Hi friends!
I hope you are ready for some serious CLEANING MOTIVATION. We are back at the Millers' residence and this time we are taking on a kitchen unlike we've ever done before.
Nine people live in this house, seven being children. In our short time there we did four loads of dishes and that wasn't even everything. We also feature a few other rooms from the Miller's home and would love to know which one you think we should take on next.
We've recently hit our 2000 subscriber goal and could not be more grateful! Just knowing that you all enjoy these videos is enough to keep us making them but SHARING them is even better especially if there is someone you think would benefit from content like this. Our main goal is to help as many people and families as possible so go ahead... LIKE, SHARE, and SUBSCRIBE!
Thank you again everyone!
Please let us know...
"What should we clean next?"

I was raised in a home with nine people my parents and 7 children. Every night one child washed the dishes and one dried the dishes and put them away. The other solution would be to use paper plates.

I do like the idea of a consistent schedule or responsibilities! We’ll talk to the home owners and thank you so much for your comment!

Great idea and it is early reward/accomplishments that kids learn to practice. Paper plates is fantastic too.😊

They could also just run the dishwasher 2x ler day. It's not that hard.

I'm one of 8 children I'm 64 in the UK, I'm number 7 we didn't have many things as children because we couldn't afford it, back then the only time you went into your bedroom was to sleep and our houses aren't as big as yours in the USA, plus our mum was a very tidy person plus working part time, I'm the same I cannot cope with mess and clutter every inch of my home gets decluttered as soon as I see I don't want or need something, I always have a charity bag/box on the go, but I LOVE to de clutter !! I would do people's homes but I'm not fit enough now. Great job ladies. 💐

I raised 4 kids. We did what we called Quick clean. Each child was assigned a chore and we set a timer. Our kichen chores were clear the tables and counters, sweep the floor, put food away, load and unload dishes and runner who put things that didn't belong where they belonged. I did dishes while the others worked on their chore. We only had 15 minutes and some were finished even earlier. On Saturday morning we went around the house the same way. It usually finished the whole house in about a hour. Mostly I think that my kids became very efficient and not making messes picking up after themselves. My kids liked inviting friends to our house because they were proud of how it looked. They would often report to me about what their friends homes looked like. I told them that we don't judge but they can be thankful that that is not how we choose to live. As a retired teacher it makes me wonder what kind of homeschool is happening in that home. I know that I would spend 2 to 4 weeks at the beginning of the school year teaching routines and organization so my students could have a safe, clean and organized environment in which learning could happen.

This is such an awesome idea! We will bring it back to the homeowner. We have talked about how a 20 minute reset can change the whole house and if they had even just 5 sets of hands, this could be amazing! Thank you!

@@thetidytwo27 I would like to add that I think that the main key to quick clean is that my kids saw me model correct ways to do things. I didn't expect anything more out of them that I wasn't willing to do. I didn't play the boss and barked orders at them. They also knew I would be there helping them and each other for success. As I look back the bonding and communication that happened during this time was priceless.

You HAVE to teach the kiddos to help out. It makes things so much easier and even if they don’t do the task perfectly out to moms and dads standards, it’s done. The kiddos will feel so much pride that they were able to help out and it gives mom and dad the opportunity to praise their babies for a job well done. - Just my opinion, not judging at all. I’ve been here!!! The key that helped me was getting the kids involved. Love this content!!

Maybe next time have the mom take them on a homeschool field trip to the park while you’re there,even an hour or two would be great for you.
@thetidytwo27

That is a million dollar idea. Very difficult to clean with all the kiddos even when they want to help :)

Family of 5 here and a homeschool family, at our house you get a set of dishes at breakfast, you clear off your food scraps off your plate or bowl into the trash after each meal, rinse if needed, and your dishes stay out at your destinated seat for the day. That means only 5 plates, 5 cups, 5 forks, and sometimes bowls usually less than 5, sometimes knives, pots, and pans are dirty each day. After dinner dishes go in the dishwasher. With this system we only have to run the dishwasher every other day when the load is full. I cannot imagine using a plate or cup once and then calling it dirty.
@thetidytwo27
@thetidytwo27 3 месяца назад
This is a pretty good method and I’m sure my sister (Lana) would agree as they have the minimal amount of plates and bowls etc. Too much of that stuff and you think “I’ll just grab a new one” and the dishes keep stacking! Thank you for the helpful comment!

That is crazy!! I grew up in a family of 2 adults and 8 kids and that was not our reality. I hope they can continue to keep it in order after all your hard work. I think another intervention might be needed.Putting the lids on food and putting it away after using it would be a great place to start!

I want to see it all! They need to massively downsize their inventory. I'd imagine that having that many kids would be like running the military,

The rectangle stools at the counter under the window are a perfect solution to a couple of kids having a quick meal,however,there should be be NOTHING on the counter,especially all of those big potted plants. The mom needs to come to terms with the season of life that she is in NOW,(when the kids leave home,she can fill that counter with plants.) which is feeding and caring for a lot of children. That’s the priority,let the other hopes and dreams go for now. The current situation is obviously not working.

Wow amazing suggestion and you won’t believe it but mom did JUST THAT. There are now only four small plants up there and very clear. Hoping to show in next video. Laura you are on it!

Wow! Amazing effort and good result. Like the idea of appreciating open counter spaces! One thing which helped my cousins in their very crowded home was to insist on discrete tasks: what this means is one task needs to be completed or shelved and related items put away and area cleaned afterwards BEFORE something new can begin. Can be hard for the very youngest but doable if part of routine for 3 on up (how my family did this)... Also, fewer belongings and a simpler life. I realize this family likes to cook but is it practical to do often? Maybe make a baking day once a week with clean up being a part of it? I know it's not easy to change the habits but if nothing changes, nothing changes! - Great there is "homework" and things to think about.... Maybe Mom could plan some work in a list kind of way, with rotating and age-appropriate chores, posted large?-- As for my comment about which of the rooms to choose for next time to clean- why not ask the Mother which one will be most effective in her opinion? -- Wishing the Millers happy times and new ways to cope.-- Bye

What a mess. Control your children and give them consequences for making messes. Teach them that if you get it out then “YOU” put it back or you loose privileges. Not to criticize you but you aren’t taking care of house chores. This didn’t get in this mess overnight.
