Suggestion: for the giveaway, a good thing to do is not put “giveaway” in the title or in the bio box because then it will attract people that aren’t subscribers and your subscribers won’t be the one to win most of the time. I’ve just heard many youtubers talk about that.
lynslee Grumbling makeup huzzie so true but I’ve noticed with the RU-vid changes the influencers who built their hundreds of thousands of subs on giveaways now have abysmal views going back almost a year. One I watch who is lovely had over 350k subs and her views range from maybe 9k to 15k with one 40k vid in the past few months. It’s a shame cause so many sub to win stuff and could care less about content. And Some creators don’t do anything to cultivate a stronger relationship with new viewers Nowadays sheer subscriber numbers often means little for views and income. I just find that all fascinating!
I couldn't agree more with this. I don't do a ton of giveaways specifically for this reason. I don't have the intention of becoming "youtube" famous, so building my channel through giveaway subs seems pointless. I would rather have a smaller community of legit viewers and friends than a large community of people who just want stuff from me. :)
For the palette that you like a few colors, you should de-pot those colors and put them into a z palette and then pass the rest of the palette onto a friend.
Usually RU-vidrs keep more than they get rid off. Good job. When I went minimalistic and cruelty free I went from about 50 products to 15. Four of them are brushes.
That's funny! Have you noticed if you sweat or get wet from rain it streaking down your face? That's why I stopped using the bronzer, because it's actually really nice! I just know that if I'm at work and go to the gym right after I cannot be wearing this!
If you are struggling to remove eyeliner or mascara, saturate your eyes in coconut oil and massage it in and the makeup will slide right off, plus it conditions your lashes.
The back to mac is for recycling the products and is still a thing xx couldn't you rather give them to a friend who lives closer to a mac so that they can recycle it rather than throw it away? ♡ small things affect our environment more than we think
There is a website you can go on to check the expiration date of Makeup products. It’s great for when you are decluttering Makeup that you haven’t opened to know if you have to toss it or if it can be given away.
Just be careful with the PR stuff! From what I can recall, you're not supposed to sell it. I think if they catch wind of that, they'll take you off their list. I could be wrong, but I'd double check! :)
You’re absolutely right! I don’t sell any of my pixi pr (only list I’m on), but for a little while I was on a site called octoly that sent free stuff for a forced review and I no longer am part of their program so I put 5 or so items up. I honestly didn’t think it was wrong to do so, but perhaps it is! I just sold it for like 90% off retail, made some people happy haha.
You can go on the MAC website & fill out a little form & print out a label with your choice of one product for free, lipstick. You just have to send them six empty products. So easy for those of us not near a Mac store. 🙂
Great video, so impressed with how much you decluttered as well :) :) I really enjoyed it and it was awesome to see you cut everything down to what you will actually use :) :) I remember the day when I had like 8 foundations, that makes me cringe now and I'm so glad I only have one that I love and I hate liquid foundations as well so its only powder lol :) :) I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't wear lip products though I only do so on special occasions. You've inspired me to go through my makeup again as I'm sure some of it has gotten fairly old by now as I barely use makeup and most of the time go bare faced. Thanks for the inspiring video :) : )
I only wear lip products on special occasions too! & like only for the first 5 minutes if you have to take photos and then it comes right off!! haha I've probably only worn makeup about 10 times in the last three months so I'm with you on it being easier when you don't wear it every single day for a while and realize what all you actually don't need! :)
Essence has a great brightening powder it has a pale banana shade that doesn't make you look yellow it's really good and you can kind use it as a light baking powder ( it's a pressed powder ) so it doesn't make it that messy to use
The MAC fix+ is great for spraying after you put on powders to make them really melt into the skin and look less cakey. It is also great to use for wetting your brush for highlighters or foiled/shimmer eyeshadows.
This was a great video you were ruthless! I just did a huge purge and was second guessing myself on it and feeling guilty but now I feel like yes it was what was needed .... I may revisit and purge more 😊
I think it would be a good idea to re-visit everything seasonally! I think that's what I'm going to start trying at least :). Glad you don't feel guilty anymore!!
This is what all declutter videos should be! You're actually honest with yourself about what you'll use and get rid of a lot! I'm sick of videos where they get rid of a small fraction and hold onto things they arent going to use
With the it brow pencil, keep in mind when you use it that, the color depends on pressure. The lighter you push, the lighter the color. I have platinum blonde hair and that is the only brow pencil I have found to be light enough.
I had a 3 draw unit full of makeup and now i’m down to a makeup bag and it’s still emptier in the makeup bag but i love it! I wear no highlighter only bronzer, foundation powder, eyebrows and eyelashes (I wear bronzer as eyeshadow) and i only have 4 makeup brushes and a beauty blender my life is so much better now than it was before more stress free
I'm such a makeup hoarder and was doing a clean out earlier today. However, I feel like after watching your video, I could seriously do a second round and get rid of so much more. P.S. When you got rid of all those lip products in one swoop without even going through them, I think I had a panic attack! lol
😂😂 I just NEVER wear anything but chapstick so they were probably all needing to be thrown away anyways lol It did hurt a little when it actually all left the house, but I love it now not feeling like I am wasting a bunch of makeup 🙂
You can back to MAC via the MAC website ;) instead of going in store. Also, you can back to MAC at any MAC counter inside dept stores like Macy's :) hopefully that helps
New subscriber! Came across your video for inspiration to clear out my stuff because it’s ridiculous how much I am not using! This is super intense! Just the push I needed. ❤️❤️❤️
You'll build one over time. My suggestion is to not get too involved watching what others love on RU-vid because it will prompt you to buy wayyyyy too much! That's how I got so much over the years haha. Just take it slowwww :P
Fantastic job! I try and keep a 'realistic' collection which is just a little less than yours and you really do get to more fully enjoy what you have when it's smaller.
If you love the wet n wild matte highlighter side from that duo, you should try NYX HD finishing powder in shade banana, its my favorite and so so amazing!
I recently decluttered so much makeup, and gave the majority to my mom who loves and is obsessed with it, and kinda felt bad/guilty for leaving a basket with things that I don't use daily but wanted to keep nonetheless, but now that I see that you did the same thing I fee better lol 😅😅😅
I wish you would open the items up especially the ones in which the cover isn’t see through like the Becca highlight and KKW palette to see what’s inside
Living with less is definitely a journey. I still have a loooot but i think my makeup is very manageable, as are my clothes and kitchen stuff. I need help with books, dvds and random keepsakes and board games but... since theres space and it would be empty... thats harder than it seems.
Where did you get that stand up storage tower? Right now I have all my makeup in the silver, metal mechanics tool organizer and it has 6 slots per drawer and then dividers that you can put in to separate even further. Right now I am almost at capacity and I want to get another storage container but it needs to be short enough and narrow enough to fit under my makeup desk without taking up to much room so my chair will still fit. That storage unit you have looks like it would be the perfect size.
I think I accidentally threw that one away! All I know is that I didn't sell it and I didn't keep it.... so it must have landed in the trash pile which makes me sad.
I wish I had some more makeup it’s just hard with three kids I wish I had anything honestly Any time I get a new anything I get super excited it .. I lovvvve makeup but don’t have much tho
What is the Kate Somerville SPF 50 bottle? I thought you said it was a primer, but when I search, I only find setting spray. Or do you use it interchangeably?
Mehhh, I'm not the best person to ask haha. I'm still a smaller channel so I literally am only on the pixie PR list. There are sites though that you can join like octolly (which I used to be on) where you can get free products as long as you do a review. You don't get paid for it. From listening to other beauty girls on one of the face group youtube groups that I am on a lot of girls will actually contact companies themselves asking to get on PR lists. I just never wanted to do that, didn't need the stuff since I don't do makeup tutorials on my channel. Now if any workout company wants to start sending me PR, that I could get into :P
I will gladly take anything that is too light for you or doesn’t work. Even if you have used it, except eyeliner, mascara and liquids that can’t be sanitized. Powders and a lot of other things can easily be sanitized.
Brittany Ann okay thanks. Please keep it international and don't do it through websites because it is pretty complicated to go through the websites. And kindly consider international subscribers as we don't get chance to win and we are only kept to increase likes 😕😕😕
