Extract from In The Midst of Plenty ("Your Mercy") 

This is an extract from In The Midst of Plenty (2023) in which Grainne Hunt performs a verbatim rendition of the Widow Kilmartin's petition to her landlord Major Denis Mahon, on 14 July, 1848, pleading not to be evicted. The Widow Kilmartin's petition can be found in the Strokestown Park Archive.
In The Midst of Plenty is part of the Great Famine Voices 2023 season that is hosted by the National Famine Museum, Strokestown Park, and Irish Heritage Trust with funding from the Government of Ireland Emigrant Support Programme.
