If you have good hot sunlight ,then just bring some water to a boil, add a little salt, grate potato chips into the water ,cover vessel with a lid, switch off flame, let it rest 5min,then strain the water, lay the chips on a plate and dry in hot sun till they make a crack sound when broken, sometimes it takes two or three days,Store in a tight lidded tin and deepfry whenever you want, sprinkle with pepper.Sometimes the potatoes turn little grayish in the sun,if you are particular about color then add a pinch of alum to the salt water,

First of all if you have time, preparing your own food brings you so much pleasure, second you’re avoiding all the crap that industrialized food could contain. But ironically enough you have time to write a negative comment for this video... be nice and just thank for the effort for the video.

The ones who are complaining that it takes too long, firstly most people now have the time, and secondly instead of making the small quantity they did in the videos you can double it or triple it, because you can store it later when it is dried and fry it when you want, and it’s healthy , I don’t think it’s a waste of time at all, and I applaud the efforts done in making this video, instead of moping or scrolling through your tiktok in this critical time you can entertain yourself by learning something new and useful.

Most of the process is easy+fast or completely unattended. The only thing I can see being an issue for people is deep frying, but a lot of households do deep fry regularly so wasting oil would not be an issue because of reuse, and you could also minimize oil use with a wok pan for larger surface area with less oil. It's not nearly as bad as comments are making it out to be lol

In Indonesia, we called it kerupuk and it was made by rice flour cracker. Although many was made not only from rice flour but also potato or casava starch, we still called it kerupuk.

If you use a dehydrator, this is a really fast to make snack. Yes, it takes days, but actual working time is very short and doesn’t require you to check back every so often.

The short cut version would be to make raw potatoes chips boil in salty water for 2 mins remove the chips drain water & dry the chips in the sun. Your chips r ready to fry . My mom use to make it for us every summer .

You can make the same crunch with rice or pasta( half boil then let dry in the sun for the amount of time, then fry) instead of kneading potato dough. I've tried it, and it's much easier.
