This is something I have yet to look forward to (and trust me when I say that I am)! We are currently set to close on a "new to us" 970 square foot house on August 2nd. Currently I am staring at stacks of packed boxes filling what feels like every square inch of our apartment. And I am beyond excited to just get moved and to unpack all of these boxes and get back to my normal life. I tend to be a very clean and organized person, so living in amongst all of this clutter and chaos is not fun!! Congrats to you and your family on the new home.
I love the organization, I made my husband watch your last two videos with me and I now have him convinced we need to do this!! Also, a girl can never have too many clothes 😊
Yes I fold my clothes like you so much easier to see everything. Walk in wardrobes in America are a God send you are so lucky.Your new home is beautiful
I wish I was as organized as you. I love clothes and shoes. We have a small walk in closet. And I gave my husband the back rod. He doesn’t have much in the way of clothes. He only wears short sleeve shirts year round. I have the long rod. And it’s always crammed. And I go through it quite often. I have my clothes by sleeve length. We live in Georgia, and it’s warm most of the time. So I have a lot of short sleeve shirts. I do have some long sleeve shirts still in my closet. I have a tote I could put them in to get them out. I know I won’t be wearing them for a while. I also have blazers and dresses in the guest bedroom closet. I need to clean that closet out. And under the rods I have shoe racks. They are full with some things that fall off. I need to clean them out too. I don’t even want to think about Christmas. I live in a small house. I have to rearrange my furniture just to put the Christmas tree up. And then I take a lot of things off the shelves I have to decorate. Christmas is really the only season I decorate for. But I can wait a while for that. 😊
I am currently opening boxes and I did not organize like you did. I was told by Realtor to hurry and get it in storage and oh my gosh, it took me a year after that cause people kept saying we are closing closing and then not finishing because they didn’t qualify it happened to me three times finally we just did it in June and I am so excited. I’m in the house but oh my we have a lot to do.

You categorised them first and from there you categorised them to color...so easy...and more easier to put away... it's looking less cluttered and some much better!!!
I am a sailor, so the ocean and the beaches are for me. Actually, any time it is below 74 degrees is just too cold for me. I love your talent for decorating. I have learned much from watching you do both yours and your parents' houses. Thanks for all you teach us.

So....I am one of those people that I color coordinate my clothing but only for solids and graphic tees. Tabk tops/sleeveless and patterned shirts are just grouped together. It helps my brain only because when I was going into work vs wfh I always was searching to find this specific shirt I wanted to wear and it saves me time.
Don’t feel bad about how many clothes you have. You seem to enjoy going shopping for clothes. You have closet space for them. I don’t feel like you go crazy with home decor and lots of other things other ppl collect. Also you have a nice figure so clothing is probably easy to find and wear as opposed to some one who doesn’t enjoy clothes shopping as much. Also don’t worry about Christmas. It’s months away. It’s going to be fun decorating for the first time. Who likes doing the same old thing every year. This year will come together and be beautiful as always. You can try the tree missing a section maybe or you can throw it up see how it looks then later buy another one. If you’re stressing out put it up early just to see it in the space to try it out NOT decorated then store it again but atleast you’ll give yourself time to order a smaller one since a lot of the nicer ones sellout out quickly. But only for your own piece of mind not for everyone else you have enough to worry about right now.

Michelle don’t worry about Christmas yet you still have plenty of time and just take your time decorating and I do like folding my clothes Kamari method. Thanks for the motivation I need to go back in my closet and get rid of some clothes!!!❤❤
Unfortunately my OCD doesn’t do well with just hanging up stuff 😜 I color coordinate and hang from short sleeve and all the hangers have to match 🤦🏻♀️ 😁

You should turn your clothing hangars backwards and then when you wear something then hang it normally. Then after a year decide if you still want the clothes that are still backwards.
Dollar Tree and Home Depot for Hardware or Michaels they have a unique Hardware they make a closet hanging organizer for shorts and t-shirts you can get at 12 drawer hanging organizer. Works great
Girl someone may have beat me to this but....Hobby Lobby is the best place fore hardware that is different. I have found some for dressers I have remodeled and they are awesome.
When I declutter, I just donate everything. I don't usually try to find someone to give it to. I do have exceptions. Like my sons clothes tgat he outgrows. I give them to my bff because she has 2 sons that could use them. But mostly I just donate to the Salvation Army
I color code but they’re categorized so it’s the best of both. Plus it seems my husband and my clothes are mostly gray, dark blue, and black 😅 My daughter has mostly pink so it’s not that difficult for the three of us. My son is a good mix
I feel like if you swapped your summer clothes to the top half of your closet and put the heavier thicker looking winter clothes on the bottom then your closet wouldn't feel so full and or top heavy and it would be easier for your to see all you summer clothes as they are at eye level and also they wouldn't be as long so you would be able to see your shoes better that are under your clothes on the shelf. Of course things like jeans you have to hang high but if you want your closet to feel more open and airy then I'd switch the summit clothes to the top half.
I don't think you have too many clothes in fact I think you can definitely fill your space more, but the thicker heavier clothes allows the thinner smaller clothes on top to help you feel more open on the top.
For me, I have 10 things I wear. Boring. I think when people say you have a lot of clothes it's because people like me don't even know where to start. So you're actually gifted that you can pick outfits and organize the clothes. 👏
hi @Michelle O'Malley how i organize my clothes in my closet is that i go by seasonal the right side of my closet is fall/winter and the left side is spring/summer i love it like that plus i don't have a big closet
Use the Xmas trees and decorations that you have. I wouldn't get rid of anything especially your trees. You can figure it out. It just seems intimidating because you haven't done it before.
I have got so many clothes. I don’t know what to do with myself. I’ve got clothes from when I was working. I’ve got clothes that my daughter has given me. I’ve got clothes that I got from after my mother passed away. I’m trying to weed everything out, but it’s taking me a long time to go through things because something have sentimental and I’m reluctant to get rid of them.
That’s ok! I just do a little at a time. I feel like it’s easier for me to go through winter clothes in the summer and summer clothes in the winter because I’m not wearing them that season. I just like it in small doses instead of a huge purge. That’s what works best for me! You got this!
"Living life as Meghan" just installed some beautiful pulls and knobs in her kitchen in a gold finish. I think you would like them. She does a lot of research before buying anything so you may want to reach out to her.
By the way I threw out my Christmas tree because one of the lights that was already tied to the tree was broken I’m going to get a very nice one next year
