Extreme Cold Lake Trout!

Lewis and I head out for some Lakers on our day off! we tie into 5 Lakers and miss a big whitefish under the ice! land 2 lake trout, one being a nice small 4 pounder! Had the Mr. Heater pumping out great heat keeping us warm through the -40 Celsius temps! Unfortunately no big fish were caught, but that's lake trout fishing! Hope you guys enjoy the video. Yeah no kidding! Lakers are usually still quite active during the bad weather! Good species to target during the middle of winter when everything else slows down

Nice fishin bud!! Love my buddy heater too. We made a grill attachment for ours you should try doing man you can cook and what not on it. Let me know I can shoot ya the link. Keep up the good work man

Yeah I tried to pull out and reverse the grill and it ended up melting the fins where the blower comes out :/ I'd love the link! How does it work for cooking? I know the big buddy gets extremely hot for cooking!

Thanks! I've got a humminbird 698 hd di. I use it in my boat during the summer but I'd reccomend a helix 7 gen 2, or if you're looking for portable, the humminbird fishin' buddy is a great one too!

@@FishingTheNorth solid. Never been to that lake but seen some good brook trout fishing around that area in some lakes and streams. I'm heading back up to around hearst to nipigon area hitting some rivers before the brook trout season closes. Caught some 3-4 pounders in a small creek last month going to try it again before it closes.

Plenty of the smaller river systems have fantastic brook trout fishing! Sounds like you’ve found quite a honey hole. Regrettably, brook trout is a species I don’t target enough! Sounds like that will be one heck of a trip. Nipigon is on the bucket list for sure

@@FishingTheNorth Bug season was the worst I've seen up there at the beginning of July. The bugs should be gone by now. Definitely is, there's quite a few epic creeks around there that offer better brook trout fishing then some fly ins in the area. I'll be posting some footage of my previous trip in a few days before I head out.

Mine was a 34” medium fast 13 fishing inferno with 8lb braid and a 6’ long 10# fluro leader. Lew was fishing a 38” med-light St. Croix with an older Shimano reel, 10lb braid and a 10# fluro leader.
