Is anyone else screaming with me "NO WIRE HANGERSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!"? Also, regarding the pageant dresses, if my mother told me I couldn't get rid of something, then I'd tell her it has to live in HER closet, not mine. 😉

It was actually really nice to hear Jason use the word "retired" when decluttering his clothes. It made the decluttering and justification of decluttering the items seem more natural. I loved it.

I love how all your friends with a bedroom declutter own a wig. It never fails. Gotta love theater folks!

This time you were a declutter doula: 😄 She basically did it all herself, she just needed a buddy in you to get it done. And Jason didn't just "help", he was involved. And nice to hear his pride about the work at the end of the video.

I love watching men’s reactions to decluttering decisions. My husband was adamantly opposed to decluttering his clothes UNTIL he couldn’t fit anymore unto his closet rods & he finally realized that his “Dadbod” had changed shape (it happens!). He ended up removing two large black garbage bags full! We gave some away to nephews & his younger brothers because even used, I have always kept his clothes in great condition. The few things that were left were donated to the local thrift store for the disabled.

I just found your channel recently, after years of abuse you are what I needed you got me up and motivated. I've been down n didn't have the strength to stand up after an abusive relationship. I'm a strong woman but got too many kicks.. I survived. I'm loving your decluttering videos. You have Mr the strength in my journey to more on. I Thankyou .

You are so patient Carla! The way you calmly listen to all of the stories told for each item - wow! And people really seem to need to do that as part of the process. What a sweet couple they are! And they did a great job getting rid of so much - I'm sure it feels great! The only things I was struggling with were the hangers!! lol! I know it's better not to waste or to spend more money - but I was saying outloud to the screen that while Jason was out getting Command Hooks to get some packs of the velvet hangers or at least matching ones - I always think that takes the final product to another level! Regardless, you & Jason & Heather did an amazing job ♥♥♥

I'll admit, I'm nosy 😂. Also it's just satisfying, seeing space decluttered and reorganised. I'm doing crockery at the moment. Finding it tricky because you have to wrap it up and pack it properly. I've brought it into the house either in its box, or wrapped in newspaper from the thrift store, one item at a time, but it has to go in bulk. Word of caution folks, don't overbuy crockery/breakable items, they're a pest to get rid of!

They did such a great job of decluttering. The closet looks so much better. I would've not only organized by type of clothing, but by color. Black, white, roygbiv (red, orange, yellow, blue, indigo, violent) It makes the space look so much nicer and organized. Plus, it's so easy to find what you're looking for.

I use packing cubes to store my “out of season” clothes. I put them on the highest shelf of my closet. I do the same with some of my favourite clothes if they are too big or too small. I am 48 y.o. and my weight fluctuates. I allow myself one size up and down, I know I will never wear European size 36 again (mother of 3 here 😊 )

Carla, I appreciate that you are so positive to things people are keeping. When I've seen people keep things they should let go, I just stay quiet.

This is the second video of yours that I've watched. I am so inspired by how you are able to start and complete the space in one day!! The first video I watched was an extreme garage decluttering and it took, you and the homeowner, 9 hours from start to finish. I NEED THAT TYPE OF HELP, FOCUS, BODY DOUBLING, AND CONTINUED MOTIVATION, to tackle...Our garage, Attic, Our Master Closet and A Section of Our Master Bedroom. We recently (it's been at least a year😬🤭😮) did a "Master Bedroom Refresh." I've packed up the original decor into totes but I don't know what to do with it all...Now! They have been and still are, taking up space in Our Master Bedroom. I get to a point where, "I feel like I'm just going in circles."😢 I feel like I make loads of progress only to feel defeated by the previous years worth of decor items. As far as Our Master Closet goes...I can get through about 1/3 to about 1/2 of the space and just crash. I get decision fatigue and I haven't figured out how to get passed it. I should add, that our closet serves as extra storage, like keepsakes, a filing cabinet, etc...as well as all of mine and my husband's clothing, shoes, and accessories, of course. This is way too long 😂 I apologize for dumping all of this in your comments section. I just thought maybe someone else might see that they aren't alone. There are other people out here currently struggling with the same things that they are currently struggling with. I feel like sections of my house adds to my anxiety....but there's only so much of me to go around, ya know?!

Just imagine how nice the finished product would look with all matching hangers. That would be one of the first things I did after you worked your magic on my closet. Great job!

For the first time I'm seeing a husband helping. That's great. So funny,when he saw the mess and suggested closing the door and walk away from it. 😅❤ The pageant dresses: even "normal" dresses are hardly worn again. The dress we saw was beautiful, like from a fairytale, but I doubt the daughter will want it, different taste etc. When she said, she won't wear uncomfortable shoes again....I can so relate. Made that decision a couple if years ago (I'm in my middle fifties). 😅 Is it easier for men letting go of stuff ? Husband seamed so relaxed sorting things out and with a bug portion of humour 😂

This was great fun to watch ! It feels very relatable bc they're regular people with a regular closet, so it seems more achievable than some magical perfect "Pinterest-worthy" staged scene that isn't really practical to use & live in. Thanks to you & your friends who let you share this with us :)

I am a very organized person. I color coordinate all of mine and husband's clothes in our walk in closet. It makes it so much easier and faster to get dressed. I love clothes and have a lot, but do purge every Spring and Autumn, getting rid of things I have not worn in the past year. Living in Indiana, we have to have seasonal clothes. I suggest that you, Carla, color coordinate clothes in your client's closets and drawers. It makes a much more organized wardrobe!

Carla!!! You have some of the best energy out there. This was a wonderful start on their road to decluttering their home. Would love to see them have matching velvet type hangers to bring in the cohesiveness to the closet. The colorful boxes that houses the pictures swapped out for matching all white boxes from IKEA would really pop! I hope you begin to create a series that showcases what the homes look like once your pop in 3-4 months later. 🥰

great 'makeover' !! my main hangup with declutering is what to do whith the stuff that i dont want because a lot of types taking it to certain spots means only a small percentage of it will be donated and most of it is going to the landfill

They should get some garment bags for the winter coats as well as the sentimental dresses- they are great and will help preserve the items when not being used! Nice work!

Men are typically easier to declutter clothing with. They both did really well with knowing what to let go of. Very pleasant video and nice results.

I'm excited to declutter again!! Thank you. I started about this time last year in the kitchen, then I hit the bedroom closet and dresser. Since then, I decluttered the kitchen two more times (it gets easier 😊). I had injuries that were getting worse, so my organization/decluttering came to an end. I'm now healing from hip replacement surgery and watching your videos ... AND .. watch out world, in just a few more weeks, I'm getting my game on!!!!!! I can't wait.

When a chain store closed, they were selling off their hangers. I love the stronger clear plastic hangers and pants hangers! I still have them 10 years later and I bought a lot when I did. I can’t stand wire hangers or those flimsy plastic hangers.

I can tell that they are both analytical thinkers,hence why they hit it off. Carla, you did a awesome job as always!

If you have seasonal clothes, try magic bags. Bring out spring/summer let's say ,try everything on, purge and then pack up winter etc. Ditto in fall. I use a Rubbermaid type bin the put flattened stuff in. Also try pant racks.

Just FYI…H&M recycles worn out clothing and drapes etc. Instead of trashing old, worn or torn clothes, one could recycle them. They also give you a coupon toward a new item.
