Extraordinary! Explorer yacht OLIVIA O from 2018/20 is a regular guest in the Caribbean during the winter season.
Built by a Norwegian shipyard renowned for its expertise in commercial vessels, ferries, and workboats, the 290’4’’/88.5 meter long OLIVIA O stands out with her distinctive reverse bow and explorer-style profile.
It marks the debut of Ulstein's patented X-Bow on a yacht, promising reduced pitching in rough seas, improved efficiency in navigating smaller waves, and enhanced comfort during higher speeds.
With a reported gross tonnage of 4,989 tons, OLIVIA O ranks among the most spacious yachts for her 88-meter length. Spread across five decks, her accommodations include a bridge positioned high and forward.
This very special yacht has been ordered by an owner with a significant interest in commercial shipping.
The hull was delivered in 2018 and based on commercial reasons it had been decided to have it shipped to the Palumbo yard in Malta for painting, fairing, and outfitting.
This support yacht, which is often also described as an explorer or expedition yacht which is boasting an enormous 4,989 GT, showcases exterior styling crafted by Ulstein Verft in partnership with renowned designer Espen Oeino. Key on-deck features comprise a commercially-rated helipad, a 10-meter pool, and a full-beam tender garage amidships, engineered to operate seamlessly even in adverse weather conditions.
The interior design of the yacht - developed by Droulers Architecture from Italy - follows a Japanese theme, incorporating abundant wood, various textures, and soft, pale colors. Oriental elements are complemented by metallic surfaces, adding a refined and polished touch to the overall ambiance.
OLIVIA O offers accommodation for up to 20 guests across eight cabins. From publications we understand that the cabins boast a height of 2.70 meters, akin to hotel rooms! The yacht has been designed to accommodate a crew of 30!
OLIVIA O is constructed with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, featuring aluminum and teak decks. Propelled by twin electric Rolls-Royce Marine 2,146 horsepower engines, she effortlessly cruises at 14 knots and achieves a maximum speed of 15 knots.
