Hello, Friend!' My name is Anna and I am so happy you stopped by! My husband and I are empty nesters. We love to garden and take care of our home. Gardening takes over in spring through fall and house projects pock up too! We love to share our home and garden with you all in hopes that we can help you create a beautiful home and garden as well!
I love the idea of removing the clock and I do try to do this on my days off. I've been an empty nester for a while now and it sure was a struggle in the beginning. Thanks for sharing your day with us and reminding us that it doesn't have to cost a ton to find joy in the everyday things!
You and Ernie have a beautiful family, Anna.. Love the attention to detail in making the guest bedroom and bath extra special for your children's visit. If I was your son and daughter-in-law, I would think twice about returning to Arizona..😉🌞🌵
Wanted to tell you Anna, I purchased the cordless Shark vacuum and I love it on my hardwood floors..and I started watching your very first videos when you lived in the new home in California with your son and his family..love the front yard with the sitting area and all the beautiful plants..I too have wondered what a home looks like inside when the homeowner takes the time to decorate the front of their home with such love.....my home is Colonial and the front porch and shutters scream Colonial, along with a Betsy Ross flag flying in the breeze..no guessing from my neighbors or people walking by..😊
Know you are on vacation, Anna..Just wanted to comment, I too love Queen Anne milk chocolate covered cherries and loved your homemade version..Thinking maybe puff pastry, instead of dinner rolls and a dusting of powder sugar..Will try at the next afternoon tea party. 😋 take care from Arizona 🌵
Thanks, Anna! I've had quite a few days just like the one you shared with us! It's been really hard, but such a great blessing, learning how to enjoy my home by myself!💞
Just watched this video. What a great transformation! I need an Ernie in my life! lol Those shelves were a game changer! I take much pride in my home and garden as well! LOVE TO CLEAN AND GARDEN! Besides my family, 2 of my most favorite things! Love watching your channel Great decorating ideas! LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR HOME!
Me again. Video popped up again. Watched update of Rooms you have decorated. By Far The Most Outstanding is The Horse Room ( my nick name). It is so corroborated in Style. Definitely presents image of Professional Decorator. I would be in that room all the time. 😉😉 maybe because of your relationship with the Large Painting of Horse. Go back and look with eyes of someone coming into room for first time. Just saying. Whenever I enter a home my first instinct is to have my eyes to look at Paintings, framed sketches on walls, tables ( does it show the persons real personality, and that room does more than any other in your Home. ❤️❤️. I know every other room is still a “ w pork in progress”. That will be the most fun for me to watch as you use your imagination and inspiration to present you an Earne’s personality & life. Wish this room could be seen downstairs because most visitors do not go upstairs in our homes ( Unless it’s Move Room. 😀 Presley.🥇🏆. Southern Living Magazine Award. This magazine has been in my Home for 30 years just as Martha Stewart’s. Thank goodness I can go back to UTube & watch all the information videos of Martha. 😀
Oh I so jealous. In so many ways she was an inspiration to me & my generation. We were just discovering & being @ allowed” to open our mind to study, yet having homes etc. I went to a Southern Women’s College where we were encouraged to expand our mind but be gracious, be the rock and make a Home, enjoy our Womenhood, ( we were not the bra burners of the the East & Berkeley. .. lol. ). 60’s were a very enlightening period. We had sit down dinners every night at my collage. We dressed for dinner and rotated being the Hostess. Conversation, style of food that was delivered to our tables. All Freshmen had to take modeling for the year. They flew in Styles, Makeup people for Dallas to improve an teach hair styles, cuts, makeup application. Yes, it really existed. I would not take anything for it. It prepared young women how to be prepared as a helpmate for her husband and his career & her’s. ❤️❤️. Relax and enjoy your vacation. There is so much to learn about Southern way of life ( it is a laid back) way of life. But not ignorant in thinking. ❤️. Idea… ever thing about having a glass enclosure with a ballet slipper inside? A thought to family past. If you had one your relative had or you had it would be so sentimental. Great conversation piece for your home. Bookshelf, table somewhere. Anything from a family member.
Oh Anna, I really needed to hear the words you shared in this video. Not only am I soon to be an empty nester, I lost my sweet husband of 30 years … a year ago today. 💔💔💔 We had so many plans, but God had other ones… I have been leaning on the verse “ I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Phil 4:13 …. And hearing you talk about being capable, resonated with me. 💕🙏🏻💕
First of all... let me give my condolences for your loss of your sweet husband. No words can comfort you, I'm sure. But I am happy you received the capable message. You are strong and capable. I'm sure time is all you need. God bless you, Michele!🩷
Anna your life will take another turn if you find yourself a widow it's worse than empty nester with no companion and less money being alone most of the time I don't want to make you sad but to prepare you enjoy your videos
Anna, I love all your videos but this one was so special. I'm a single mom of three wonderful children. I am fortunate as I have to date done well for myself all by myself. No help from the dad's unfortunately. However this video brought back so many good and hard memories for me. My parents are immigrants and worked extremely hard for all we had. My beautiful and strong mom did it all most of the time. The memories we have and made were simple but memorable. Like you said, you don't have to have money (it helps) but love and good intentions can make a great time and wonderful family memories. Thank you for this video it was FANTASTIC.
Sonia, I am so happy you were able to reflect on the good old days. You are correct, money helps. But, it isn't always needed. A good imagination and big heart will do just fine in most cases. Love your sweet memories of your mom too!
Hi Anna! Love this video, but I really love them all. I think there are many things you can do for free and have fun. Yesterday my family and went to the beach and when we got got home we put on some music and had a dance party. It was so great!
👍loved the video. We are empty nesters as well. Melancholy is how I feel about it. Regrets, I have a few. If I knew then what I know now, boy things would be different maybe even better. Ah but I digress, life is good and I am appreciative and very grateful that we have gone through the poo, and have come out on the other side. Its made me who I am now, so much stronger and wiser😊
What a beautiful tree, Anna. Your color choice is perfect for the neutral colors in the living room. I do have three tree's, the bedroom theme has ornaments of my travels, the living room is what I call Colonial, pinecones, cinnamon bundles, red berries, dried sliced oranges, slit oranges, 3" redware plates, battery operated 4" candles and a tin star on the top..just plain and simple..my home is Colonial, pewter, redware, leather books, wood boxes, Windsor chairs, ect..color palette mustard, dark red, black, brown..dark maple wood floors, plenty of floorcloths and two area rugs peeking out from under beds..this house has separate rooms, no open floor plan and four mantels to decorate..But, the dining room tree and decor is my favorite...because of all the pewter throughout the room, the tree has mercury glass ornaments in silver, and other glass ornaments in brown, champagne, bronze, glass pinecones, silver bead garland, champagne colored picks and plain bronze sheer ribbon throughout the tree, the light's have a silicone brown cover over the light bulbs, making the light a very warm glow, ...even tho the room is a formal Colonial dining room..this room makes me happy and having afternoon tea party's with girlfriends here is a perfect holiday treat..🎄. Take care from Arizona 🌵
Wouldn't be surprised if your boys still remember that 4th. Maybe for different reasons. For one, they never realized the financial difficulties that were going on. They just knew they had a great time/childhood. Now, as adults, they appreciate and know what the situation was and that they had a happy childhood. Hope that all made sense, lol. San Diego is, or was, a pretty city. I lived in Fallbrook from 1966-1969, in northern San Diego county. The zoo there was the first zoo I had ever been to.
That's exactly correct! They love their childhood memories and talk about it all the time. You mean the wild animal park was the original zoo? I had no idea and I'm a native lol
Just stunning, Anna!!..The attention to detail and thinking outside of the box takes a bit of thought..And I thought I was the only one that changed out the water supply line to the toilet and handle to match all the hardware in the room. Don't you just love free standing toilet paper holder's, just elevates the room not having it hanging from a wall, saying "look at me"..😉 take care from Arizona 🌵
Very cool video. Love your dress, so pretty. And your dinner looked so yummy. Enjoyed the memory lane nostalgia, and I agree, “wished I knew then what I know now” 🫶🏻
Anna thank you so much for sharing your beautiful heart, with us! My husband and I made the same choice, there’s not one sacrifice- that we’ve regretted, so blessed our children are able to do the same. You look adorable and your dress looks so comfy too! 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸
I loved this video. I found it very relaxing. I do spend my days dreaming of not having to work full time and all the things I could be doing if I didn’t have to work so this was a good video.
Watched another video yesterday, you hung a grape vine wreath around a mirror and you mentioned Robbie, Visit Our Garden. I enjoy him, he is such a happy young man, always a smile and a laugh coming from his heart. Figured out watching him and Janine, Dig, Plant, Water, and Repeat, that is why RU-vid recommended your channel..they did a great job, as you too always have a smile on your face and joy and happiness coming from within..and get so excited sharing your decor, finds, and landscape, so inspiring and motivational..And Amazon is delivering a small Shark cordless vacuum today, thanks for the recommendation, Anna..think you just made my life easier!! 😁
