues to play their usual pragmatic or boring football.

Am still baffled by French team , in d semi final without scoring any goal. All their goals are own goals & penalty shootout & they are d bookie’s favorite.
because the bookies understand 1: Their defence is impenetrable. Defence wins your tournaments. its a knock out competition, its not about winning pretty, you justhave to win. France have always focused on their defence first, and theyve reached 3 of their 4 last major competition finals winning 2 of them, the one final they didnt manage to reach.... another defensive team (Italy) won it. 2.Mix that with a midfield that can go toe to toe with anyone, an attack which consists of the worlds best player, a manager and a squad full of players have been in finals before with LOTS of experience... you have a team than can win against anyone. why do you think they have already faced 3 top oppositions in Holland/Belgium/Portugal and still advancing ? lol its not pretty to watch but defence wins tournaments.

I couldn't believe how many chances they wasted. It was actually harder to miss than just get the ball on target. I wonder why. Are they trying too hard to hit a particular tiny spot? Seems like it.
Germany were worthy opponents, and if they had won, I would be sad but not disappointed. I just wished this game would have been the final, because Germany deserved to be runner up, not leave at quarterfinals, they are much better than any other team in the QF.

It’s open season on Spanish players EVERY time they are stuck with an English referee. No English referee should ever be in charge of a meaningful match.
Those English refs man..as inconsistent as the national team 😂 Michael Oliver gives yellow cards and penalties for nothing with constant VAR checks on GER-DEN then you get the complete opposite with Taylor knock yourselves out with tackles & fouls and I will not check VAR or give any penalties unless I see blood and broken bones 🤣🤣🤣
It's a scandal that Anthony Taylor is even allowed to ref a game on this level. Not surprised to find a history of controversy after tonight's horrible display.
@@impexRQ From the 60th minute onwards, there was not much to see from Spain. They just had that little bit of luck at the end. If you only decide the game in the 119th minute without creating the better scoring chances, you don't have to say that you were much better. Both teams were on an equal footing and played a good game. As a German, I enjoyed watching this game and I wish there were more games at this level during this European Championship. The referee let a few things slide on both sides, but overall it was okay for me. For me personally, Germany had to many unnecessary fouls in the beginning and Spain were crying too much. Toni Kroos should have gotten a yellow early on, but he would take care after that and avoid a second yellow, so one shouldn't assume he should get a red. Btw I didn't care about the penalty, Havertz should have taken his 100% chance.
The Spanish team was the favourite for me before this game, but I was surprised that Germany was more than able to keep up. That's why it gives hope for the next competitions and the Germans can still be proud. But this time we have to be fair and say - congratulations Spain!
Kroos destroyed Pedri (who wasn't 100% to begin with) and didn't even get a yellow, so he had the option of committing a flagrant foul later by yanking Olmo back when he was heading towards a one-on-one with Neuer. Kroos couldn't have done that if he had received the first yellow when he so deserved it, when he killed Pedri. On the other hand, Kroos did Spain a favor because Olmo was fantastic.
Don’t forget, Germany tries to play a nasty game and fought to force themself to win this match. Spain knew it from the matches before and accepted the German's game and joined in. Spain has the quality to finish any game for their favor, because they are skilled with and WITOUT the ball. At the end Spain got a lucky ending.
I was marveling the entire game at the way Kroos was committing one foul and the other and the ref simply ignored it until he finally committed a foul that couldn't be ignored.
To me, the real shocking one was the "foul" on Oyarzabal just out of the penalty box in Extra Time. He literally pushed him with both hands and Taylor didn't call it.
Oh and what about the second yellow for Unai Simon? The yellow for Nachos Diva dive? And FYI he played ball bevore he hit Pedri but classic furia corrupta, bribing the ref, winning and still whining🤡🤡🤡
In case of the "handball" you have to consider what the result of this action could be. And here it was a clear shot on the goal, that has been stopped. So clear goal avoided, what a big mistake from the referee!
Aww keep crying 😂just like in the world cup and when Spain played Japan and the ball was over the line but the Japan player bought it back and scored a goal and it stood and Spain lost in the round of 16 no one talked about that Var wasn't used there so shut up
Spain vs Germany was one of the best International Games I have watched in recent years in a tournament. It was a thriller, a drama with everything what football has to offer. It should have been the Final as the best two teams of this Euro were playing each other. But this victory for Spain took its toll. They have lost pretty good players for the Half Final against France.
I was not expecting Germany to win this game,so I was not disappointed. On the contrary, I am proud of how they fought till the bitter end and though I am German I think I can honestly say without any bias that Germany would have deserved it more in the end for all the chances they fought to create. Big Congratulations to Spain though who certainly also deserve to be where they are now. From now on I will be cheering for our Dutch brothers.
I would say Spain played better the first 55-60 minutes and then Germany played better the following 60 minutes. A more fair result would have been 2-2 and go to pks. On the contrary, Germany played very violently, and the ref allowed too many tackles which ended in several players getting injured. He tried to make it up by not calling those handballs(which were both coming from an offside) and by adding 4 extra minutes to the 3 minutes previously added
@@LegoranxD Si no hay gol, no hay VAR. Esas son las reglas, no serán perfectas, pero son iguales para ambos equipos. Y de haber VAR, el fuera de juego es anterior a la mano, por lo que se pitaría el fuera de juego.

Absolutely. I know Toni kroos is a legend and probably has forgotten more football than I can remember. The man acts like he is some next level game changer when we know without stacked teams he is not as effective.
Tony Kroos prefectly utilized the "You can't get a red card if it's your final professional game" rule. He deserved at least 4 yellows in that game yet he's still on the pitch after extra time. And the English ref obviously didn't get the memo - you're British, you're bias AGAINST Germany.
Don’t worry. He was biased enough. Booking half the bench including our best defensive alternative… Absolute disgrace, even without mentioning the handball. And why do the Germans always have English refs, the worst in Europe?
@@janekmundt579 Idiotic rule that. 2 yellow cards for 5 games. Talk about clearing out the best players for the final rounds -- something that really diminishes the tournament.
@@janekmundt579The handball came after a clear offside from Germany, so even if the action could be considered a pen (which it wasn't as stated by UEFA) VAR check would have never awarded a pen.
Sacking Luis Enrique after the World Cup and hiring De La Fuente is turning out to be a blessing for Spain. Great player selection from him. No bias at all. Besides that, one of the most important steps he took is to combine possession based football with a fast and direct playing style, rather than passing the ball constantly without any purpose. Spain was stuck in this phase since 2014.
Too bad Germany had more chances, more expected goals and not given the clearest penalty of all times. ESPN are clowns, but nobody could predict the Spain win, they played as equals and Germany was slightly better.
Yes and no. The thing is his plays and position are really good for the biggest opportunities he did it against Denmark and against Spain but he is not a closer…idk if füllkrug could have snatched away those failed passes to create a 1v1 against goalkeepers for a must have goal
Fan of Spain here. We really thought we would be losing this, we subbed off all our key players and we were heading to penalties against Germany with all home support. Sad to lose Pedri that early on. Delighted with the winner but it was Germany's defensive error that give them the defeat. It was against the runs of play and not expected. Probably Olmo was the difference maker. Was expecting Germany to have Fullkrug involved earlier but fortunately he came in later. Honestly should Germany started off with Fullkrug and Wirtz instead of Havertz and Sane, it could be a different story.
Yeah, I agree. As a German, I was hoping for Füllkrug to start, and Wirtz as well. I expected pretty much a 50/50 game, which it was. But it was finally a good tournament again for us, we would have deserved at least the semifinals. Anyways, if we had to lose I'm glad we lost to spain, which I hope will win this tournament now. I really like the way they play football.
All in all, the Spanish team was clearly the better team. Ball possession, passing, room division and pressing. It is a real pleasure to watch the Spanish team play. It is probably the best national team today and will go very far. However, I would not trade with the Spanish and here is why: Spain is the first country that turns into a huge dessert within the next 20 years due to global warming. (just read the predictions in the WTO Global climate Report) While Germany will still enjoy its forests, agriculture and clear water, most of Spain will become inhabitable with temperatures reaching 60 degrees during day time. Call Pedri "made of glass" but i feel like any player would get injured of that horrible challenge, some people say it wasn't even a foul which is insane.
The tackle was tough, and surely worth of a yellow card. But there is another major problem in that injury that should be addressed: Spain‘s practice to play boys in the men’s game! Yes, these boys are brilliant and face greatness in their future. But both Gavi and Pedri show that these boys had no chance to grow into a body that is tough enough for the big game. I’m sure that Yamal will pay the price as well.
Arsenal players always cost their national teams. Just ask Thierry. He never did anything for France in finals. The likes of trezeguet had to get it done
I said it that not 🌟 Fullkrug would end them, Havertz is a wishy washy player who is only good as a false no9 and if you play him somewhere else then you'll hate him also can't finish to save his life
I knew a disaster was upon us once I learned Anthony Taylor was going to be the referee. But ultimately, the German forwards weren't clinical enough because they had some really good chances, no one can still come close to Klose. Hard luck to Germany and congratulations to Spain. @@hsafootballworld1321 I totally understand. However, the problem is that there's such a talent gap between Yamal and Williams and their likely subs. Spain really lost a lot of their offensive threat when both those guys went out of the game.
Kroos should have had like 5 yellow cards today... There are whole squads that foul less in a whole tournament than Kroos in this match. I am sure Zidane was crying at home wishing he had had this ref on his last match
Carvajal should have been sent off earlier aswell. Rodri deserved a yellow earlier too. Penalty not even checked. Disgrace. Spain is the most pitiful football nation.
Frank Leboeuf is exactly right on the (non-)penalty. "Intention" is the only way to justify not giving it, but intention is just what they tried to get rid off with the rule changes. The real problem is the varying standards within the same tournament. If this was no penalty then Germany should not have been awarded a penalty against Denmark either. Just declare defeat on handball rules then and go back to intention.
The issue is not intention but whether your arm was in a natural position or not. That is what the rule looks at. You can have absolutely no intention whatsoever but if you hand was high up in the air or it was wide from your body then it’s a penalty. If your arm is next to your body, in other words, a natural position of where your arm should be, then obviously can’t give a penalty for that. If we gave penalties for that, it would mean that the rule book is required to pretend that humans do not have arms on their bodies. You can imagine how unrealistic that rule would be then.
But the issue with "intention" here is, at the start Cucurella has both arms out wide, but when he moves, he only moves his right arm towards his body and keeps his left arm out, which then hits the ball and blocks a shot on goal.
It doesnt matter if the ball goes to hand. The rule is if the hand stops a ball from a scoring opportunity its a handball! Disgusting they didnt review it
Except that’s not the rule for penalties. The rule is it’s not a penalty if your arm was in a natural position when the ball made contact. People have arms and hands, it’s illogical for you to expect the rule book to be designed in a way that pretends that people don’t have these appendages.
@@abongilezolanipeterson5588 In almost ten out of ten cases a ref would call a situation like this a handball. And you know this if you have any ball knowledge.
@@armadspengler2717they use VAR? So they'd review the footage and see his arms went towards his body not away so actually 10/10 times they'd overturn a handball decision when everything is on the screen
That is simply not true. If the player has done all he can to get the arm/hand out of the way but simply can't because he doesn't have time then it does not neccessarily have to be a penalty. Also you ignore the fact that Kroos should have had his second yellow by the 15th minute and Germany should have played most of the game with 10 men. The amount of fouls commited by Germany that should have been yellow cards by the 20th minute is ridiculous. Seriously if that wasn't the home team they would have had at least 8 yellows by half time and Rudiger and Kroos should have had 2 each.

No it wasn't. And that wasn't what they called anyway. Blocking a shot in the box with your hand is a penalty, whether you meant to or not. It alters the play. This has always been. The Cucurella handball is the literal textbook definition of said situation. If you do not believe this, answer me this: why do defenders place their hands behind their back when defending inside the box? If it's good enough to just put them at their side they would do that. But that's not what the rules allow. Anyone with eyes that work and basic common sense can tell that's a handball and warrants a penalty shot.
