Here I take my Extrema Ratio Satre neck knife out (the only knife i took with me this day) to see what I could do wit it. The small drop point blade is no longer than a regular Swiss Army type knife however, that's where any similarity ends.

Hi there, ok I will take this onboard and think about some videos, many have actually asked for such videos.

I've got one of these on order to pair with my Selvans. I'll attach it via the molle. For me this is the lose up work knife. The Selvans is for bigger tasks. Of course I'll have a Silky with me along with my custom Nepalese made Kuhkri. All bases are covered.

I think - very high price for small skeleton knife. Anyway , is made by great company , high quality steel , harismatic .

G'day BCT, I always carry a smaller fella as a secondary blade, though not around my neck, since I often have a compass or small binos there to start with. Certainly on the belt or with a decent pocket clip and maybe lanyard is fine. I do like the simplicity of this one and is no doubt much more robust than a SAK and others. Would be good to have some scales IMO, much like what Cold Steel did with the Survivalist. Though in fairness a para wrap may well come in handy for other uses. Btw; I'm a big fan of carabiners too, (in multiple sizes), just so useful for negligible weight. Cheers Duke.

@BushCampingTools 2 года назад
Yeah i think some scales would not have gone astray. i might fashion some for mine as time goes by but the 2mm cord i put on there is ok as it still fits the scabbard easily enough. If i put some scales on it I'll have to modify/change the scabbard i think.

Thanks for the vid, love the way it looks. I’m surprised extrema labels this as a bushcraft knife, it’s clearly not. I would have figured it suits their edc or neck knife section better. I do wish this was a sheathed blade for the belt instead of the kydex as really, nobody’s going to neck carry a knife on the daily. I prefer standard classic blade shapes like this. But I was disappointed to see this knife was only 5mm thick. Just like the s600 steel this seems to be a first for extrema. I really enjoyed their 6.3mm standard thickness and it’s strange, even on their smaller neck knife models the blades are 6.3mm thick and I really enjoy them because of that. Not sure why extrema made this move to 5mm as the design of this knife would have benefited greatly from that extra 1.3 mm. Either way this looks like a great blade for every day light to medium duty tasks such as opening packages, maybe breaking small limbs for a fire, or basic food prep like cutting an apple or orange.
@BushCampingTools
@BushCampingTools 2 года назад
Hi, I think/guessing the move to 5mm for such a knife is a consequence of many also complain that 6.3mm is too thick. You can't win them all LOL! Thanks for watching! They are going to selling this model with a USA made ULTI clip next year, so they work well for pocket carry.

@@BushCampingTools my satre arrives today, I’ve already got a few ulti clips for my nk1/nk2 knives. Although I’ve found a drawback to the ulti clip on these blades. The ulti clip adds additional rigidity to the back of the kydex sheaths, which normally needs to flex when inserting the knife. This has caused the blade to dig into the kydex and slowly chip away at the plastic

Hi there, yes he must be proud of his design for sure. I'm sure that S600 version will stay sharp for a long time of use. Wow 30 years you must have known each other since teenagers ! Thanks for watching!

@enrygarcia
@enrygarcia 2 года назад

What gloves are you wearing? Are they good for using a knife in cold weather? Thank you very much
@BushCampingTools
@BushCampingTools 6 месяцев назад
These are only for warm weather unless you want to buy inner gloves made of merino wool or similar. I have such liners. These types of liner gloves, very thin but warm are usually worn by ice climbers inside of other gloves (BTW I'm not ice climbing-yet). If you wear such liners inside of the gloves I'm wearing then the dexterity is still very good indeed. The actual gloves are made with both Goat leather and synthetics and the brand is Direct Action; model is called "Hard Gloves". They are very good for handling knives and guns IMHO. However, as I said for prolonged cold u should use them with a thin liner such as wool.

Hi, I wanted to ask you if the back of this n690co steel knife generates sparks when rubbed with the flintlock? Let me know, thanks Michele.

Hi, I'm yet to try it but it probably could, although there are so many other things which can be used to strike steel, eg broken quartz mineral, glass, etc.

It's not meant to replace a Mora. These neck knives are only for those who like this style of knives and are not for everybody. I say this in the video
@abramoparoli3848
@abramoparoli3848 2 года назад

Hi there, nothing can beat a knife with a proper handle on it such as your example of a MORA. This knife however, it not intended to fi into that market, I don't think anyone would agree with that. Some people like these neck knives, it is a very personal choice rather than an absolute practical one I think.
@robertsk4523
@robertsk4523 4 месяца назад
Please, never use your knife in the fire, it will get damaged and it loses its hardness
@BushCampingTools
@BushCampingTools 4 месяца назад
Don't worry, just momentarily! Not enough to change the temper. One thing about N690 it was intended for un lubricated milling at high temp without reduction of hardening. But of course to make a habit of sticking in the coals would be very stupid, that I agree upon. Thanks for watching!
