You can make "dupes"look better than expensive store bought items. That's what the ladies are doing now. Thrifting and "duping" never goes out of style.

I been in the last 9 months making this home. ( rent our place before it was built no steps no outside yard work ) Love from Michi9gan.

Anna, you did it again. So lovely and welcoming for your guests! I know that painting above the bed was a bit of a splurge but it is totally you and so pretty. You can use that anywhere in your home. It's perfect! I love the little basket on the bed with things for your guests (great idea I am going to steal that when my daughter and her boyfriend come to visit in a couple of weeks). I also purchased a cute bamboo luggage rack from Wayfair for one of their suitcases and then found another...I hope it makes it in time! I also love the ZZ plant. They are so beautiful and easy to care for. my gets watered once per week and loves any light you can give it. They also will do well in low-light situations. Plants really do bring life to a room!!!!

I love thrift shopping and going to yard sales. I don’t have any kids yet and I’m 23 but me and my husband are planning on having some soon. I live in North Carolina on my in law’s farm with my husband. I love your positive energy and how you explained that your struggles at first didn’t stop you from striving. Anna, I love your Guest Room and the decor looks so pretty and so inviting for your Guests. I finally found a new Cape Cod Home out in the Country on 3 acres in which we just closed on 3 days ago. Movers are coming on Tuesday and I can not wait to get things in their place. I did ordered a new Bedroom Set and Living Room Furniture and will be here on Wednesday. Hi. This was my first time watching your channel. I am now a subscriber. I had an idea for you. Instead of investing money for a box spring, just get plastic bed risers. I’ve used them and they work great to raise the bed. Also allows more under bed storage room.
I enjoy Carrie Lynn's channel too. More and more people are doing DIYs. Everything is so expensive too. You know what? I wish that I was more adept with the power tools also. Your story and beginning are like most of us. I started out in an apartment with my sister and we had thrift finds and pass ons from my mom and aunt but when my live-in boyfriend came to live with me he brought the mother load. His boss and wife at the time gave us a whole house full of furniture. Everyone thought that it all was brand new. I mad it work and made it look good. That's the key right there. You have to make it livable. A coat of paint works wonders. It can make a room look brand new.
I use to scrub and clean like crazy everyday and cook because I wanted to make sure that my child and live in boyfriend were well taken care of. Everybody envied the lady in the hood over there with the nice apartment! I've had some stuff now. I used to give a lot of stuff away too to neighbors. I just have to get more motivated and get back into the groove now.
Oh and like you I've had to work extra to make ends meet too. A main job and two or fours days on another one. That's how we made it and got the things that we wanted and needed. Christmas; school shopping,etc. I think most people are especially doing that now. Rental fees and mortgages are through the roof! Gas prices! You also want to take care of yourself and maintain. It's just nice to know that you have a little extra there too.
