I fished with Jeremy Wade. Then went to Wendy’s in a minivan late at night to get some food. Really nice guy and down to earth. Good hearted authentic person was my impression. 10 out of 10 would fish with him again
"On Golden Pond" - they catch rainbow trout but the place is more known for smallmouth bass. "Grumpy" and "Grumpier Old Men" - comedy legends and ice fishing
Apparently he has a new show where he catches fish only found in deep ocean water. I just saw the title when I was surfing on Discovery+ and I have no idea if it is a new show or a special for River Monsters but there is a chance he is starring in a new show.
@@nazhirleonard1407 its called Dark Waters and its not deep see fishing it is where he goes to various countries and and tries to catch "legendary fish." I saw a clip where he travelled to a country to try and catch a giant pike. I think it is on Discovery+.
If he doesn't go down in history I'll be disappointed. He would go to places people like him had never been, immerse himself in the culture, catch legendary fish, and all the while maintain his extremely likable composure. An explorer, a scholar, and a gentleman.
yup, im 21 so i remember watching steve irwin but river monsters was a huge part of my child hood. jeremy single handedly sparked my passion for fishing.
I'll admit discovery channel's and animal Planet I watched when I was a kid made me smarter and gave me the thought that protecting the environment is a responsibility
If you don’t know who Jeremy Wade is, he had a show called river monsters in which he had to end the show because he caught all the river monsters in the world… a true legend basically
@@Tazekiy just River monsters on RU-vid, he talks about certain episodes and what he had to go through while searching for a river monster. Things like that.
The cast away guy Jeremy was referring to that they happened upon, I've worked with that guy's brother before. He had apparently taken his boat out for the day as he would usually but wanted to find a new spot to fish at. He didn't take any gps or maps with him as he thought he had reasonable knowledge of the area, however became lost after losing his boat. He spent 3 or 4 days on this tiny island that literally had nothing on it, no trees, no animals just sand and rock. He eventually spotted some turtles and started to swim out to them to catch them, then Jeremy and his filming crew started cruising around the corner of this deserted island and saw this guy. Very fortunate.
Bro respected local cultures, respected the fish, survived a plane crash, got arrested as a spy, caught malaria, fished in Chernobyl, caught the Loch Ness Monster, and he’s still not totally done with fishing even though he’s probably caught every fish there is He deserves the title of a god
The fly fishing part was very generic and it sounded like he did a quick google search on fly fishing while he was explaining it but that’s my only critique.
Jeremy has led such an amazingly crazy life. Multiple aviation crashes, being arrested for being a spy... so many more. He may actually be the most interesting man in the world.
Jeremy Wade is also a very good writer. I really recommend his book "River Monsters" - there he vividly describes his adventures before the TV series and details out of his private life. A must for everybody loving Jeremy.
Oh my goodness, it’s Jeremy Wade! Mate, we’ve really missed seeing your shows! Every now and then I’ll watch a recording of River Monsters with my father who is a fly-fisher. We enjoy watching so much, thanks for the great times!
Jeremey Wade is a true angler, and outdoorsman. A class act of a man. Compelling commentary and interesting insights of what fishing is and different ways to fish!
he’s almost in his 60s now right? have seen him without his shirt on and he’s still very in shape, bicep veins and abs, defined muscles but still hydrated. whatever he’s doing it’s working
I wouldn't expect him to age much.. My current theory is that, for catching so many enormous and dangerous fish, he gained the blessing of Poseidon and may or may not be some form of fishing related Demigod.. But, that's just a theory, at least until he smites someone.
Man Vs. wild, survivor man, Myth busters, Deadliest catch, brain games, dinosaur planet, and River monsters were my child hood. The man has never aged a day!
The main thing I see wrong with fishing in TV and movies is that everything is usually too clean and organized. They'll have some kid who fishes every day at a local pond or whatever, and all his tackle looks like it was bought that morning. You never see anyone pull a tangled gob of lures out of a tackle box. You never see stuff that looks beat up and decades old.
I occasionally clean my lures and tackle box. But most of the time the way you described is how it looks. I think on film they just have props that they use because you know tackle boxes can be pretty noisy. And they don't want actors to get hurt, for fear of liability.
With such a long off-season, I get plenty of time to clean my tackle boxes! My ice fishing boxes are cleaned in the summer, and my summer boxes cleaned in the winter!
Fly fishing is an art. A art that's learned over time. I love fly fishing. My dad taught me how to do it. I think the greatest thing is being able to put that fly in places that you can never get a regular fishing pole into. And to watch the line lay down on the top of the water is something else. I could keep going but if you fly fish you already know what I'm talking about.
@@merchant69420 catch and release, the thrill of fishing is the catch. Nothing else to it. Just a hobby like all other sports there’s no real reason to it other than the enjoyment
@@merchant69420 it’s a lot about respecting the nature for a lot of people. Also sometimes it’s against the rules to keep certain fish or you want that fish to live because it’s important for the ecosystem.
I’m a huge fisherman, and I always have been. Look at the name of my channel. I literally say one thing out of habit when I catch of fish. FISH ON!! I won’t say anything at all sometimes, but if I do, “fish on” is the only expression I use! Much love and respect to Jeremy Wade!
I feel like every little too he gives about fishing is being hard coded in the back of my primitive survival brain for the rare chance I may be suck in a survival situation.
Fun fact: the reason river monsters ended was because they literally didn't have anymore fish worth noting for him to catch because he had literally caught all of them. He literally did a 100% completion of freshwater fishing, legendary
They canceled his show because he got so good, they couldn’t find any more monsters to catch. You don’t realize how much of a legend this dude is. Jeremy Wade is fish Jesus
I'm surprised that they didn't include the scene in jaws when Quinn battles the shark. One of the best scenes in any movie and my favorite fishing scene.
Do a video in which a Judge Advocate General Corp (JAG Corp) lawyer reacts to court martial in movies & tv shows like JAG,N.C.I.S ,A Few Goodmen, Rules Of Engagement, Men Of Honour & SEAL Team etc.
River Monsters is still my favorite show of all time. I grew up on the Fox River and never really gave any thought to diving right into the water. This show put the fear of God in me. To this day I will not go in unless it absolutely has to be done.
Jeremy Wade is such an underrated person. There isnt many videos like this about Jeremy Wade. When there is it doesn’t get many views. He’s filming a new tv show called unknown waters and I couldn’t find much about it.
My brother loved watching Jeremy and managed to get me into River Monsters despite my indifference towards fishing (no disrespect, I’m just not an outdoorsy person). My brother was an excellent fisherman which amazed me because no one else in our family ever caught anything over a couple inches long!
“anglers might be surprised to hear that I’ve fished with a spear” Exactly zero people are surprised to hear that Jeremy. You could tell me you fished with a toothpick and I’d believe you
I’ve grown up watching River Monsters and this man was one of the reasons of my life long curiosity for the natural world. So glad to see him again spreading his knowledge and wisdom to people. Great move for sure!
